    It very sad story. I’m so sorry. I know a lot of our sisters raped but no one talks until now by themselves about this crime. You break the ice and I appreciate your courageous initiative hopefully a lot of this victim follow your step. Some codes of rape in Eritrea military are ‘ kushuf tekedeni, tehatsebi,nlaeli deybi’.

  • zigeremo March 14, 2015

    Amanuel,

    I am HGDEF. But, no matter who I am or who you are. I tell you most of the story is false. I can’t defend whether she is raped or not. But I assure you that she is creating story. No matter you are opposition You know that whether or not tegadelti at that time were doing that. I hope one day …… the truth will prevail. By the way, what is she doing in NewZealand/ Australia since then? What about now, do any one (ERITREAN) know here in Australia? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…….. How does she unite with here daughter from Eritrea with out permission of the government of Eritrea. nukhuulu gzie alewo hade mealti haqu kiwexe eyu ..

      zigeremo;

      To support HGDF is a crime at this time, because HGDF is killing Eritreans, leadint the county with out law that all kind of crime is committed by criminals most of the time goverment officials and no body aks them why. Please don’t blame the victim. AGEB BEL NETI ZIBEDIL ZELLO.

      You are typical HGDEF mendef WAY OF THINKING. It is non of your business what she is doing in New Zealand/australia. You might be one of those ppl who do such dirty works to those innocence girls in the name of gedle. I can assure you, one day you will be held accountable for your dirty work. The family of those aboused persons by you or people like will cut you bloody HGDEF head. Denkero! As if it is a pride, you said “I am HGDEF”. You are really HAMLI.

    • Tafla March 14, 2015

      after I saw your fist word “i am HGDF..” i didnt continue to read because there is no point.

    • wediare March 14, 2015

      @ zigeromo
      I am sure you are not HGDF but you’re licking their asses. If you were tegadalay/agelglot, I am sure you know a lot about this crime. You could say false to us but you can’t say false to your conscience unless you don’t have conscience like your lords-heartless HGDF leaders.

    Yordanos i than you so much for your opennes to the tell us your painful personal story. Well what can i say, there are thousands of Eritrean girls getting raped these days everywhere. Your opennes will definity inspire other victims to speak up and enhance the publics awarness about the existence of this problem. I know many girls who have experienced rape at one stage of their life, especially during the military service, border crossing, in the refugee camps and by the arabs in many middel eastern countries while working as domestic workers. They are not speaking mainly because of cultural barriers, our society is not open minded, we mosegenistic society. Your opennes and hopefully would encourage others. In the end all what i want to say is that you are not alone in this fight. I pray for God to give you the strength to reminded strong and keep your activism.

    Yordanos, thank you for being courageous, thoughtful and moreover outspoken about this matter and I am very saddened to hear what you went through. To be a victim of such hideous act and to be ashamed to express what happened is one of our and other cultures weakness. I hope your story brings the rest of other stories of our sisters out in the open, those who did it to be ashamed and rest of the society to open up and say enough.Individuals who do such despicable act should be punished before they victimize other innocent sisters.

  • Merhawi March 14, 2015

    Zigeremo: You stated you are in support of the dictatorial government, What does the matter have to do with your political position to state that. Then you went on with your thoughtless allegation saying,”most of the story is false”. Contradicting your own statement, you said, ‘I can’t say whether what she said happened’. Then not enough, you said, “I assure you the story is created”.

    Can’t you see how idiotic your comment sound, but when you said you are in support of the criminal mafia in Eritrea, then I excused your comment as you are already suffering psychological malfunction. First you are telling us that ‘Tegadelti’ are some form of a deity. They are men and women, rape happens, but to tell us it does not happen is the most outrageous something someone can say. You tell us it is false, then where is your proof it did not happen, even your mafia would sort you as a garbage.

    Stupid, I don’t usually curse or ill think of others, but I hope one day you get raped not by one but by a group, not for a day, but for a month. Then tell us, you get raped and what happened is wrong and should be corrected. And as a double punishment, we tell you,”no, men does not rape, they are perfect and they are always in control of themselves.”

    I don’t know if you are a man or a woman. However, I don’t think a woman can say what you said, so you are a man. I wish the woman you met knows what you think, and if possible cut your penis. No need for children to learn mentality like yours.

    attitude to defeat those evils in your past .

    Couple days ago I read an article titled ;
    AYA ZEYBLA GUAL BEKHAYIT , in deed HGDF
    mendef leadership betrayed the honor of our
    sisters since Sahel time until present with their
    anti social sentiment .

    I hear Yordanos’ testimony with great interest. My hear goes out for her. At first I was perplexed with inconsistencies of the dates she provided. For instance how can her daughter be 24 years old if she was 18 in 2005 and if Yordanos has fled the country before 1990. I thought about her testimony more and the inconsistencies may just be due to a chapter of her life she didn’t want to remember about. She may have just blocked it off for years and now she is attempting to remember. Based on my careful analysis of her testimony, the following dates may be more acurate. Yordanos may have been born in 1972. In 1979 which is at age 7 she went to the field. In 1985 she was 13 years old when she left Bet Timhrti sewra to become a fighter. In 1987 she was raped resulting with the birth of her daughter. She mau have fled from EPLF some time in 1990. Her daughter must now be 28 years old. I tried all ohter combinations and the numbers don’t add up.
