“How Old is Our Youngest Leading Official?” (Abdalla Al-Maqlush, the Saudi Al-Watan Newspaper, January 2011)
The quotation above was the title of an Arabic article I had the opportunity to read from the Saudi newspaper, Al-Watan, in January 2011. The article was written by Abdalla Al-Maqlush, the former writer of the column Opinion. Describing the courageous, frank and downright factual writer as “the former writer of the column Opinion” is due to the fact that he was immediately fired because he wrote and published the article.
It goes without saying that every Eritrean has become anxious for change (with the exception of the PFDJ diehards who will see their number shrinking by the day from now on).

First I would like to express my thanks to the Ethiopian Government for giving the necessary logistical support to NCDC to successfully hold the conference, and for the decision to help the Eritrean refugees.
These public meetings are taking place as part of the worldwide Eritrean movement to bring democracy, justice and peace in Eritrea.
At the invitation by the Preparatory Committee of the Eritrean National Conference for Democratic Change, a public meeting was held to discuss the participation of Australia in general and Melbourne in particular to the oncoming National Conference after few months.

The international order has finally caught up with the struggle of the Eritrean people be it for a secondary reason. Finally IGAD, AU and the UN share the same consensuses. UNSC’s smart sanction on the Eritrean regime is a welcome contribution to clarifying an aspect of the brutal regime’s reprehensible behavior. It addresses part of the challenges faced by the Eritrean people.
