I think we need to be careful with this so far unconfirmed news, as it could be a tactic by hgdef to divert the attention from the tragedy of Lampedusa and may not be true. Some years ago the same story broke out and was just a rumor spread by hgdef. Besides even if it is true, it doesn’t mean anything unless he denounces the regime. By far the best wedi-tkuabo for me is the one he sang, impromptu at the frontline (gnbar) in 1999, unrehearsed. I am told many of the ones dancing including the one dancing on the stage towards the end, are no more. Many of them died in the subsequent battles, sadly. By the way, the name of the guy dancing on the stage at about 5.56 is Merhawi; and I am told wedi-tkuabo sang a song for him after learning he was killed in action (the song is named after merhawi).
Every time I watch this, I can’t help but shed tears of sadness (I lost a young brother in ginbar Tserona).

Wedi-tkuabo, I hope you start singing songs that reflect the current situation. You owe it to your former comrades. You owe it to all our martyrs who gave their precious lives to have a free and democratic Eritrea! Sing it wedi-tkuabo,sing it for Merhawi hayna, who gave his life defending his country against aggression. You have a God-given talent, use it to open the eyes of all the blind HGDEF supporters that they, if fact, are the ones taking the country to its grave. Eritrea needs to be saved from this cruel dictator, and we need to wake people are from their slumber.
