News is flying that the singer Yohannes Tikabo has abandoned his group which was touring the USA. The timing is what makes it a very sensitive topic. After the latest ship wreck in Lampedusa, Italy hundreds of Eritreans lost their lives making it the worst tragedy. The news for over ten days has become headline news all over the world. If one doesn’t react to such a tragedy nothing will. Taking a stand in face of such a tragedy is expected of us.
Yohannes Tikabo, as an artist has a special place in the eyes’ of the Eritrean public. But, that doesn’t place him above the general population. In fact, this must give him an opportunity to make something being on the spot light. At present, for him it may not be an easy space to be in. He needs a little time to breath, think and collect his thoughts before saying something profound to the people. Such decisions bring about lots of emotions to anyone who is in similar circumstances. People can react differently having gone through similar experiences. Doubt can creep into one’s mind asking if one has made the right decision or not.
Each and every Eritrean is equally valuable in the face of the struggle against tyranny. Whether high profile or ordinary each has a place of responsibility to play a role and in good faith. It is best to refrain from passing judgement without hearing from the person concerned.

Remember: It was Isaias Afewerqi who, in collaboration with the dead Meles Zenawi, torched the 1998 Eritrean-Ethiopian War, where over twenty thousands of innocent Eritreans lost their lives and many folds more received varying degrees of disabilities, not to mention the destruction of countless properties and the suffering of the milions of Erireans.

Once the w=o=y=a=n=e 3rd Military Offensive got underway, the Eritrean Defense Forces at Gash Barka Front suddenly faces bombardments from their back and front. The result?….For the First Time, The Eritreans Lions suffered setback; the Chicken Dream of the tigrai conspirators was fulfilled, albeit temporarily.
Elated by his temporary success, the tigrai conspirator, Isaias Afewerqi, attempted to repeat his success on the Assab Front. He commanded the Eritrean Defense Forces to withdraw from its long held defensive position but the Army rejected his order and our beloved Port of Assab was saved.
