I don’t see an old man in front raw. but any way its funny think that these are the men who going to fight woyane. i see why we lost the war against woyane. these men are not even equipped to protect their women from demhits and they want to fight woyane. Sad.

  • ghenet December 14, 2013

This is really sad! These poor sad faces say it all. We do not have to ask about their lives and families! I can’t believe our people are going through hell while we bicker over issue that minor and irrelevant!

    • hawiki December 14, 2013

yes sad sad but lets come to the reality of our sadness, what you see here is karma. yesterday these same sad men were not protesting it i mean even silently they did not ! what they did was enforcers and clappers when the kids were forced to the army – i hope you doing something about it yourself my sister,

I called home (Eritrea) yesterday. I could not reach my brother, 63. His daughter is being married in Lidet. I was told that my brother, 63, farmer, was ordered to report for defense duty even though he needed to prepare for his child’s wedding. I posted this comment to confirm the above comment. Yes, old men are being told to report. What a shame!

    • hawika December 14, 2013

sorry to read this. but why are they not saying embiley aymbrkekin!!!! ???? i hope you are doing enough to educate your brother that he does deserve better. that is the only way educate inspire them to know that they dont deserve what they getting and they can only change it.

do you think you are more enlightened about tyranny?how insulting, you are arrogant and you have no clue how dictatorship works, because you have accesses to information does not mean you understand the fact on the ground, you escape from hell but you want others to fight the devil with superior weapons and security forces, but one thing they do not want is lecture from you about what is good or bad for them because they are living it and they know it is hell.

        • Semhar December 14, 2013

          Yonas,
Then let them be slaves and die as slaves.
It’s shame to kneel down and be a slave to wed Medina Berad while you are armed.

          • danny December 15, 2013

            Semhar,

Are you an Eritrean? If you are why do you ask of courage and action from the old men on the picture? why don’t you show them the road to freedom? If you don’t lead and act, you are as much a slave as they. There is no them and us here. If you are an Eritrean, the burden of slavery is equally shared.

          • abab December 15, 2013

            Semhar.
Please I want to tell you some thing. I felt you think these men have wepon
And when they are in a hell why they don’t act but they are kneel down. The main thing is the dictator spreads propaganda secretly. First from no where messege comes. Just people say the government is planing this if any one reacts that’s death or prison. So all of them have got the messege secretly by 03 of the dictator. After the dictators servants start their job. There are very few individuals secretly day and night work intirely hard serve the dictator. The people are told that. If the secret servants dont do their job they will be kild. If they are known to the public they will be kild. They dont do the job voluntarly. They do it by force. Because they are not happy to do it they tell to people there are secret layers. But they can’t admit them selves. So the people don’t trust each other. This is how dictators survive.
I hope you will take a small thing to understand why our fathers are not acting but accepting slavery.

        Hawka
What you have to understand is there is no trust between people. Even one family. These all are on the same sad life but very few of them are brain washed and secretly reporters to the dictators servants. So they can’t communicate. Any one puts any suggestion that will cost him the list goin to prison. That’s why they can’t act but can’t wait to see action from us.

        • hawiki December 15, 2013

i know there is no trust , i know there is no informaion i know there is nothing there we are very ignorant as nation i don’t think some of us know what is right and wrong so for those who know somthing shouuld teach those who don’t know instead of screaming in forums we should educate whenever the chance arise. that is all i am sayn.

You merciless opportunist, you dont know half of it what these old peopel went through. They hold these guns because they are ordered to do so. If they dont they die. They have done what ever good or bad in their younger age. What they are living now is to see the eyes of their cihildren and grand children from wherever part of the world they are for last time. They dont carry to kill anyone but to let the days and the night to continue until they meet their families in Peace. And you and the like you know that guns only let the common People in terror.

I know how derg gave Klanshkov even for People who dont how to shoot. But the terror they send around the neighbours is still in my face. But you are useless you can not Digest such information.

Who else do we have to blame but ourselves (“the youth”)? The generation that fought for independence shouldn’t be the same one’s building the country. Where and when was this picture taken? What’s the context? You can’t simply post a picture and add no background to it. Does the audience a disservice.

  • Yerhiwo December 14, 2013

    Very sad!!

  • Hailu December 14, 2013

We shouldn’t be surprised about what is happening in this picture because this is their life. How the government is treating our people is very sad, especially when you see it in a picture like this. We have to wake up and work together to free our people and beloved country, Eritrea.

  • i and i December 14, 2013

I THINK WE ETHIOPIANS AND ERITREANS ARE THE DUMBEST PEOPLES IN THE WORLD.

    • moss December 15, 2013

Kkkk soooo true.congra to ethiopians, we are way below u guys on a dumbness scale.we havw no idea or perception of the God given right.we are so dumb that we obey and march to our deathe.

  • Kalighe December 14, 2013

    “WHEN WILL THIS END” ??????

Well, it could end soon if people resist.
People resist when they see others are joining them. When left alone individuals are easily manipulated to work against each other. This is exactly what is happening in Eritrea. Unless the culture changes, there is no way our suffering can end. Indifference is the most dangerous weakness we have, and Higdef has been using it to turn us against each other, to do whatever they want against the people and the country.

If you keep silent while you see others are being mistreated on the road, it won’t be long before the same happens to you. It’s naive to think we are safe while others are suffering. We should known that a system is not made for individuals, if it’s bad, then it’s bad for all, if it’s good, it’s good for all. In a dictatorship nobody is safe, it’s a matter of time before all of us suffer and regret for not having done something when “others” being targeted.

  • Kereny December 15, 2013

It is not only your brother but also your father is kept as a slave by Issais. If you donot believe what you see you need to see your doctor as soon as possible, because you are far from the reality world.
