THE HAGUE, Netherlands — The mayor of a small Dutch town says a group of former Eritrea national
team footballers who went missing after a tournament in Uganda in 2012 and sought asylum is now living in his town.
Gorinchem Mayor Anton Barske told public broadcaster NOS on Saturday that the Eritreans have been granted political asylum in the Netherlands and have been housed in the town 75 kilometers (45 miles) south of Amsterdam.
Barske says “there are teams in Gorinchem who are very interested” in the players but that the men’sfirst priority is getting used to life in the Netherlands.
Barske could not immediately be reached for comment.
The group of 17 players and their team doctor disappeared in December 2012 after being eliminated from the east and central African CECAFA Cup.

እንታይ’ሞ ይገበር ብዘይካ ስልጣኑ ምሕላው ካልእ ሕልሚ ይኹን ራኢ ዘይብሉ ዕሉል መላኺ ኣብ ሃገርና ነጊሱ፡ ንኹሉ መገድታት ዕብየትን ክንጸትን እናረገጠ፡ ብምስሉይነት ንኽነብር “ብጽፍርና” እናበለ ኣጽፋርና ቆቆሪጹ ይድርብዮ ኣሎ። እቶም ግዳይ ናይዚ ጨካን ጉጅለ ዝኾንና ንጹሃን ኤርትራውያን ድማ ስደትን ከልበትበትን ንኽንዓግት ከምዘይተቃለስና ዳግም ብዝተዓጻጸፈ ቁጽሪ ናብ ስደት ንጠፍእ ኣለና!
ሕጂ ድማ እዞም ብእኩብ ኣብ ሃገር ሆላንድ ዕቑባ ረኺቦም ዘለዉ ዜጋታትና፡ ከምቲ ሓደሓደ የዋሃት ዝገብሩዎ 2% ከፊሎም ንጓይላ’ቲ ህዝቦምን ሃገሮምን ዘብርስ ዘሎ ጃንዳ ህግደፍ ከይድምቑ ዘሎኒ ተስፋ እናገለጽኩ፡ በታ ሽዑ ንጉጅለ ምልኪ ራሕሪሖም ንፍትሒ ክቃለሱ ወሲኖም ዝብል ዜና ምስ ሰማዕኩ ዝጸሓፍኩዋ ናዕታ ኣቢለ ደጊመ ዮሆና ክብሎም ፍቐዱለይ?

On what grounds did these players got asylum? They were selected and sent from Eritrea to represent Eritrea. Unless Holland is purposely accepting asylum of Eritreans with out any reason, these guys should have been deported back to Eritrea

Sulaiman, by now it is clear that Eritreans that are supporting the mafia regime for several reasons some are like you they have family members serving the regime, some will see that their religion members are dominating the regime’s and some will see their region members are the dominant. All these categories are after their personal issue and all are opportunists.
