Twenty years  ago some of our compatriots were complaining to the approaches we are using in dealing  with our national problems.This complaint is well founded, because we should have first put the framework of finding of the exact problems and then lay down the  sequences of the sources of the problem accordingly. Without such analysis it is always difficult to make certain of your problems and find the right solution to the cause of the indignation.

Some analysts did mention that  the main source of our current problem lay in the history of  the armed struggle’s militancy ( The glorification of ghedli’s Yosief Ghebrehiwet theory), some completely reject the Marxist  orientation to gain support from the East as one of the causes. Some even ask wether the Colonial past was the source  of our divisive political ideas. Those who advocate for ethnic-emanicipation,  acuse the source of our division can be put into one ethnic group’s dominant mentality.

Which ever way we go, we are sure that our political & social understanding of the cause of our misfortune of non-inclussive group forming lays in the upbringing of us as  children of  town-dwellers and village-residents in our country  i.e…… the Asmarinos Colonial nostalgy and the morality of our village life do not reconcile at all. We cannot remain complaining, though due to the emergency required to Salvage our Eritrea from the Tyrant. Here are some that might help us to put some strategic thinking and  practices:

The key points to make a successful Strategy:

a.Your strategy tells you how you’ll achieve success, no matter how that success is defined. And whether you’re developing a strategy at the personal, team or organizational level, the process is as important as the outcome.

b.Identify your unique capabilities, and understand how to use these to your advantage while minimizing threats. The process and tools identified above will help you identify a variety of potential strategies for success, so that you can ultimately choose the one that’s right for you.

A problem-solving Strategy can also help at this stage. If your problem is that you’re not achieving your goals, ask yourself how you can ensure that you do. (If everyone in your organization finds it hard to deal with a particular problem, then you may gain a competitive edge by dealing with it.). We need Evaluating and selecting strategic Options.

The Bologna Summit,…………….. according to Seyoum Tesfaye;

“The primary responsibility is reserved for EYSC to go beyond initiating the Bologna Summit and address all outstanding and possible concerns in a palatable manner,however the fundamental issue then becomes how Eritreans should address their national issues in a rational, tempered, in a none-arrogant, none-isolationist political deliberation that does not deploy nationalism as a toxic weapon but as a source of pride that engenders a sense of responsibility to do our share to resolve our vexing national conflict“

Would this summit then solve the many divisions, splits and confrontation within the Eritrean opposition ,which is due to the application of the worst form of conflict resolution.?

To my opinion we are still far behind solving such divisions unless we identify the causes and select a right  conflict mangement and a right Strategy

We have all observed from the time the regime in Asmara flared unwanted wars against Yemen, Ethiopia, The Sudan and later with Djibouti. Extrem behaviour of Xenophebia against all these countries we have observed closely  in the form of beating the war drums.

Some time ear defenning. Asmara Demitsi Hafash and Asmara EriTv,  were extremely irrational when broadcasting hatred slogans pointing towards our neighboring countries. Only an irresponssible leader does allow such xenophobic behaviour to flourish in a society.

Come what may be……… the xenophobic behaviour can continue as long as the lunatic and irrational leader stays in his saddle. Young people learn things wongly  from their parents or older friends, unless corrected for the best methodes of approaching issues accordingly.

Governments choose to put their evil intentions on the Youth or young generations, unless stopped from poluting  the whole genration with their Xenophobia.

Nationalism is militant hatred. It is not love of our countrymen: that which denotes good citzenship,philantropy,practical religion,should go by the name of patriotism.

Nationalism is passionate xenophobia. It is fanatical, as all forms of idol-worship are bound to be……………………………..While Patriotism, the desire to work for the common weal,can be,must be,reasonable: “My country,may she be right!’ Nationalism spurns reason:”Right or wrong, my country”” –Albert L.Guerard

“Eritrean Solutions for Eritrean Problems”? Is this the only  way, the new generation can resolve the Eritrean problem.? Or do they see it broadly in the Context of a peacefull Co-existence?

Conflict Management is  the science of including all the Stakeholders and listen to the grievances of all those who have suffered most. Eritrean youth are trying to identify themselves with the past history of their predecesors for the wrong reason.

“ Bologna was the site of indetermination, confussion, money laundering  and dominanace by the EPLF. It was in Bologna that some of us gave our virginity to slavery, and incompetency and dogmatic ideas.”  We lost our logical reasoning and pragmatism, so I wouldn’t envy those who lost their mind and dance with the Wolves.

    The writer is either misguied or woyane underground agent. His idea should be totally rejected. Eritreans are pround of our upbringing, heritage, history, far and beyond our ultra-Nationalism.

      Dawit,

      I think the author is very sensitive and smart thinker. He is very thoughtful and very affirmative. You and like you who advocate hatred against especially toward weyane and Ethiopia won’t like to hear peaceful co-existence with our neighbors. This is 21st century and we are living in global village and it is serious mistake to support Xenophobia at any cost. I know from your previous comments you seems you are very hurted by the conflict of the last war between the two nation. I can assure you I and many many Eritreans are very much have similar experienced during that senseless war but as people we have to move on leave the past behind us for the sake of brighter future. We should not been enemy forever. The two peoples are not enemy but the elites from both side are/were. We need to bridge the difference and pass those barriers which are factual or perceived. Tes,

        Tell me that after the bandit woyane vacate our territory.

        • MightyEmbasoyra September 3, 2013

          Dawit,
          Let’s assume that they (Ethiopians) leave our territory and we get it back. You really believe isayas will change his behavior?
          We should demand that they leave our land because it is our land. Period. Not because isayas will change his sick style and he will relinquish his power to the people. Many people think the reason for not implementing the constitution is because of Badme. I don’t believe so. The only way he leave his power is when someone powerful than him take it by force.

            MightyEmba..

            You are absolutely right that Isaias Afewerqi’s tyranny is not predicated on woyane’s occupation of our territory; it is rather a means to his sinister end.

            Recall my never changing assertion: Isaias Afewerqi and Woyane are two faces of the same coin; their apparent antagonism is the manifestation of Libi Tigrai Twi Twai, designed to reap their victory on our self-destructive folly.

            A case against Isaias Afewerqi from another perspective:

            Let me grant to Isaias Afewerqi that his followers advocate that the apparent position against woyane wer/is genuinely based on the interest of Eritrea and Eritreans and the illegal and unncessary war he launched on Ethiopia were as result of tricks woyane played on him.

            But for this assumption to be proven right, his acts in aftermath of the war ought to have been been acts that, among others, Unite the people to withstand their mortal enemy, woyane;

            that empower the people to rule themselves

            that give hope to the young generation;

            That advances the military skills of our Armed Forces through familiarizing and arming them with the latest technology;

            That develops sustainable Energy from Geo-thermal, of which Eritrea is abundantly endowed in Semhar and Denkel regions;

            That develops integrated economy;

            That opens gates of friendship and trade with the outside world

            etccccccccccccccccccccc.

            Did Isaias do any of that? None. In fact, all of acts have been the opposite. Why? Because his sinister interest runs counter to that of ours.

            How does he mask his sinister interest? Evasion, Euphemism; scapegoating others; blaming the victims etc.

            Do you know the highest reach of injustice is forthe unjust person, like Isaias A. to be worshipped as just. This is the tragedy unravelling in our country;some of our people, at home and abroad, are idolizing him, their assassin. This must be reversed.

        Said,
        The mad dog isayas was brought up ab inda SWA! With his grad mother Medhin Berad ab inda SIWA!
        His followers Sibhat Efrem , Hagos kish… all of them were brought up in the same environment ab inda SIWA.
        What can we expect from people who grew up ab inda SIWA?
        They grew up with no LOVE, no AFECTION, and no RELIGION.
        They all are the product of PROSTITUTION!
        The same goes to their followers.
        That’s why they are killing our people, destroying our culture, our religion, our laws etc.
        The mad dog Isayas is responsible for all these crime we should focus on him!

        Our target should be the ድያብሎስ Isayas!

        Said, as long as ድያብሎስ Isayas and HIGDEF are in Eritrea misery and death will continue.

        The only solution is to get rid of crazy mad dog ድያብሎስ! Isayas wedi Medhin Berad, his son, and his blind followers HIGDEF just like the Libyans did to Gadafi, his sons and his followers.
        Eritreans should unite and get rid the tyrant mad dog ድያብሎስ! Isayas, his son and his blind followers the HIGDEF.

    The main source of our current problem doesn’t lay in the history of the armed struggle’s militancy. The glorification of ghedli’s Yosief Ghebrehiwet theory is not correct in the eyes of the existing regime. The glorifying is a consequence of the absence of alternative policy and the inability to lead the country. The only thing the Tegadelty learnt was descipline how to obey the dictator – the commano-policy.

    The marxist ideology as a transition phase was a must for warranting our unity, but after independence we failed to make a smooth change to democratic transformation. DIA utilized the field exercises and mentality to prolong his reign. Now we pay the price for our ignorance.

    • Dawit Meconen September 4, 2013

      Abel,

      You are absolutely right that our Armed Struggle is the embodiment of our Heroism. Those who are hopelessly attempting to defame it are those whom we defeated and shamed.

  • marsa September 3, 2013

    Wey gud eza dawa temsto alowa, here we go now you are blaming our history, our struggle for freedom, our upbringing
    What is next. .this is what we call weyane in action you doing good job for our enemies keep eroding our patriotism.

  • Kalighe September 4, 2013

    Eritrean nationalism is a proper cure to many of our problems. This is not about hating our neighbors, as the author is trying to explain, it’s about loving own country and people. It’s about being proud of own identity and honoring sacrifices made by previous generations for the sake of their people. We have too many problems we need to solve in one way or the other, but this has nothing to do with hating own identity, history, culture ..etc, with are elements of which a healthy nationalism is made of. Eritrea has one problem: it’s ruled by a group of people who are not nationalists. In fact it’s ruled by a group of people who could be defined as enemies of Eritrean nationalism. They are destroying methodically whatever makes of Eritrea a nation. Eritrea survived all attempts to dismantle it, thanks to all nationalists who paid their unique lives for the sake of it. European nationalism built modern Europe prior to and during First World War. Thirty years later, in the aftermath of another devastating war, they agreed to have a new order of the world based of common security, shared economy and open borders. It’s impossible to bring this reality to East Africa, as things are now, because we don’t have even elected governments. Every country in the region has internal ethnic, regional or religious conflicts. Anti-nationalist propaganda in such a situation is just a recipe for disaster. While neighboring countries flood local media with nationalist propaganda to keep their countries’ internal unity strong, requiring little Eritrea to hate it’s glorious nationalism, can be done only buy someone with questionable motives.

    To Dear genuine Reader
    We are all on this journey together, a journey to establish a new Ethio-Eritrea where there is unity, justice, freedom, equality and prosperity for all Ethiopians and Eritreans We must struggle together to reshape the values that we want for our future.

    Bear in mind that there will be some casualties along the way. This journey is one to find truth, compassion, humility, insight, hope and more humanity. All of us from every ethnic groups of Ethiopia should join it for the sake of our children and our future.

    It is time to start talking to each others rather than talking about each others. It is time to stop fighting with one another and to start working together. Instead of fighting for political power and resources, it is time to fight for justice and righteousness. It is time to make a “ceasefire” amongst ourselves and our different ethnic groups for the sake of society.

    It is time for the renewal of our hearts. It is time to start the conversion of love and unity rather than the conversion of hate and division. It is impossible to stop the ethnic hatred and ethnic division that it is tearing our beautiful society apart. It is the time to genuinely care for our people. May God help transform our thinking.
    God Bless Ethio-Eritrea

  • Truly, Truly i say to you September 5, 2013

    To be honest i am a person who wishes everything good and success to Woyanes and their leadershipment. Unfortunately their policy response towards us is like my brother Dawit Mekonnen many times honestly pointed, it is reversely. I would say they are our main enemy equally like Isayas, i don´t think they from heart have wish to see Eritreranns live in peace and prosperity like many of us wishing for them.
    Woyanes and Isayas together with their no peace no war agenda they attempted to weaken Eritrea. But at the result, it is woyane which is facing more economical hardship because they inforced for instance to pay 1,5 billions dollar to Djibouti for Port tax yearly.
    As we all know from the beginning Isayas was not agreed Eritrea to be independent state, though our hero brothers and sisters with their blood already make it real the independence. But he couldn´t change the reality. However, for more than 22 years whatever he sabotaging to reverse the independence by causing conflict hear and there, tried to exterminate our people, isolate our nation, destruct our economy, but finally because both Woyane and he realized with no Peace no war policy as they couldn´t kneel down Eritrea, in contrary Woyane this time because facing a big economical hardship and facing trouble from the oppositions side and scares not to lose power, as well Isayas also because finally realizes as he couldn´t deceive more the Eritrean public for ever , i am sure not because of his good will, but because most nationalists in all festival pressured him unwillingly now he enforcing to allow Eritreans to build their residence houses. In my view which is a positive news since Isayas is in power. Both Isayas and Woyane gradually understood Eritrea with its Gold, Potash, Red Sea and others natural resources which estimates by many hundreds of billions dollars with its nation loving citizens hard work in addition as they couldn´t stop it the nation´s building bright future. This time they seems inforced to have a different positive approach. Ethiopia, tends to have good economical relation , Isayas starts to respect people´s demand.
    This is the current reality. But there is still a fear Ethiopia, just again to gain its opposition support and to have acceptance by Ethiopians chauvinist like before they may will open another war. Definitely Isayas also may will come with different destruction plan to fulfill his hidden mission. Eritreans be watch out!

    • Dawit Meconen September 5, 2013

      Truly….,

      Eritrean economy and therefore, the people’s Standard of Living, will never Rise until Energy availability is made Top National Priority. But meeting the required Energy is less difficulty than it seems because Eritrea is naturally gifted with plenty of Geo-Thermal Energy.

      But why hasn’t it been exploited yet? Because of the Isaias Afewerqi and woyane conspiracy to kill our country and people as a means of realizing their evil dream, Abai Tigrai.

      Some people may retorically ask, Then Why is he allowing the country’s mining to operate?

      The answer is easy: Because he can easily steal the cash he receives from the sale, which he deposites in his foreign bank account, or use to feed, train,and arm his tegaru army, which he owns under the pseudonym of Tigrai People’s Democratic Movement, to be used in the event he is threatened by the Eritrean Defense Forces. Remember, there is no accountability, no transparency , no audit, it is simply mafia style operation.

      Why has he undertaken Agriculture Program as a National Priority, knowing full well that our country does not have sufficient rain, practically none rivers that flow throughout the year, no lakes, no meaningful fertile soil etc.?

      This is the continuation of his Cheguar Danga mantra he invented during the War of Liberation to rationalize his witch-hunt against Eritrean intellectuals convineintly categorizing them as Petty Bourgeois opportunists, foreign spies etc. Thus dividing the Tegadelti into educated and less educated classes, he used the less educated Eritreans as pit-bulls to demoralize, frustrate, arrest, kill etc. Eritrean intellecuals.

      By pretending to help the Eritrean peasants, he is grooming them to be used in the event opposition against his betrayal erupts in the urban areas. Bear in mind, he has already armed them.

  • Truly Truly i say to you September 6, 2013

    Thanks Brother Dawit Mekonnen for genuine analysis and for exposing Isayas´s evil hidden agenda. I all time very satisfying when i read your comments. Because i know what you talking is absolute truth based from deep knowledge. I wish we have 7 smart patriots like you, who deeply understand how Isayas is is destroying our nation and stealing our money. Brother you absolutely right regarding energy you talking. without electrical energy, nation building and economical development is unthinkable. Eritrea because of its natural resources and geological landscape suppose to be industrialize nation not agricultural nation. In other word the priority focus should to be for industry not for agriculture, but Isays when deliberately reversely doing that, the purpose is clear. You already above because well mentioned it, i don´t like to repeat it again.
    Dawit Mekonnen 1000 times many thanks! You simply are for me the best. The respect and the admiration that i have towards you is enormous.
    The hatter that you have towards Woyane as it will change, as soon as after woyane start to respect the Eritrean territory you described, it is well acceptable and understandable! I know you are a good guy, without reason you couldn´t hate woyane´s policy. But for the sake of peace and restoration of good brotherly relationship, as well remembering many worthy woyanes who fought for our independence and reconsidering the blood relation we have and a lot of honest friends, it is sometimes good in positive approach to handle with them. May God bless you!

    • Dawit Meconen September 6, 2013

      Truly…,

      I am grateful for your compliment ……….

      • TheTruth September 7, 2013

        You guys are dimwits. I can’t believe people actually believe in your gibberish. This statement is the worst: “Why has he undertaken Agriculture Program as a National Priority, knowing full well that our country does not have sufficient rain, practically none rivers that flow throughout the year, no lakes, no meaningful fertile soil etc.?” Because of the very reason you’ve stated is why it’s a national priority. Do you not want the Eritrean people to eat?

  • kahsay September 9, 2013

    Badme ,Badme,…don’t yoy know as there are so many Ethiopians who claim gash Barca to be the territory of Ethiopia ,let alone badme.So pls you guys who are barking at weyane and tigreans ,try to stand on your agenda not against others.Find your solution by facing the reality of THE SOURCE OF YOUR PROBLEMS,SELF ILLUSION,poor,new country under-formation,….these are the realities in Ethiopia,..as is in any African new born country.

    Eritrea has so many projects to wind up before coming up with a sustainable existence, some of these projects are, the issue of kebesa/metahit,the issue o zobawinet,the issue of afar,kunama,saho,..democratic process.so much so many.

    So, pls find ways and means how to deal with these conditions.

    let me remind you this speech by romodan mohamod nur along with his comrade and translator,sebaht efrem during the congress of TPLF in 1975 EC, after watching the vibrant political leadership of TPLF, specially the than emerging young leaders, tewelde,tsdkan,meles siye..Romodan says as follows

    ”this power will not only save tigray or Ethiopia ,this power is a lie saver of the whole east Africa”where sibhat was trying to misinterpret his speech.Unfortunately romodan interrupted sibhat and reaffirmed what he feel.

    The so called ghedli protectors still you are not in a position to cure your wounds,it is up to the moral value and strategic importance of TPLF/EPRDF to solve the Eritrean political problem.Be ready to see a federal Eritrean state ,just like what tplf are doing in Somalia.

    We will see the peaceful relation of the two countries again,not far !!

    this is the continuation of our sacrifice in sahel ,1982
