Dear Haile
How nice of you to write a nice poem for a great father figure who inspired many young generation . To mention the name
of his martyred son ” KESAR ” in respect of FATHER and SON sacrifices was sad and emotional reminder to those who know
them . Even though my close relationship with Kesar in GHEDLI at out teens age was short lived like many of them who left
behind at that cruel situation , their spirit will live with us forever . Thanks .

Reading your articles one can easily recognize that you have a good knowledge of Eritrean History and culture.I have seen 4 of your articles all of them were very educational.
Having said that,let us come to this man . To begin with i know little about this man, so i do not want to comment on him but depending on your article and others,let me ask you 2 questions:
1, Do you really still believe joining to ELF was a good idea ? were there other options to correct the so called misdeeds by the then Ethiopian rulers?were these misdeeds directed only to the Eritrean ppl or to the whole Ethiopian ppl?
2, As a wise person,elected member of the parliament ,one expects him to condemn the Ghedli from day one. As its result should have been known to wise ppl as simple as A;B;C;D : What do you think?

If you are an Eritrean we still observe sold-outs who ignore the plight of their own people .
Before you blame GHEDLI better revisit the sufferings and brutal atrocities inflicted upon
helpless farmers in Eritrean villages buy Ethiopian army . Then inside Asmera the killings
of Eritreans dumped everywhere ( coil on their neck ) start to occur .
Brave good men heard their cry to stop the evil at that period of time .
Most of us had a good life back then but them the Ethiopians pushed us to the limit to take
action for the sake of preserving our national integrity to live in peace .
Now it doesn’t make a sense to put fingers after one man ( ISSAYAS ) who get years unreserved
popular support and praise began to betray the trust . Learn from past mistakes if you have
the will to make difference otherwise barking on wrong tree only waste the energy .
Again , 99 percent of Eritreans voted for INDEPENDENCE and 1 percent probably including you
voted No .
Now since majority won accept and honor people’s choice . 30 years war was destructive and
difficult experience on both sides . Rest past history where it belongs ; MEMORY .

ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ግዙእ ጣልያን ኮነ። 1941 ብ ኣመሪካን ብዓባይ ብሪጣንያን ሓራ ወጸ። እንተኾነ፡ ጣልያን ረድዮ ማሪና ዝባሃለ ሰሪሑ ብምንባሩ፡ ጸላ ኢና ፈጢሩልና ከደ። ራድዮ ማሪና፡ ካብ ሮማ ናብ ኣስማራ ዘራኽብ ስለ ዝነበረ። ናይ ኣመሪካ ወታሃደራት ኣብ ኣስማራ ምስ ኣተዉ፡ ንእንግሊዛውያን ወታሃደራት ኣዘንጊዕም ወይስ ቀዲሞም ስለዝሓዛዋ። ኣብ ኣስመራ ኮይኖም፡ ራድዮ ወሊዖም ምስ ኣብ ዋሺንግቶን ዝርከብ ዋና ወታሃደራዊ ምምሕዳር ኣመሪካ ( ፐንታጎን) ተራኸቡ፡ ኣብ ኣስመራ ኮይኖም ምስ ጀነራል ኣይዘንሃወር ኣብ ሎንደን ተራኸቡ፡ ምስ ጀነራል ማካርቲ ኣብ ፊልፕኖ ተራኸቡ። ሓዲሽ ጸላኢ፡ ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ መርየትና ስለ ዝኾነ፡ ኤርትራ ኣብ ትሕቲ ፈደራል ኢትዮጵያ ንኽትከውን መንግስቲ ኣመሪካ ወሲኑ ተዓጥቀ።
1952 ኢርትራ ምስ ኢትዮጵያ ብፈደራልዊ ተቖርነት። ህዝቢ ኤርትራ፡ ተቐቢልዎ ነበረ።
እንተኾነ፡ መንግስቲ ሽዋ፡ ሃጸይ ሃይለ ስላሴ፡ ብትዕቢትን፡ ብንዕቐትን ተቐበሎ፡ ህዝብና ዝተጸበዮ ኣይረኸበን።
1962 ናይ ኤርትራ ባይቶ ፈረሰ። ህዝቢ ኤርትራ፡ ኣብ ኢትዮጵያ፡ ናይ ካል ኣይ ዜግነት ተዋህቦ።
“ኣምባሰደር ዘውደ ረታ ኣብ ዝጸሓፍዎ መጽሓፎም ኣብ ዘስፈርዎ፡ ኣቶ ተድላ ባይሩ መራሕ መንግስቲ ኤርትራ ን ኣዲስ ኣበባ ክመጹ ከለዉ ጋዜጠኛ ኮይነ ዝረኤኽዎ፡ ኣቶ ተድላ፡ ከም ኩሉ ናይ ወጻኢ ሃገር ብዓል ስልጣን ዝግበር ሙሉእ ፕሮቶኮል፡ ኣቀባባል ር ኤኹ። ድሕሪ ፈደረሽን ኤርትራ ምፍራሱ፡ ዝነበረ ፕሮቶኮል፡ ተረፈ” ይብሉ።
ሰብ መግቢ ጥራሕ ኣይኮነን ዘንብሮ፡ ዝባሃል ኣዘራርባ ንመልከት፡ ኤርትራውያን፡ከም ካልኣይ ዜጋ ክቕበሉዎ ኣይከኣሉን ።
ቐጺሉ፡ ኣብ ግዜ ደርጊ፡ ኤርትራውያን ወይ ኢትዮጵያውነቶን ኣሚኖም ይቀመጡ፡ ወይ ክኣ ምስ ቀይሕ ባሕሪ ንሓውሶም ዝብል ብናይ ጎጃም ክፍለ ሃገር ኣመሕዳር ደገዝማት ሃይለማርያም ኣብ ኣዲስ ዘመን ጋዜጣን፡ ኣብ የዛሪቱ ኢትዮጵያ ዝተባህለ ጋዜጣ 1974 ተጻሕፈ።
ደርጊ፡ ስልጣን ምስ ሓዙ፡ ክቡር ዘብዔኛ ናብ ኤርትር ኣብ ወርሒ ጥሪ 1975 መጹሞ! ኣብ ደቀምሓረ ተኣኻኸቡ፡ ታንክን መካይንን፡ ኣምሪሖም ኣስመራ ክኣትዉ ከለዉ፡ ከም ወራሪ ሓይሊ “ እምቢ ያለ ሰው ጥይት ኣጉርሶው” እናበሉ፡ ካብ ጎዳይፍ፡ ብክሮቸረሳ፡ ብመገዲ ባጽዕ፡ ብጎደና ንግስቲ ሳባ ንዕዳጋ ሓሙስ እናጨፈሩ ኣስመራ ኣንቀጥቀጥዋ።
ሰበ ስልጣን ሽዋ፡ ካብ 1890 ክሳብ 1991 ሓደ ዓይነት መርግጽ ነበሮም። ኣብ ሽዋ ዝመሰረቶም መርሃ በቴ፡ ወይ ተጉለትና ቡልጋ፡ ወረዩና፡ ከረዩ ዝባሃሉ፡ ንህዝቢ ኤትዮጵያ ኣሳቐይዎ።

ዝነበረ 1974 ኣተሓሳስባ “ ግዜ ከለካ ግዜ ኣይትጸበ” ንሃገርካን ህዝብኽን ተዓጠቕ።
ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ኮነ ህዝባዊ ሓይልታት ኤርትራ፡ ምእንቲ ህዝቢ ንነጻነትን ሓርነት ዝቖማ ኤየን ህዝብና ዝፈልጠን ዝነበረ።

ኣቐዲመ ሰላምታይ የቕርበልካ? ሕቶኻ ሃናጺ ሕቶ እዩ። እዛ ሕጂ ኤርትራ ትብሃል ዘላ ሃገርና፡ ከም ጆግራፍ ዕድሜኣ 120 ዓመት ገይሩ ኣሎ። ኣብ ሓደ ጥርኑፍ ምምሕዳር ኮይኑ፡ ገድሊ ኤርትራ 9 ብሄራት መዝጊቡልና ኣሎ። ብሄር ጀበርትን፡ ብሄር ኢሮብን፡ ብሄር ኢሊትን ምስ ተወሰኹ 11 ብሄራት ክህልዋን እየን።
ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ሓቢሩ፡ ካብ ዝነብር ልዕሊ ሸውዓት ሽሕ ዓመታት ኣለዎ። ዓልየቱን፡ እምነቱን ተኸባቢሩ ይነብር ነበረ። ሕጂዉን ይነብር ኣሎ።
እምበኣር ዕድመ ዘበናዊ መንግስትነት ኣብ ሃገርና ድሕሪ ራእሲ ዓንደ ሃይማኖት ጸዓዘጋ፡ እዛ ናይ ሕጂ ኤርትራ 120 ዓመታት እዩ። ብደቃ ኤርትራውያን እዞም ሸፋቱ፡ ከመሓድርዋ ድማ 23 ዓመታት።
1. እዚ ናይ ሕጂ መንግስቲ ዝባሃል፡ግና፡ ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ ከም ሰብ ኣብ ዓለም ከይነብር ክፋእ ክፍሕስ ክመክርን፡ ዝሓደር መራሒ እዩ።
2. ንሕናውን ከም ህዝቢ፡ መሰልና ዘይነኽብር፡ ሓውና ብዘይ ኣግባብ ተጨውዩ እና ጠፍኤ፡ ሓወይ ኣበይ ከደ፡ መን ወሰደልይ ኢልና ዘይምሕታትና፡ ንጥፍኣትና ነቃላጥፍ ኣለና።
3. እዚ ወሪድና ዘሎ ሽግርን፡ መከራን፡ ስደትን፡ ቕዝፈታትን፡ ነፍስ ወከፍ ኤርትራዊ፡ ዓቢ ኮነ፡ ንእሽቶይ፡ ወድና ጓልና፡ ሰብ ኣይ ይኹን ሰበይቲ፡ መምስ ነብስና እንተዘይመኺርና፡ ልክዕ ክንበርስ ኢና።
4. ንምንታይ ከምዝተቓለስና ትርጉም ኣብዘይርከቦ፡ ሃዋሁው ከምዘለና ክንፈልጥ ይግባእ።

ሃገረይ እትብሎ ኣብ ዋና ኸተማ ሃገርካ ከድካ ከምሰብ ከይተቖጸርካ፡ ገዛኢ ስርዓትን ሰዓብቱን፡ “ጣንጡ “ መጻይ ደም ክብሉኻ እንታይ ይስመዓካ? ክቡር ኣቶ ተኽላይ? ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ብሰበ ስልጣን ሽዋ፡ ጣንጡ ተባህለ፡ ኢሎማና ኣብ ቅድሚ ዓይናን።
ደርጊ ፖለቲካ እሱራት ክፈትሑ ከለዉ፡ ኤርትራውያን ናይ ፖለቲካ እሱራት ግና ኣይተፈትሑን፡ ዝተዋህበ ምኽንያት “ ኣገር ለመቁረስ” ተባሂሉ ከይተፈትሑ ተረፉ።
ነብሲ ሄር መምህር መዋእል፡ ንኹሎም ኣባላት ባይቶ ኣሰማሚዑ፡ ብትሕትና፡ ካብ ባይቶ ኢትዮጵያ “ኣብ ኢትዮጵያ ዝወጽእ ኣዋጅ ንዓና ኤርትራውያን ዝተፈልየ ኣዋጅ ካብ ወጼ፡ ብሰላም ንሰናበተኩም” ኢሎም ወጹ።

I use to love him too, because we as young boys in Asmara to see a young parliamentarian was a good inspiration and a role model of resistance in the belly of the enemy.
Just a small correction:

If you are some one from Eritrea who has hint of what the ignorant Amhara feudals at the top of Haileselassie’s feudal regime were doing in Eritrea, you wouldn’t have dared to question aboy MewaEl Mehrahtu’s suporting stand to the Eritrean national struggle from the beginning. The claim of feudal Haileselassie to include Eritrea in his feudal government was historically unbased. In order to realize his clain, Haileselassie and his feudal fanatists were terrorizing Eritreans who were suporting the choice of Eritrea for Eritreans. Many grandfathers were killed by bandits who were sent to Eritrea by the feudals. At the end they killed Tedla Oqbit whom they had deceived at the beginning but came to his mind at last. So all the politics which the regime of feudals was doing, was simply a crime committed to a people by force, deception, terrorizing, bribing …etc. So, Mr. Teclay how can Aboy MewaEl Mebrahtu keep his eyes blind and make his wisdom null in face of such a reality? After all Aboy MewaEl was a man of justice, the father of wisdom and corraggeous, not coward like me and you, so not natural for him to keep silent. In the following periodes of time the criminality of the Amhara feuddals of Hailesellassie increased in magnitude and became genocide and mass extermination of humans and of animals in Eritrea. Can you expect a man of justice and wisdom like the corrageous MewaEl Mebrahtu to have kept silent? MewaEl Mebrahtu was not only interested in law and justice in Erirea, but in the whole of Ethiopia, because he was a witness of injustices in Ethiopia as well, eventhough the criminality and injustices were extreme in Eritrea. So he did not keep his eyes away from what was happening in Ethiopia, he was a man of law, justice and morals.
Dear Teclay, I wish you would reconsider you ideas and change you mind about the past history. For that you better read past historical happenings.

First i want to thank you for addressing your point of view in a civilized manner.After all we all of us have a common interest and concern that is our initial point.We start to have a different point of view ,ie how all this disaster which threatening us even to the verge of our extinction started.Was it avoidable or not ?
Let me ask you simple questions:
1, Are we brothers with Tigray or not ? If yes ,it is very natural to live together ,after the enemy(colonizer Idalia)left our common country and continue our old civilization.
2, About what you said,killings of Eritreans by feudal Amhara: Isn`t it the character of every ruler in the world to kill its opponents? Were Amharas also the victims of Amhara rulers or not ?
-How many thousands if not millions died during Wolo starvation ? were they Amharas or not ?
-How many Amharas died During the infamous red-terror campaign (key shibir) in Gonder ,Addis ,Bale etc ?
So first of all the unfortunate mass killings in Eritra was in 60s and 70s that means it was not a cause but a consequence .Secondly mass killings even though it is evil it is not enough reason to wage a secessionist war .Had it been so Addis ,Gonder and Bale would have been highly qualified.
So bring a tangible and convincing argument. I desperately want to be proved Wrong.
