Interesting stories based in facts .
I still couldn’t get it how Issayas managed to take control despite all the warning signs on the past to continue
at this present time . It is obvious that not everybody is corrupted but to watch things go downfall toward wrong
direction because of a single man , a puzzled scenario hard to understand .

      Ahmed,
It is very simple to control a group of people or a country. Additionally, Eritrean are not smart people, because we don’t have the long term vision or dream of our home land and people.

Further, we will need to change the way we fight against PFDJ, and challenge the PFDJ followers, who do not have any respect for their own mums, fathers, brothers, sisters, and their beloved home land. PFDJ followers have very poor vision of their home land and family. Furthermore, they only care about their small huse in Asmara or Massawa. Their dream is very bad, God want allow them to enjoy their lives in their small house without their beloved family and peace.

Unfortunately, the PFDJ leaders are not the main problem for the Eritrean people. The main problem is us, because we allowed PFDJ and its followers to kill our family, destroy Eritrea and dance over our heros for more than 20 years.

We will need to have a long term vision and mission without PFDJ and its followers. This is not about power, when you loss up to 1000 young people every month. This is the right time to fight back and remove all the PFDJ and its followers. We will need to bring the right information to Eritrean. We need to tell them what is need for the country and its people.

Mr Yemane T/Gergish, you are still mis calculating the PFDJ’s long term plan. In my opinion, this is not about power. PFDJ leaders and its followers are the enemy of Eritrean, they are going kill all Eritrean and destroy the country (i.e., Eritrea is a dead country without drinking water, electricity, hospitals, education, road, industry, young people. How can you build a new country without young generation?). Finally, they will create a new Eritrea without Eritrean.

      Shabbai
You missed to realize that hizbawi ginbar was the last target to be eliminated under Issayas calculated techniques to secure his power by replacing by his secretive circle named HGDF . All of those condemned to languish in prisons to die can prove
it all for fair minded observer .

Thank you, Tegdalay Yemane for taking time to share with us the History.

I can’t wait to listen the next segement of your interview.

Again thanks and God Bless you.

  • Berazio August 2, 2014

25 years late but great story, your story seems very credible and will strength the opposition. please stress more about how regionalism was played way before freedom. we know now it is the life line of the Eritrean regime, we need to know when did it start and how was it played to your best knowledge. And if you were influenced by it one way or the other.

  • gedem August 2, 2014

This guy exaggerates a lot and talks like the struggle was worthless crap revolution .he is telling us that each and every moment of the struggle is full of mistakes .According Mr Yemane witness testimony,it is hard to believe a revolution with such kinda flaws to end up in victory.
I am not saying our struggle was perfect but it was one of its kinda and with a lot of scarifies and dedication of the whole Eritrean people.
It is one thing to oppose the government and DIA but it is not accepted belittle the struggle. I got this interview very insulting to our martyrs

    • Eritreawit August 5, 2014

      Gedem,
Before acusing eye witness heros, you mister should ask your self why a leader of a freedom fighter turned to a dictator, Why is he not doing election, why is he leading the country with out a constitution? to stying in powere for 23 years, ( others who knows him well will tell you 40 years). Do you think it is only mister Yeman talking about the crimes of the regime? NO you need to open your eyes, people are talking the fear and teror has been broken, Many telling shocking stories about loosing thier friends and family by the evil dictator secret party, for doing noting but the dictator felt he has compition. READ TESFAY TEMENOW’S BOOK ” ni arba amet ziteqebre gud”

      • gedem August 7, 2014

Don’t be emotional .I don’t need to read a book or listne to Ato yemane to be aware of Dictatorship in Eritrea.the torture and injustice is part of my life .I have seen people being inprisoned and killed because they dont want to serve the dictator .
@Eritreawit I feel pity that you just open your eyes because you heard Ato Yemane ot Ato Tesfay narration about the struggle.

  • Semhar August 2, 2014

    Gedem,

You are so arrogant that you cannot stand the truth. You said “I got this interview very insulting to our martyrs.” You are wrong Yemane is telling us how courageous our martyrs were, how they fought two enemies, the Ethiopians in the front and Isayas in the back. Yemane was one of the courageous liberation fighters who fought against all odds.
He fought against the enemy with all courageous freedom fighters on the battlefield but the devil Isayas was trapping them and hoping they will be finished in the battle he never participated in that battle. He didn’t even let them fight in the broad daylight, which was convenient for them to win the battle.
From the beginning of the revolution our courageous freedom fighters fought two enemies:
    1. Against the Ethiopian army
    2. Against the internal enemy which is the tyrant Ethiopian mercenary Isayas with his blind followers.
In the 1970’s he split the ELF into many groups the ELF, EPLF, ELFPLF, etc.
In 1980 he dissolved the ELF
In 1993 he dissolved the EPLF and replaced it by PFDJ

The tyrant Isayas’ mission is to destroy Eritrea.

    • Gedem August 3, 2014

I respect your comment but I am talking here logically .I am saying if it was full of corruption and mistakes ,I get it hard to believe that it ends up in victory.
Don’t get me wrong that I am not supporting DIA here .What I am saying is according his narration ,it sounds like It was hard to be a freedom fighter in EPLF.I can guess why he is narrating this way but dont wanna to divert the discussion to a different direction .

  • Semhar August 2, 2014

Thank you Yemane for exposing the tyrant dictator, the mad dog, ድያብሎስ Isayas and his blind followers.
Thank you for telling us the truth, how courageous were our freedom fighters, how they won independence and how they failed to implement constitution and how capitulated to the mad dog ድያብሎስ Isayas.
The mad dog Isayas took down the Eritrean Liberation flag, the flag of our martyrs, the flag that united us and took us all the way to victory in 1991. In 1993 without the approval of our people ድያብሎስ Isayas replaced our liberation flag by his own burned flag.

In 1993 the mad dog ድያብሎስ Isayas without the consent of our people he dissolved our historical provinces and replaced them by his own Zobas.
In 1993 the mad dog Isayas
dissolved the law of the land “HIGHI INDABA” and replaced it by his own MAFIA Law.
The mad dog ድያብሎስ Isayas refused to implement the constitution.
2014 is the year that we dismantle the crazy mad dog ድያብሎስ Isayas wedi Medhin Berad, his son, and his blind followers HIGDEF just like the Libyans did to Gadafi, his sons and his followers.

Down to the mad dog, the tyrant dictator and his followers!
    Victory to our people!

    Gedam and Semhar….

I think Gedam has half truth. As Gedam pointed out on his first sentence……”According Mr Yemane witness testimony,it is hard to believe a revolution with such kinda flaws to end up in victory….”. However I wanted to replay to Gedam’s comment by saying – That is why the struggle took so long. Eritrean people were behind the struggle but the leadership was so full of internal friction and unruly street smart leadership and failed to bring independent soon to save many innocent young Eritreans. At the end though – TPLF achieved their aim by using Eritrean scarifies but Eritrean people are still bleeding. Well, there is some truth to my point just see where TPLF is and where EPLF and Eritrean people are.

    Semhar:

Your comments regarding the chronological order here is my reply:

Exodus of Eritreans to foreign lands is simply due to complete failure of EPLF in the liberation years and HEGDEF post independence years. The Exodus, the number of Eritreans who fled Eritrea will never ever return home. And I repeat, the number that might return back home at best will be 10%. In some instances, Eritrea is better off not having some of these people who fled Eritrea return back home regardless of their reason. Almost every Eritrean who left Eritrea and from inside Ethiopia by far is due to current Eritrean government. Exodus of Eritreans from 1970’s 1983’s due to Ethiopian brutality – To the most part because some had already left the struggle and started moving to western countries for they had seen some trouble in the unruly Eritrean leadership or wanted to save their own soul. Exodus of Eritreans from 1985 until 2014 simply due to self (EPLF and HEGDEF) inflicted issues and problems. So Semhar , let us call facts and reality as they stand. Most people who fled Several cities in the former “Ethiopia” joined the struggle. Most Eritrean people who are fleeing current Ethiopia and Eritrea is left the country – if you ask why – it is simply due to complete failure of Eritrean Gov. I have seen them all a young person and was disgusted in almost all of them. What I saw is nothing to what others have gone through and seen in their life inside and outside Eritrea.

So Semhar – easy on Gedam. He said it like he saw it.

Now back to Yemane’s two comments and paraphrasing…

“(1)After Issayas put a gun on fellow tegadalai for asking a question ever tegadalai put their gun down and stopped questioning whereabouts of their fellow brothers in jail”. (2) “Issayas ordered everyone to lay down. Including pregnant women, children, and elderly people” and everyone did”.

I will add a different twist – none of the tegadelti had guts to stand up for their own when a gun was drown at his head. They sold him out for to one “crazy leader” according to Yemane. is it not that every person joined the struggle to die for a worthy cause? Then what is worthy than dying for your partner and team. Issayas is not crazy. He does what will keep him going. As to the Eritrean people – well I would question if I could trust anyone. Another latest Example is January 21 where a single man stood up against Issayas and no one could back him up – sold him out. But he is a real man. Sadly he is not in his world anymore.

As we go on and listen to stories – we learn the failed struggle leadership. Sadly enough many have left Eritrea for good and a lot more have given their innocent lives to the struggle….. Issays still holding to power and Eritrea still in paralysis…..and tomorrow is never here….???

    Peace and Freedom to Eritrea…..

I agree with the statement above. But I disagree with your pessimist premise on Eritrea. Eritrea will rise as our founding fathers dreamt of — as a great Arab nation in East Africa. There are still many of our Arab brothers who want to live and settle in the good climate of the habeshas. Heroic and smart brothers want to come from Yemen, Sudan and Egypt and settle in Eritrea and marry the pretty and obidient habesha women. You don’t need all these good for nothing diaspora eritreans who think like a westernized Ferenji. We need our Arab brothers to settle because it is easy to put down roots for Arab speakers in Eritrea — an Arab nation. this is the reason we support the Eritrean just struggle from the feudal Haylasalase.
Mike, you need to be easy on Semhar. She knows what she is talking about. she is the smartest woman here.
