Education for sustainable development – preserving linguistic and cultural diversity
UNESCO International Mother Language Day 21 February, 2014
International Mother Language Day (21 February) is the opportunity to show the vital role of education for sustainable development in the preservation and promotion of mother tongues. Among the 6,000 languages and dialects of the world, 50 percent of them are threatened.
A language disappears on average every two weeks, carrying with it an entire cultural and intellectual heritage. The protection of linguistic diversity is a challenge for sustainable development. Languages convey knowledge and local know-how, they are an irreplaceable tool for sustainability.
The decrease in the number of speakers holders of traditional knowledge has a direct effect on the environment. Thus, linguistic diversity is the refection of natural diversity. These two values ensure the prosperity of present and future generations and the advent of sustainable development. Traditionally, education for sustainable development places the promotion of mother tongues as a priority in its objectives with the fight against illiteracy.

ክቡራት ኣሕዋት ዋልታ፣ ዙፋና፣ ሰላም፣ ራሕዋ፣ ከምኡውን ካልኦት ኣሓትን ኣሕዋትን
ምስ መዓልቲ ደቂ-እንስትዮ ኣተኣሳሲረ ነዛ ሓጻር ታሪክ ከዛንቱ ፍቀዳለይ።
ነዚ ዘሎናዮ ግዚ ኣመልኪቱ ሓደ ካብቶም ናይ ግዜና ዓበይቲ ገጠምቲ “ንገረኒ ንመን ተሓጺካ” ኣብ ትሕቲ ‘ትብል ኣርእስቲ መስትያት ግዜ ዝኮነት ግጥሚ ገጢሙ ናብ ህዝቢ ኣቅሪቡ ኔሩ። ፍረ ግጥሙ ንመንእሰይ ኤረትራ ዘተኮረ እዩ። ነዚ ዘሎናዮ ግዜ ንሱ “ግዜ እቶ-እቶ” ኢሉ እዩ ዘቀምጦ።
ብሓጺሩ ምክሩ- ቀራናት ኣብዑር እነሀዉ ፡ ኣብ’ቲ ደገየ
ተጠንቀቕ ኣንታ ቆልዓ ፡ ከይትጋጌ እዩ ….. ሰናይ ምዕዶ !
ሕጂ ግን ናብታ ታሪክ ፡
ናብ ቃልሲ ክጽንበር ናይ መጀመርያ ስጉምቲ ምስ ወሰድኩ ፡ ሓደ ካብቶም ብረት ዝዓጠቁ ሽዑ ዝበለኒ ክሳብ ሎሚ ዘይርስዓ እንተሃልያ- ቃልስና ብዘይ ተሳታፍነት ደቂ-ኣንስትዮ ኣይክዕወትን እዩ። እዚ ሓቂ ግን ምስቲ ሽዑ ኣብ ምድሪ ዝነበረ ኣመዛዚንካ ተስፋ ኣዚዩ ዝህብ ኣይነበረን። ምክንያቱ ቑጽሪ ናይ ደቂ እንስተዮ ተቃለስቲ ኣብቲ እዋን’ቲ ኣብ ኹሉ ክብል ኣይክእልን ግን ብርግጽ ኣብ ሰምሃር፡ ሰሜን ደንከል፡ ደቡብ ደንከል፡ ኣብ ኣከለ ጉዛይ 6 ደቂ ኣንስትዮ ጥራሕ ኔረን። እተን 4 ካብ ከተማ ኣስመራ ዝወጻ ኮይነን እተን 2 ከኣ ቅድሚ እተን 4 ደቂ-እንስትዮ ካብ ሓደ ንኡስ ከተማ ዝወጻ እየን ኔረን። እዚ መሬት ገና ዲቅ ኣብ ዝበለ ጸልማት ኣብ ዝነበረሉ ግዜ እዩ። ማለት ጓል ደገ ወጺኣ ክትሓደርስ ይትረፍ ደገ ወጺኣ ከተማሲ’ዃ ዘይፈቅድ ባህሊ ኣብ ዝነበረሉ ግዜ እዩ። በቲ ሕብረተ ሰብ ሽዑ ዝወሃበን ዝነበረ ሚዛን፡ ኣብ ክንዲ ኣብ ጎድኒ ኣሕዋተን ኮይነን ንድርብ ጨቆና ክቃለሳ ወጺኤን ተሪፉ፡ ንኮንቱ’ዶ ኣጥፊኤና ኮይነን? ሓቐን ካብ ውርደትስ ከውሊ ይሕሸን እናበለ እዩ ዝዛረብ ዝነበረ። እዚ ግን ቀሊሉ እዩ። ኣስኪ ብካልኦት’ከ። ኣብዚ ከባቢ እዋንዚ’ ደሃየን ዝሰምዔት ሓንቲ ጎርዞ ጓል ከኣ ኣነ’ውን ሰዓብዅኹን ኢላ ናብ ቃልሲ ትጽንበር። ደገ ምሕዳር ናይ ጓሎም ከም ጽያፍ ጌሮም ዝቆጸርዎ ስድራቤታን ናይቲ ከባቢ ህዝቢ ግን ዘሎዎም መሳርሒ ኣልዒሎም። ጓልና ሕጂ ጡብ እንተ ዘይኣቢልኩማ ምሳኩም ክንዋጋእ ኢና ኢሎም ምስ ፈከሩ እቲ ምምሕዳር ናይቲ ከባቢ ኣብ ወጥሪ ኣትዩ። ዝኮነ ኮይኑ እቲ ትመለስ ዝብል ሓሳብ ስለ ዝሰዓረ፡ እታ ቆልዓ ድሕሪ ገለ ሓያል መዓልታት ክትምለስ ጓልኩም ተቀበሉ ምስ ተባህሉ የለን ስቅ ኢልና ኣይንቅበላን ክሳድና ንበላሕ ኢሎም። እሂ እንታይ ኮንኩም ዘይትቅበልዋ ምስ ተባሃሉ ቅድም ትኮለል ኢሎም።
እዚ ከኣ ሓዲሽ ሽግር ወሊዱ። ምክንያቱ ኩነታት ናይታ ጓል እቲ ገድሊ ዝፈልጦ የልን። ስለዚ ኣጋታሚ ኮይኑ እታ ጓል ከምቲ ዝተጸበይዎ እንተዘይ ጸኒሓ እቲ ሽግር ንሽዑን ንመጻእን እቲ ቃልሲ ክከፍሎ ዘይክእል ዕዳ ከስከም እዩ ዝብል ፍርሒ ተጠኒሱ። ስለዚ ካብ’ዚ ዅሉ ጣጣ ኣይንህብን ንበሎም ዝብል ሓሳብ ከም ኣንደገና ተወሊዱ። ብሓጺሩ እቲ ጉዳይ ኣብ ቀራና መገዲ በጺሑ ” በዚኣ እንተ ከድኩም ሕጊ ትፈርሰኩም ፣ በዚኣ እንተከድኩም መርዓዊ ይመተኩም ዝብል ምስላ ዶው ኣብ ቅድሚት። ነዚ መዋጥር’ዚ ዝትዓዘበት ጓል ግን ደሓን ትእቶ ግዲ የሎን ኣነ ነቲ ንሶም ዝሓትዎ ዘልዉ ጠለብ ክምልስ ፍቃደኛ እየ ኢላ ነብሳ ንመርመራ ፈቀደት። እቲ ዓቢ ፈተነ ከኣ ተሓሊፉ።
ድሕሪ ቁርብ ግዜ ግን እቲ ናይ ደገ ስእሊ ተቀይሩ። ደቂ-ኣንስትዮ ኣሕዋትና ንድርብ ጮቖና ንሕና ባዕልና ኣሎናሉ ኢለን ፈኪረን ማዕረ እቲ ብትሑት ዓቅሚ ዝርእየን ዝነበረ ወዲ-ተባዕታይ ተቃሊሰን ተዓዊተንን እየን። ድሕሪ ናጽነት ግን እቲ ሕድሪ ኣይተተርጎመን። ብኣንጻሩ እዃ ደኣ ካብ ድርብ ናብ ድርብርብ ኣትዩ። እቲ ምክንያት ብዙሕ ስለዝኮነ ንግዝየ እንተ ገደፍናዮ ዝሓሸ እዩ። እቱይ ኮይኑ እቱይ ግን ሎሚ ከም እንደገና(ድሕሪ ናጽነት ማለትይ እዩ) ነቲ ደቂ-ተባዕትዮ ጥራሕ ፍሕት ከነብሎ ዘይከኣልና ደግመ ቃልሲ ናትክንን ናይ ከማኽን ዝበላ ኣሓትን ከም ኣንደገና ንቕድሚት ክትብላ ምስ ተራእዮ እዩ ይመስለኒ እቲ ገጣሚ “ግዜ እቶ-እቶ ኮይኑ ኣሎሞ ኣርሕወሎም ደገየ” ዝበለ። ኣነው’ን ራእየይ ንሱ እዩ።
ብዘይካ ተሳታፍነትክን ዝዕወት ቃልሲ የሎን እሞ ተሞጎሳ።
