He is talking about “media distortion” of Africa. I disagree with the author. If he he wants a “good image” of Africa, he should clean his own houses first, that is, we should clean our own houses. If we do not clean our houses, then the bad image will continue. Therefore, I disagree with all his assessments. The author is barking at the wrong tree.
With all its resources, Africa can do it but he and we all need to clean ours. The problem is not in the media, the problem is in our heads because we have no respect to ourselves, values, languages and identity.
There was once a movie I watched about how the west was collecting money from the rich people. The aid workers were stealing the money. The poor in Africa never got anything except bad press. The poverty level would change or improve, but it never does because the money never reaches the poor.
