    Although Amanuel asked him repeatedly
About his role as an artist in building unity, he he going around the bush to evade the question. Everbody knows unity is key word for strength. The question HOW, not WHAT. He said all the artists sing for Eritrea, so what?. Eritrea is a land and has ears to hear them. Unlike today, the classic artists were great politicians who inspired the Eritrean people to stand up in unison for theirs rights.

    Correction…but Eritrea has no ears.

  • oromay October 29, 2013

    Hahaha …lecture on Unity….

Honestly speaking, I was not impressed by the answer wedi tikabo gave. I expected him to condemn the policies of the ruling regime clearly. He said that he wants to be in the middle. In political struggle, that is impossible and dangerous. He is either with or against the government. Of course I am cognizant of that the he might consider the security of his loved once back home. It is possible that the question presented to him were beyond his comprehension. Had the interviewer asked him short and closed question, his answer would have been more concise and to the point. Any way, I was glad to hear him on assena. I hereby want to extend my appreciation to assena radio for their efforts.

      funny,
You are not impressed because he didn’t say what you want him to say, this is what our (opposition and the supporters) problem is. If we don’t agree with someone we attack. Twedi tqabo knows the hatred among Eritreans he does not want to take side, if yemane baria was still with he would probably do same (in his second release he blame EPLF and ELF for thier failure). i enjoyed his interview he is smart guy and hope he success his plan (to unite eritreans)

        Senait
        For crying out loud
Wedi Tqabo is NO Yemane Baria. YEMANE BARIA, The bloved son of all Eritreans. He was an artist like no other; He was a humanitarian and a strong poltiscan for our people. He sang his heart out for his people. He motivated us, He still does beyond the grave; He maks us laugh and He maks us cry, he is an artist like no other. Stop comparing him with light weight artists, because he was a heavy weight artist!

We’ll wedi tkabo is saying that he is not opposition nor hgdef so what that means is he is just eritrean like most people. I don’t think there is something wrong with and we should just respect him for who he is.

He want to be a force to unite the lost soul Eritreans in diaspora . He stated that UNITY is the solution .

      • Tamrat Tamrat October 29, 2013

But U N I T Y is seen as a horrible concept in Eritrea among gedli worshipers.

        • ahmed saleh October 30, 2013

Do not underestimate GEDLI ERITREA which brought us back our identity . We in diaspora used to be
identified formally in official document “stateless ” , but now formally called Eritreans to our pride.

The Tikabo eyassu family never proud by their ethiopian blood. i wonder why? Tikabo eyassu is 100% from tigray.

    • Dani October 29, 2013

Shut the heck up you ignorant SOB. Go educate yourself. Your body is in 21century but your mind is in Stone Age.

    • melat October 29, 2013

      Dawit rom ziban…,
you mean that? The Tikabo and eyassu family? Ethiopian blood? you are sick! blood is blood. what matters is what you do with that blood. but i think you will have trouble grasping that. i am sure you only intend to offend Wedi Tikabo and Amanuel Eyasu. remember my friend they have no time for your stupidity.

Wedi Tikabo welcome to Freedom, brave decision! But you could have used the interview to apologize and close the chapter. You didn’t only sing for Eritrean unity, in your concerts you belittled many Eritreans who oppose the cruel regime…..your songs are there for everyone to see/listen…..you even told us with Taniqo/Shilan that we should “never touch our flag”….aytitenkifulna banderana….You talked about the Truth and in your case the truth is that you condemned us for defending our people and cheered the cruel regime….just listen to all your songs and concerts…..But I have forgiven you for finally abandoning the regime, me too had supported the regime up to May 2001. Next time just do simple apology and move on dear brother. We will always be proud of you. And we need songs not just about unity but the suffering and indignity of our people, betrayal, and our democratic, fee, just, and peaceful aspirations……I can’t wait to hear your new songs…
