Iseyas was a street boy like many ‘Deki khomaro’ in the city. In Asmara kids who passed most of their time out on the roads were called ‘scuniss’. It’s a deformed version of the Italian word ‘scugnizzo’, the street kids of Napoli who are known for their smartness. Street smarts in Asmara had a culture generally known as ‘shitaara’, which is an Arabic word for smartness. Iseyas and a few of his childhood friends like Sibhat (from Gheza Kenisha) still use ‘shitaara’ to turn the ‘Cheguar danga’ into malleable tools. What better culture and leadership do you expect from someone who never attended a ‘baito’ meeting in a village other than ‘shitaara’.
They r not imams, imam is the leader in Islamic meaning. they do not represent Islam even though they have Islamic name and dress. The word psychic is enough to define them.
How do you prove these gentlemen are “Psychics” or “Imams” or ….. ?
When did our traditional attire became a dress of “Psychics” or “Imams”. We take offence of such derogatory remarks. This is not about Isaias but about the traditional attire all lowlanders.
Let have some respect for each other and thank you.
How do we know it is him that is Essayas Afewerki? It could be anyone else with same clothes and cap! We should only celebrate when he is buried six feet down like Meles Zenawi and even then we should make sure he is really dead and burning in hell.
eritrea who told you issaye was a street boy in asmara,he grow up with a decent family.even though i hate him as much as you do, he is an evil person ,but do not give a wrong information .
Make me stay on power for life, i will sacrifice what ever you want as i have done for you and your spirit for entire my life…please save me from this wave of change…..please
