HRCPLEASE HELP TO STOP THESE BRUTAL BEATINGS AND PLANNED DEPORTATION.

Over the past two weeks about 280 detainees in Misrata prison have been forced to fill in repatriation forms given to the prison authorities by the Eritrean Embassy in Libya.

Eritrea LybiaIn mid January 2010, there was a concerted plan to deport Eritreans from Libyan detention centres back to Eritrea; there is no doubt that the Eritrean Embassy orchestrated this new horrifying development. This fact was made public at the time thanks to the cooperative work of Eritreans in Tripoli and in diaspora and with the help of all international humanitarian organizations, journalists and interested individuals.

As we speak, seven Eritrean refugees are stranded at one Air port in Ecuador, Guayaquil Airport, and they have been threatened that they will be forced to return to Eritrea.  At least two of them are women and one has health condition. They are crying for help as they will face persecution and harsh punishment if they are forced to return back to Eritrea.
