demo.archive.assenna.com sources in the US confirm, the famous Eritrean artist Yohannes Tukabo (Wedi Tikabo), who has been in the US for PFDJ organised official tour abandons the dictatorial regime in Eritrea.

Wedi Tikabo has been sent abroad by the PFDJ along a group of artists for propaganda shows, which the regime often uses to dissuade the decline of its support base among Diaspora Eritreans.

In light of the recent Lampedusa tragedy, which shocked the whole nation and the world, excluding the regime in Asmara, Yohannes Tukabo’s decision was both timely and morale.

I really can’t understand why he didn’t abandon the regime the day he had to perform in Atlanta ,that would made more sense but I guess didn’t get it then. Anyway I hope he will participate in the demonstration in Italy this coming week. Guys we have to make sure he join the movement

    Amanuel
Wedi Tukabo did well to defect. It is another blow to the crumbling regime of Isayas. But to be credible Wedi Tukabo should post a press release and tell the public why he deserted his boss at this very moment. He could have done it before. Did he realize the true nature of HGDEF only now? Did he defect to save his skin or to fight the evil regime? These are questions that we need to hear from him. If he is reluctant to talk, then I have a lot of doubts. He may be one like Ali Abdu who add nothing to our struggle. It may just be a selfish premeditated decision. I think it is time to speak loud and clear! I hope I am not harsh.

    Amanuel,
I believe that Wedi Tukabo should also apologize to the public. Because in one way or the other he and other artists like him have contributed to the suffering of our people by supporting the oppressive and barbaric regime of Isayas. That is why I demand a press release from him. He is a man of high profile and we need to know where he stands before we welcome him.

      Semere,
rightly said. People who have played part in harming eritreans have to come forward and confess and/or acknowledge their mistakes so that the rest of us can forgive them and trust them to struggle beside us. This is how trust is built – acknowledge one’s own mistakes!

Semere, you are trying very hard to deminish Eritrean government. I’semrelkan eyu gn.

      • Sarah October 23, 2013

I think you are not true Eritrean to say this.

    • Oh Please October 20, 2013

Oh please, shut up. “Demand a press release”? You fool, he doesn’t go around saying “I love Isayas, praise PFDJ, kill the opposition”, he’s just sings patriotic songs. Some of you think you can slip your agenda into anything…

Only norrow minded people stand against the gov of Eritrea. In 21st century, you should understand what is going on and support to your country and government unless you choose to be a western slave.
