Come one Tukuu! the tegadelti who made serious mistakes (who are most of them) should come forward and acknowledge theri mistakes. This does not mean they have to ask for mercy. It means they are showing that they understand teh pain of their people. Thsi would built trust. I am one simple eritrean and I tell you I have tegadely around where I live, I know them from back in eritrea tehy have commited a lot of crimes against their neighbours, agelglot youth. Two have raped young ladies. They run from eritrea to even a better life than the one they had there. They came here and asked for political asylum and then they started to work with the embassy AS SPIES AND SUPPORTERS. Ask people around you and they can tell you similar or even worse things than this. Unless these guys come forward and say they made a mistake NOW they will be brought to court later. So tell me are you talking on behalf of these people and blaming ‘hzbi’? The only mistake ‘hzbi’ make was TOO MUCH TRUST!!!! AYTEZARBENA BEJAKHA!
you cliam that AGELGLOT betrayed tegadlti??? how dare you? Agelglot built the houses of tegadlti with out pay (slavery) in asmara (enda generalat -Tiravolo)and in their own villages, they worked in their farms (slavery)… they built roads for which thier tegadelty bosses where praised…. you want me to go on and on?
So please Tutkuu do on add insult on the injury of teh ‘hzbi’.

You can’t blame to some one who had already witnessed , especially if you are on the run. No one or noon of any group members had worked , risked them selves for the sake of justice and truth in Eritrea. more than the ex freedom fighters .
Aanedrhariat Samuiel left eritrea in the first year of freedom. The reason for his flee was because he experienced betrayal and isolation from his own family member. and neighbour hood for been tegadaly. where isseyas was taught to be angel.
More than 100.000 youngsters went to sawa for military training then, they just made it short way to Sudan .Ethiopia attacked by selfishness, love of material, and individualism . AAgolgulotat did not stand for truth and justice even when they where at the army instead they where corrupting their unit leaders ,to stay at home with parents doing nothing ,just hiding from both the rigim ‘s actions, as well from slavery in the army.
This big number of youths could have made difference on the soils ,of eritrea that does not happen bcs of a choice to run and cry about mediternaian and sinaay.
The exfighters were few in number an mostly an educated buy honesty enough. Tegadelti had done their best in action three or four times but where executed targeted by the rigims puppets .
There are about 50,000 in ethiopai , 35,000 in isreal, and over 50 aggolgulotat in the rest of the world who made a of choice run.
Well tegadleti was only less than 30,000 and where all kicked off by Isseyass systematic lay, in the very beginning .but not only isseyass even downgraded by their families.
Agolgulotat want to live falsely and cheaply in diaspora , Now instead to learn from they past actions bertyall to the mass and wake up again most of them are still niggling.

Dawit,
when you say, tegadelti ketefti, you sound just like eseyas. and remember you are calling our entire population ketefti. do you honestly believe that about our people? and who are you, if you are not a member of that people? it is easy to be childish. but get your facts straight. those fighters without any position or rank have suffered the most under the dictator. marginalized by the general public, exploited by the regime, they paid dearly. and you talk about tegadelti ketefti? no wonder eseyas has ruled our country to destruction. it is actually impossible for me to imagine how someone could point fingers at tegadelti. unless we stop accusing each other of this and that we won’t get anywhere. and remember, before you start pointing your finger at people, ask yourself, is what i am saying true? why am i believing what eseyas told me? use your brain.

Smearing everyone with the same brush does not help to further our cause except creating more division. We have to be able to differentiate and stick to the topic being discussed. If we can’t bring clarity to the topic there is no use writing. from the other. At this point in time, divisive, unfounded words have no place in our search for truth bringing us to find a solution to the Eritrean problem. Sawing words that divide us instead of uniting us to be challenged by any means.
Forward – Reflection’s from a Sawa conscript:
“For years, when I was in National Service constructing roads, hospitals and schools I was your hero. When I fought in the Ethio-Eritrean border conflict I was Yikalo. Years went by and I didn’t see any change. I wanted to live a normal life similar to any other human being. My parents started to get old and needed my help. I had no income and couln’t help seeing them living in poverty. I dreamt of my future, a place where I may be able to go to school, work and support my parents, get married and have my own children …. More than anything, I dreamt of freedom! The teenagers who watched me as a slave didn’t want to have the same fate.
I decided to leave my beloved country. It was sad to see the majority who were teenagers taking this risky journey too. These were the teenagers that didn’t want to taste slavery. My journey was not easy and I was faced with so many obstacles … such as the soldier who shot at me at the border, the cruel human traffickers who sold me to the Bedouins in Sinai desert and those who took me to Libya to face the the merciless Mediterranean sea. Fire in Sinai burned me to death and water in Mediterranean swallowed me. Now, I Rest in Peace. But, there is a noise that is waking me from my death bed, a voice that is very familiar to me … that voice is telling me, “I am not an Eritrean.” Are you not the one who said I was your ‘Eritrean Hero’ when I was serving you? How can you take away my identity from my dead body? Have fear for God and let me have my Peace! ”
Roberto’s response for the above:
Thank you for this piece. It’s a touching one! So many idealistic dreams have been dashed by politics, fear, oppression and bad governance. Flight risks are taken that often lead to tragedy. Isayas’ government’s statement that those who died near the port of Lampedusa were illegal Africans, not naming the fact that they were Eritreans, is cold indeed but how could they say more. It would be admitting that not everyone is happy living in Eritrea. Isayas lives in a fantasy world that his Eritrea is okay and that the people are satisfied with his leadership. And how would he know otherwise? He has successfully censored the press and no one dares write anything that hints of dissatisfaction. Even if Isayas should step down from his position, would things change that much? Who would replace him? Is he grooming anyone?
Letina Habtom October 26, 2013
we have seen more than enough the last 22 years and you were not different until you went abroad when the government started to attack your evil interest. What we need is not group of tegadelti, WE NEED individuals with broad mind and outlook who could bring peace, development and freedom of speech and not like you tegadelti who are filled their mind with hatred and evil thinking. otherwise with you guys it is wuha qida wu melis and not better than your tutors. Do not worry would be far better without you. God Bless Eritrea.
Selamawit October 26, 2013
Do you think guys who is still fighting the bloody PFDJ? Majority are ex-freedom fighters. Go Addis Abeba all of them were either EPLF or ELF. Go to the cities of Europe and USA most of them are Tegadelti. If Tegadelti withdraw their feet from opposing this government, Isaias will stay for ever and eventually Eritrea will become Somalia. The only hope and only hope to save Eritrea is by ex Tegadelti. Even Isaias’ fear is from them because the rest of the people don’t know Isaias and his evil deeds. Thats why he is scared of ex Tegadelti. Better to support them than to oppose them. Period.
Ghenet October 27, 2013
Majority? not true?
If your hope is tegadelty, you already have you hope! why struggle? Issayas is never scare of those who are abroad because he deliberately sent them to destroy the opposition. They left eritrea with a passport. Do you think mesfin hagos is going to save you and he is a genuine fighter? Lots of blood in his hands and he does not want the present situation to change unless he becomes the president! He does not want the Pfdj to go because his crimes are covered only with pfdj and tegadelty in power.
Do you think the member of this so called ‘mahber tegadelti’ do not know how much eritrean blood he has in his hands? They do but they do not talk about it-cover! Do you think they do not know how much financial corruption the x-ambassadors (no asking for ‘change’-lip service) they were involved in? They do, cover again.
So please the best thing is for them to come out and confess. Without that we cannot trust them!! So they have to man up and talk!

Good enough, Ethiopians, the cause of our bad,and the decisive factors in our issue, look at any Eritrean from a tissue affected by cancer point of view.
Ethiopians, they do not have any personal problem with any Eritrean including the president. But they have a big reservation to our issue, and are half way through to dissolve it.

marsa October 26, 2013
Please I would like to clarify a few things for those people knowngly or unknowngly which are trying to mess our history, when we talk about tegadelti we are talking about the whole Eritrean people except mahber andnet, and these tegadelti are the first victim of the system. They have done their share and they pay hard price for it.for your information 1991 Eplf with 85,000 tegadelti out of this around 35, 000 demoblize them 15, 000 frozen (midiskal) 5000 in prison over 15000 die in the war (border war) the remaining very few are serving the dictator. So please before blaming them ask your self what you do for your country you can’t hide behind your computer and insult our hero.shame on you to be herded 50 you men by one bedewi you cannot even do anything to protect your sisters from Rashidyda and now you want to look hero in cyber. Please blaming each ather will not take us anywhere, and that’s what the dictator want unless you are one of his messenger.
ruthj October 26, 2013
Hi Marsa as you put it the more than 1000000 Eritreans who perished during the war of independence and the more than 400000 Eritreans who were killed during the Bademe conflict are part and parcel of our History as the Eritreans who were killed by the Eritrean rulers of the day in their 100000 of thousands in broad day light, the Eritreans who perished in Sainai and the Eritreans MARTYRS of the Medetranian and other Seas ship wrecks in their tens of thousands are also our history. When it come to History we don’t pick and choose like a Chainise menue. We got to own the good, the bad and the ugly. That is why i propposed to leave our History to the historians and go to work on the very burnning issues that are very urgent. No time to play the blame game like President Isaias and company.

Well, its not the case of Tegdelti or Aglolgulot what, i meant was the ,” Agolgolot was lots in number , young and educated than the ex freedom fighters. So they had the potential to topple Isseyas and eradicate his cruel centralized system but what’s on ground is just fleeing , crossing border.. hiding corrupting officials who have lost control of them selves.
Agolgulot and hizbi are not reacting ,resisting enough instead are complaining .
Ghenet October 27, 2013
But the guns and ammunition are in the hands of tegadelti bosses.
You expect hizbi and agelglot to solve teh problem tegadelti carried to asmara along with ‘liberation’?
Luna October 27, 2013
Ask Eritreans how the last few weeks were after the Lampedusa incident? We were caught unaware with no organized body mandated to voice the tragedy in our hand.
No other group with such grave human rights abuses remains silent to this level.
What makes Eritreans tolerate abuse to such a degree? Thus, stopping us from having petitions to the EU, UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and other agencies leting them our stand promptly.
This weakness is exploited by the regime against the interests of the victims and survivors alike. As a result, families back home were denied the right to mourn their loss of loved ones. It is a let down discouraging the large sector of our community who are struggling for change and democracy in Eritrea.
