Our “Issaias Afewerqi” who art between Asmara and Massawa,
Famous be thy name,
Thy Self-reliance come,
Thy will be done in Ethiopia as it is in Eritrea,
Give us this day our daily “Hateta”,
And forget our Civil Rights, as we forget our sweat, tears, and blood you made us pay our entire life,
Lead us not into Peace and Stability,
But deliver us from Freedom, Liberation, and Prosperity,
Amen

May be that was his dream to lead Eritrea back to feudalism . King Haileselasse was one example in Ethiopian history
how he used religion particularly Tewahdo church as his tool for influence to mislead followers like a God send leader .
Issayas blind followers bow their head to kiss his hand while Haileselasse blind followers kneel down on the ground to bow for their idol expressing their loyalty .
Nowadays we observe how corrupt religious leaders manipulate their power to serve the government against
the principle of their religion . And for that reason many humble , uneducated and self-centered people might fall
on such kind arrogant practice . In fact , majority of the people’s capability in their religion’s theological understanding is minimal to make them easily targeted by some crooks . To hung a picture of him like honorable man
in your own home despite all clear picture of the truth , that is disgusting , shameful and stupid act for real .

we ethiopians dont bow or kiss the hand of ato hailemariam because it is now 2013. 60 years ago bowing for the King it was the right thing to do. Did People oppose that at that time? yes offcourse. Only eritreans, hell no. Was the struggel in ethiopia for changes? off course. was elf for change, yes! For changing the ‘amhara’ king by tigre one. How long did it take for shabi to understand the failure of elf? for some 0 years for many even 22 years are not enough.

@ Ahmed saleh..you are stuck in the 1940s. Ethiopia may have appeared feudalistic (is it because the country was led by a king?) for the colonial (fascist) Italians, but i don’t think it was for any native eritrean. Or when ethiopia was feudal, it is probable that you were born from a nomad family.

Leave aside the question of my upbringing because my father is typical Asmarino raised in ABA-SHAWEL . Only
typical Asmarino guys understand what I mean .
“Zeneghese negusna – zbereket tzahayna ” sentiment doesn’t initiated from Eritrean culture but copied from Ethiopia
through Orthodox church . We see how the people’s react anytime they encounter the president .
If you react with uncontrolled anxiety like them , I advise you to visit therapist .
