The Italians build more towns in the highlands. They were mostly small but they were true urban nucleus, trading centres, homes of craftsmen, gold smiths, shoe makers, shop keepers, tailors etc. The highlands were enabled to acquire modern urban culture and brought about the birth of the working class, administrators, lawyers and various other professions.
