The con artist isaias afecherqi denigrates the so called “Eritrean oppositions” as Hatela, and they refer him as Wlqe Melaki.
Now, lets see which one of the two seemingly adversaries deliver the strongest punch. But before we make our motion to make our verdict, we must analyze the two terms, Hatela and Wlqe Melaki.
Hatela is a Tigrigna word which is applied to residual of food products that is mostly given to nonhuman animals. The word is also commonly used by our Tigrigna population as a metaphor to portray the worthlessness of a person; glet, gohaf, shnti, harE etc. are other word-metaphors that are deployed for similar ends.
Wlqe-Melaki is a composite word, a modern Tigrigna terminology that has developed during our revolutionary era, the meaning of which, therefore, many Tigrigna peasants, or even some town dwellers, may not grasp.
However, the irony of this composite word is not limited to its incomprehensibility by its target population but they may understand it in paradoxical ways because the word Melaki may connote victorious, strong etc. and our people love people with such quality.
Unfortunately, the irony does not end with the linguistic implication of the word. The fact that the con artist, isaias afecherqi is sitting in Asmera, displacing the colonialist by force, and the so called “oppositions” are in addis abeba with the defeated scraped colonial enemy, casts their image in the eyes of our population as nothing but enemy Trojan Horses.
In the world of propaganda, therefore, without a doubt, the con artist isaias afecherqi is heaviest puncher, and herein lies the reason for his intransigence.
But again who would join that which his people had discarded in the bin of trash? Only the gohaf him/herself. Isn’t it? ……. Yes indeed, that is the only inference that can be drawn.
