The PFDJ leader, Isaias Afewerki is expected to hold a meeting with his supporters in New York, on Sunday 25, 2011, after the event which was scheduled to take place at Washington DC Convention Center has been canceled.

Sources indicate the meeting has been diverted to New York due refusal of a travel permit by the State Department, which Isaias and his PFDJ group were keen to get. 

This event has been kept secret by the PFDJ in order to outmanoeuvre the opposition rally organisers who are planning a demonstration in New York, on Monday 26th Spetember. Following the disruption of the PFDJ’s ambassador meeting in Leeds, UK, by Eritrean youth, the PFDJ has been cautious in announcing such events openly.

The PFDJ has been busy disseminating invitations to its trusted supporters silently; but many have now started to complain about the lack of accurate information and confusion.
