Brig. General Gebrehiwet Zemichael passes away
Asmara, 15 January 2015 – Veteran fighter Brig. General Gebrehiwet Zemichael (Wedi-Liqe) passed away on January 13 at the age of 59 due to sudden illness.
The late Brig. General Gebrehiwet joined the popular liberation forces in 1973 and served in various capacities both before independence and after the attainment of Eritrea’s total liberation.
The veteran fighter is married and father of three.
Expressing deep sorrow over the passing away of Brig. General Gebrehiwet Zemichael (Wedi-Liqe), the Ministry of Defense conveys condolence to the bereaved family of the veteran fighter. The Ministry further indicated that the funeral service of Brig. General Gebrehiwet would be announced through the national media outlets.

If at all Eritreans have to say it loud that they want to join Ethiopia for future economic factors not the other way. We have a big marker and strong economy how come Ethiopians can think of bringing back a nationa thats already recognized by the UN.
This case is closed and there is no point of return!
Please do not try to twist facts.
We are neighbours and will remain neighbours unless you request to join with Ethiopia, Thats whats happening with Djibouti, which was part of Ethiopia but is a recognised autonomous country and can claim to join back and we have a say as to say OK or NO.
There is nothing special with Eritrea you can claim to join with Ethiopia and this is not something that can be done just because you want to join Ethiopia, We Ethiopians will have a final say as to wether its good to accept you come back or reject.

Well said.This is an Eritrean issue and others better back off when it comes to us and our issues. As to the ESAT reporters, their mission is exactly in line with that of isayas which is to hand over Eritrea to Ethiopia. To hear them proudly say that Asmara looks just like any other Ethiopian town is funny though. Because we know Asmara has nothing in common with anything Ethiopian. After all even though it was built by Eritreans, it was the Italians who designed it. This is a fact. isayas is using his cruelty to make Eritreans stand against their identity which they have paid dearly for because he knows that way no one would stand in his way of using Massawa and Assab as a bargaining chip. I say good luck with that because when you come down to it Eritreans are a tough nut to crack.
