The people of Eritrea own the ghedli and have sustained the hardships, the sufferings, the martyrdom, the victories, the disappointments and the present betrayals. This is in reaction to Yosief Gebrehiwet article of “Romanticizing the armed struggle, “Ghedli” which gave rise to a lot of discussion and has become a focus of debate away from the challenges facing Eritrea today. Debates about “Romanticizing Ghedli” on Radio “Meselei” in Tigrinya is taking more airtime at the expense of today’s burning issues such as the violation of human rights and the controversy of aid for Eritrea. Such a concerted action to call for appeal to EU not to give unconditional aid to the Eritrean Government based on the article written by Daniel Rezene on European Weekly is one of the challenges of present day Eritrea and is fundamentally relevant.
