In CNN’s Multichoice African Journalism Award, the Free Press award went to Seyoum Tsehaye of Eritrea whose wife received the prize because Seyhoum is in jail for daring to report that some journalists and politicians he previously met in jail were incarcerated without trial. CNN/
Seyoum Tsehaye was born in Tukul in 1952 from his father Tsehaye Woldemariam and his mother Roma Solomon. His father was the owner of Bar Da’Osta at Campobollo in Asmara.
