Genuine Eritreans:
Any one who eulogizes the alleged success of Woyane, or the political skill of the dead Meles Zenawi, or falsely elevates the importance of Eritrea-Ethiopia relation to the survival of Eritrea is only repeating the old self-serving mantra:
that Haile Selase was God-chosen, that he was the most skillful Statesman in Africa, that Eritreans are linguistically and historically one with Ethiopians and that Eritrea as a country cannot survive etc.
Genuine Eritreans:
The fact that Haile Selase was not what he claimed to be was proven when the Eritrean Liberation Forces single handedly defeated his army reputed to be the 2nd largest in Black Africa, the result of which, not only was he overthown but also was buried in the toilet room of Mengistu Haile Mariam.
But who had aided him to seem what he was not?
The Western countries were the ones. Why? Because he was their proxy. Incidentally, all the little kings in Africa and Middle East were all crowned by British Imperialism in the aftermath of decolonization following the rising pressure from the Communists. Haile Selase was one of them.
What about Melese Zenawi?
We, Eritreans, more anybody else know who Meles really was because we created him to advance our cause, and for seveneen years, till our military victory over Dergi was duly recognized by the UN, he served us loyally. This is a fact, of which the world is fully aware.
Who then in his right mind would call such a person, who committed treason against his own country, skillful?
Only he who, aware of his malignant weakness, would want to use him as the EPLFs did.
Is woyane currently introducing democratic change in Ethiopia?
Absolutely, No. Do not believe what you hear from treacherous woyane, watch its action.For instance, the current Ethiopian Constitution woyane framed twenty two years ago allows for any Ethnic Group the Right for Self Determination upto Cessation, and yet when Oromo and Ogaden people opted to use that option, woyane showered them with bullets.
Woyane is a criminal organization, and as such, it has committed numberless crimes over the people of Ethiopia. Handing over power to the people of Ethiopia means for woyane literally self-condemnation to death, and therefore, nobody with his right mind should contemplate such impossibilities. Woyane can only be routed out, like Haile Selase, by force. There is no other alternative for Ethiopians.

The alliance you are talking about ended in mid seventies when Iseyas consolidated his power and swallowed the other groups of the partnership (ልፍንቲ). You are trying to explain the current realities in the country with something that is not there for the last 30+ years. The fact that the regime of Iseyas has been at war with almost all groups in the country (except with Tigrigna) til the start of the so-called border war is not difficult to see. After that it came also for them. So, it’s not an issue of a rocket science. If people fail to stand together, terrible things can happen, including mutual suspicion and indifference.

This is a perfect analysis of how a corrupt regime runs a country. This applies not only to Tigray and Eritrea but to many under developed Afrian countries.

The God bless Eritrea gave you away.However ,if things are like you articulated ,I feel really sad ..because Ethiopia in general & Tigray in particular ,are our refuge & education center for us Eritreans.
While comparing EPLF´s Eritrea with Tigray is comparing monkeys with high school teachers respectively ,I understand your concern.
I will investigate on my own..& if I find out things like you articulated ,I guess Tigray will need another Wiyiyit.

Do you represent some of various opposition movements in diaspora or it is individually initiated motives ?
The subject is a national issue which require thorough observation as far it concern to all of us . If not ,
I wish you guys bring together all these opposition groups to find the way out from the mess the country
have been facing for the sake of our people inside the country . Trying is better than nothing regardless
our differences . Any light of hope is acceptable because on time we will meet together at the half way of
common journey . The past experience teach us many things and it is up to us to learn not repeat the same mistake
and perform better far out of it .

As a unitary State, obviously Eritrea is controlled from center, which makes it easy for a large ethnic group to control the State. This problem may have a geographic as well as historic dimensions. Besides it’s not unique to Eritrea. We have seen it happening in neighboring countries, at times leading to internal wars:
– in Djibouti the Essa Somalis still control the State.
– in Sudan the Northern Tribes (Jaalia, Dungla etc.) still control the Sate.
– in Ethiopia the Amharas controlled the State from more than 100 years.
So, the marginalized groups want have a say in the way the country is run. Now, aside the intimidation (ቀዳማይ ጸላኢ እዩ ከም ምባል ከይኰውን ምጥንቃቕ ከድሊ), you were supposed to offer a solution, but you didn’t. I don’t think ethnic groups are asking the Tigrignas to do something for them. They want all Eritreans to come up with a solution that guarantees the rights of all groups are respected. In any case, in the minds of many, an Eritrea ruled from center seems to be a thing of the past. In multi-ethnic society, a form of governance that is not suitable to accommodate it’s diversity can lead to problems and conflicts. It’s the responsibility of all those who care for their people to find solutions, instead of being part of the problem.

The policy of forced assimilation of all groups into Tigrigna has been on top of the agenda of EPLF/PFDJ since day one (have you ever heard of a citizen who submitted a written request in Tigre to a government office in Asmara and was served ?).
Adding insult to injury, although you put it in a form of a leading question,(ነቲ ተደምዲሙ ዝነበረ ተቕሲማዊ ምንቅስቓስ ከም ብሓዲስ ክበራበር ኣለዎ ማለት ድዩ), you accuse the victims of this divisive policy, of trying to dismember the country. Here again, you failed to provide a solution.

Which made me a little out of touch is couple of the names mentioned were a role model for Eritrean patriotism for
a while to find myself a little bewildered to get to the point . I don not know , unless it is up to the way it has

They put forward a lot of questions, made some indirect accusations, but failed to address those core issues properly, or propose practical solutions, for the country to move forward. It’s strange that some of the ideas they presented are typically of ‘shabia’ type, while some of the names in the list, like the only lady among them (whose brother, a veteran of ELF, is missing for long time), are victims of the brutal regime in Asmara.
