Happy Easter to you all.
The panelists noted that the 1998 war was not because of Badme. Meles also confirmed this in one of his interviews. When you add the court’s finding on ‘who started the war’ (eritrea) on top of that, it clearly shows mad dog (isias) started the war. This is not new info or no one is looking for that answer. One side question, however, can get answered from all these facts. The question is, when mad dog started the war why did he picked Badme as a dispute spot & flash point. There is this unconfirmed story that mad dog personally gave the woyanes the plains of Badme during the struggle for independence. And, when he needed to inistigate war through some pretext, he knows where a favorable spot lies along the border. So this confirmed that story. Mad dog had given that land to woyanes with no consultation with anyone from EPLF. WOW ! unbelievable.
Now he is nursing the Badme issue so that it stays hanging around so that he stays in power. Badme for mad dog is a means of power extension, Badme for Eritreans is about sovereignty. How can these two entities sung together about different things together ?
Pm in his deliverance of his inauguration about peace with Eritrea does not necessarily mean only with the people of Eritrea but first and most with the Ethiopian opposition army stationed in Eritrea.
That is political and militaristic offence against the opposition without firing a single shot.and probably return to Ethiopia. That defence is the best means of offence..
It is the first move to safeguard peace inside Ethiopia. Now they would have only one enemy. That is.the Eritrean army which have no more interest to go to war,
Ethiopia would be in a better position to settle the issue with Eritrea than months ago.at the expense of weakness of the one man show.
Should a war erupt with Ethiopia, the people of Eritrea, as Suim Tesfaye said, we could be divided what to do or not and hence our people will be in a worst shape,
I am afraid we have to come up with original bold initiative than before. .

We all know the Ethiopian and Eritrean governments accepted the INTERNATION VERDICT and made it legal ; every thing had been finished; the only thing left that needs action was/is demarcation. Thus, where did/does Ethiopia have legal responsibility to call for negotiation with Eritrea while Eritrean sovernity is still in her hand? So then now what would be expect/ed the plat farm for negozation?
Guys, as we all go through in our lives today we must not forget the past, we must continue sharing it to our future children so that it will not be gone astray or exploit by some nonsense hate mongers or wrong dreamers who do/did not have any pasitive contibution to our brothers and sisters patriotic history. So we need always aware common sense is neither common nor sense. There’s not a whole of sound judgment going on these days, so it’s not common. If common sense was common, then most people wouldn’t make the kinds of decisions they do every day. The unfortunate reality is that trusting common sense, in point of fact, causes you to make poor rather than sound judgments
Here’s the catch. For instance for some reasons, I have heard several times here in the Assanna radio that the late PM Meles Zenawi was a wise leader and PIA foolhardy MEHANZEL. Besides argued that late PM Meles had the need and will to resolve the Ethio-Eritrea border conflicts which was contrary. And worse yet, used public opinion to determine the non-stop distractions deliberately for the purpose of preventing people from paying attention to reality.
I understand calling someone a liar tends to turn people off. For the genius of analysis lies in quiet deductions, not in the mere parroting of public statements. Thus I would like to say the late PM Meles was very good at political games. but never being wiser than PIA. I mean confidently, he was not foolish leader; however, sometimes he was ludicrous.
I know the late PM Meles was a transformational leader inspire followers to transcend their own self- interests for the good of his organization. He changed followers’ awareness of issues by helping them to look at old problems in new ways; and was able to excite, arouse, and inspire followers to put out extra effort to achieve special his group goals. He produces levels of follower effort and performance that go beyond what would occur with a transactional approach alone
.
Meles, on the other hand, was taught to people to make them more effective leaders using concepts that have been found to contribute to leadership relationships. But you need also to know PIA is not a sellout like you are. He is a compelling leader, who has vision and willings to take risk. Thus all your shortcut thinkings are wrong, ridiculouse, and unrealistic. I assume your brimming emotions cloud your judgment and as well as impair your ability to critically analyze the current political situation. It’s why I don’t listen to Assena radio much at all, but there are some innocent that enjoy that very much
Pro. G i think u r talking about Ethiopia, here is for Eritrea issue. n u r still praying the fighting to continue in Ethiopia who cares.we have to talk about Eritrea and see what solution we get in Eritrea.

Amanuel,
the topic of discussion you chose was both timely and important for both the people of Ethiopia and Eritrea who are suffering for more than 20 years.. However, as one of your followers said it I too have found it difficult to understand the argument advanced by Dr. Gebre.. To begin with the new prime minister of Ethiopia was addressing the people of Ethiopia. not Eritrea. In fact he should have been commended for singling out Eritrea to solve the longstanding problem between the two countries. He can not expected to go beyond that at his first inaugural speech. If he was addressing a regime in Sudan or Djibouti, the government of Ethiopia should have taken unilateral action right after the border decision in 2000. But if you can not trust your government in Eritrea how can you expect the leaders of Ethiopia to trust Isaias.

First and foremost, let us talk about ourselves. Let us, honestly and deeply, look at ourselves. ድሕሪኡ፡ ነቶም ካልኦት ቀስ ኢልና ነርክበሎም።
So, let us start with Issayas >>> our ‘glorified beloved Idol’, and our ‘heinous dictator ‘– both characteristics during uninterrupted time period of fifty-three (53) years and he is still going strong to make it to the higher nineties (90’s), breaking the record of African leaders’ longevity. Issayas started his agenda from Day One (1) when he saw his name (1966), on a notice board, among the first-year university students who did not make it to sophomore at Addis Ababa University. It was a perfect catalyst to start his revenge against the Eritrean people – a lifelong grudge against Eritreans who, admittedly, are known for their ‘loose tongues’ against Tigrayans. He grew-up with that grudge which lead him to hatred. In fact, five decades later, in a moment of relaxation with a compatriot, affirmed it clearly >>>”ከሪኤክን እዬ“ (2). And he did – in a daring ACT impossible to believe. When eleven (11) of the highest ranking Teggadelti were rounded-up simultaneously from their respective residences, in the middle of the night [at 0300 hours] and disappeared for ever, the world famous EPLF Teggadelti uncharacteristically didn’t bleep a sound of protest!!! At that moment, Issayas Afewerki Abraha knew and ascertained to himself, and to his servant Eritreans at large, that HE is the undisputed MASTER & LORD of Eritrean People, for Life. So, WE ERITREANS silently obeyed to this day – regardless of squeaking sound we make here and there over the Internet and in our secured bedrooms, making sure the Ghost of Issayas is not around! The elegant Tigrigna saying describes it well: “ ነተን ከብቲ ወሲዶመን ፤ ጸርፊ’ሞ ዝገደፍናሎም የብልናን” ። I stand to be corrected, with appreciation. In any case, very sad to say, the famous gallantry of Eritreans, men and women, young and old, was left behind, buried deep in the Sahel Desert.
And so, Issayas, the first-year college drop out, is doing, step by step, exactly and meticulously what he set out to do, from the very beginning. And yet, Eritrean Intellectuals of the Highest Order, Graduate of Ivy League Universities around the Globe, with “Dr” permanently suffixed to their names never had a clue of the psychological make-up of Issayas Afewerki until it was too late. They, like anyone else, had only a short period of time to run away in every direction to save their bare Life. Some of them were willing to work under him [though perhaps not with him] for a little bit of ‘peanuts’, good office, and recognition. Issayas ABHORS them all. In turn, ህዝቢ ኤርትራውን ንዘልኣለም ተዓዚብዎ።
Now, with that long-winded narration, let me state my opinion that Issayas will do anything to EXTEND his dictatorship over the hapless Eritrean people who glorified him blindly i.e. a) to create international havoc by playing around with boundaries and treaties , b) to close universities, c) to establish military drill so that students will be busy, exhausted, hopeless and virtual prisoners; d) to infest the country with spies so that people will never trust each other; e) to keep military personnel busy with border wars for eternity; and finally f) to keep ERITREA and ERITREANS FROZEN to helplessness.
Good Wishes: I sincerely wish meaningful success to the Group of Ato Seyoum, Dr. Gebre , Brother Ali Hindi and their compatriots in their endeavour to realign Eritrea to a sane and productive Life. It is a MONUMENTAL task, for sure, as Eritrea was left to ROT for a very long period of time, rendering it as a permanent subjugated society. Ridiculous and shocking as it may sound, it is our CHOICE!!!. Please take time to ponder over own history with rationality and frankness. Unnecessary artificial bravado, tantrum, and insults on the Interment will never get us anywhere but to further fragmentation and meaninglessness to be called a “Nation”. Well said. But the NEW Ethiopian Leader is only [ and correctly] laying the ground work under his responsibility and terms of authority. Now, the diplomatic ball is on Issaya’s turf. . If his attitude and reply is what we all expect then we are back to the old ‘ball game’ and the new Prime Minister will then have his mandate to take his own Action — within the constitutional mandate given to him. Since Issayas is not obligated by any constitution and rules of law, the probability of civilized resolution is slim and Eritrea will remain in its precarious position — that Issayas loves most.!!!
