fifty plus comments about Andebraham exceeded those about Iseyas. This is going to be the nasty legacy of Iseyas, because even when he is finally gone, regionalism and all other ‘isms’ in the Eritrean context will keep the country busy for years to come. It only shows what some of us are putting as their priority, and that is why Iseyas is safe and passing a quite life, after murdering an entire generation of young Eritreans in wars he instigated.
I know for sure Andebraham has served the dictator for decades, and he cannot be sincere now when he claims that under prevailing conditions he was doing his best to serve the country. He is an opportunist, he could be a criminal too. But it’s unwise to stop him now that he want extend a help hand to remove his master. I would say give a chance.
To all those who want implicate regions into this issue, please stop it.

I am sorry that University of Asmara is closed. It’s a big loss for Eritrea. But there one thing many of the commentators never mention. Did the University reflect the Eritrean diversity ?, how many Kunamas, Bilen, Hadareb, Saho, Afar, Nara, Tigre ..etc were enrolled in it and had chance to have a better future ?
I am told out of hundreds graduated every years, there were either none or a few (between ten to twenty) of these linguistic groups. Why is that ?, doesn’t that has anything to do with national unity ?

The majority of Eritrean Ethnic groups were deprived from the access of basic education during the era of colonization. This has affected the number of students who joined Asmara University. Additionally, PFDJ has denied students of some Ethnic groups (like Kunama) from going to a higher level of education. Students of 10th grade were sent to Teachers Training Institute so that they can take some pedagogic courses before they return back to their Ethnic group to teach at Elementary level. So the small number of students from other ethnic groups other than Tigrigna (which were the majority at the University) has nothing to do with the people of Eritrea. It was an outcome of the past colonization and PFDJ regime’s of wrong educational policy.

The PFDJ policy of ethnic segregation in higher education denied many brilliant students equal opportunity not only in education but also in government jobs. All those who were sent to TTI ended up being teachers in mother tongue medium schools, teaching a languages never used anywhere in the country. The legacy of Mr. Iseyas regime is going to be horrible.
