This man has never bothered to attend a meeting or join a demonstration a few miles a away of where he lives from, but he acts like he knows it all when some heroic acts are done by ordinary Eritreans.This Dr. doesn’t have a clue of what is going on in Eritrea, please spare yours and my time. Please let us react respectful for the way how some body participates. And as far as I know there were so many situations where Brother Asefaw was in the forefront to say or act regarding the core problems of our nation i.e. constitution or rule of low, prisoners release etc and this even in a time where it was everything but popular to speak out such things.
So the very and better question, BROTHER, is what have we others yet done or are ready to.

Dr. Bruke, I take your point with respect, but there were several occasions where he could have made a difference right in his back yard, he didn’t make himself available at some point pretending he was out of town not to attend a demonstration, but sure enough he will squeeze his schedule for an interview like this. He accuses the opposition left and right which I agree with him but I thought he was one of them when he was buddy buddy with Mesfun Hagos at some point in time. whatever happen to that no explanation to this day.

I was not saying that we do not have to criticize some body, I even say that it is some thing which we are lack of, but let us do it in a proper and respectful way, i. e. also accepting the difference in how people see their role and want to be part of. I would like to add my two cents and say that I always deeply appreciate Dr .Assefaw’s analysis and would listen and re-listen to it carefully. In my view, I find it sharp, knowledgeable and objective. I never detected any form of twisting facts to suit any personal and subjective (or partisan) distortions. During, the Arab spring, in an Assenna interview, he said (a gist of it) that these protests that have sprung up by the youth seeking rule of law and democracy will never be extinguished. It will keep on re-emerging until achieved. Contemporary history is proving Dr. Assefaw right. Egypt is a glaring example, as is Tunisia, that nothing short of the real thing will satisfy these young democrats, bumpy and long as the road may be. I think that what Dr. Assefaw says about the situation in our country should be listened to very carefully.
Personally, I do look forward to more interviews of Dr. Assefaw by Assenna, particularly now at this juncture of our volatile times.
