Eritreans who are preparing to stage a grand demonstration tomorrow in New York to condemn the PFDJ regime and call the UN to press on its sanctions against the dictator have unleashed their initial strike by organising a powerful protest today 25th September, in front of the hall booked by the PFDJ so that its leader Isaias Afewerki to hold a meeting of his supporters. Organisers and participants of the protest speak to Voice of Asena about the spirit of the demonstrators and the atmosphere around the PFDJ supporters who were passing by to attend the meeting.

“Eti t’fetwo neger kitrekib, t’fetwo neger kits’w’E aleka” Ato Tekhlay Abraha.
That is what I call a relentless spirit of an Eritrean. This is what I call unbridled spirit of an Eritrean. If Eritrea is to see further than others, Eritrea will have to stand on the shoulders of giants who are taking on tyranny of Isaias as his coward followers break under duress as he puts an ultimatum on their lives. But again as Ato Tekhlay (one of the brave demonstrators) aptly put it, “Eti t’eftwo neger kitrekib, t’fetwo neger kits’w’E aleka.” Isaias’ apologists may have some sort of needed advantage that would impede them from standing up to him, but the real character of a man is tested, as one has to make difficult but a just choice where if need be, one has to sacrifice things that he or she dears most in a bid to gain the well being of the multitude. I say, all the power to all Eritreans who are standing up to tyranny. And I say, Amanuel Eyasu all the power to you hawey as well.

Thank you Amanuel,
What a wonderful job !!I would have been sad today if i had not listened the demonstration against the dictator at the PFDJ THUGS NY meeting. you become a voice to voiceless . It would be shame to let those who sold their pride to support a dictator. It is very sad to lift the mood of the dictator by traveling thousand of miles while their own people being humiliated daily.
Tseba astekana tseba sete. you left the supporters of the dictator wounded and burn with shame while most diaspora become the voice of their people at home , these Eritreans are like kem gele .
Stefanos Temolso September 26, 2011
You did a great job! Though it is your national duty, I commend your valiant struggle against the brutal tyrant. He must have no peace whereever he goes. Alas! I feel very sorry fir the death of Gilay whom I knew from the olden days of the struggle. He was a nice guy even if he happened to be the body guard of the evil dictator. Go on march carrying the banner of our martyrs high!!!!
Mehret Ghebreyesus September 26, 2011
Aman,
We are very proud of you and our compatriots in New York to become the voice for our voice-less people who are suffering in the hands of our home-grown tyranny! I hope those who attended the tyrant’s seminar will ask themselves: why do I continue to enable the regime to destroy the country my brothers and sisters died for? Why is Isaias ruling my country – unelected, with no constitution and no rule of law? Why do I chose to support him when he has turned Eritrea into an open-prison where hundreds of thousands of young boys and girls are either held prisoners in the name of the eternal national service or are perishing while fleeing the country out of desperation! These and many other questions should be asked by any Eritrean who claims to love his or her country and people.
Thank you again for this first-of-its-kind demonstration right on his face. He should realize that the tears of Eritrean mothers and the youth will not go in vain. His days are numbered.
Victory to free Eritrea and Eritrean!

What are YOUR plans Ms G????
Are you really thinking for the people of Eritrea??? Wow, this is refreshing because I don’t thing you have any planned strategies FOR the people of ERITREA!!!
You were living up YOUR life while real Eritreans where shedding their limps and blood to get independence. Therefore, you could go back to your old habits eating Kitfo with your compatriots and leave Erireans handle free and independent Eritrea – NO MATTER WHAT!

abdi, if Amanuel jigna did were not a justice and democracy advocate, you would not be able to post your nonsense in this website. If you believe that the rogue regime you support is supported by the Eritrean people, why not demand that its websites are open to the public for scrutiny and importantly, why not allow the Eritrean people to vote for whomever they like. There are tests the regime must pass to be described as for “justice of democracy” and the regime has failed each of them, miserably. Unless you are yourself a hostage, you cannot consider a gathering of diaspora hostages and opportunists suffering from a major case of Stockholm syndrome, a gathering that shows the Eritrean people are in full support of the sanctioned unelected president. Again, the majority of Eritreans reside inside Eritrea, the test must be performed inside Eritrea.

why do u do a little more research about the Egypt and all others….before u open your mouth. Trust me it is a matter of time and u know that is why he keep kicking the foreign agencies….
belezet September 27, 2011
Eritreawi, research? Why, when there is Eri TV and betsehet doing all the unbiased research. Seriously though, diaspora most PFDJ supporters have neither the ability nor the willingness to check if what they read or head corresponds to “truth”. Some are so lazy that prefer synthesized and sensationalized PFDJ lies that are published at meshrefet.net, over any of the PFDJ detailed lies published in official PFDJ media outlets.
ANE baeley September 28, 2011
I can say one thing about this person who write non stop comment about PFDJ
THE DOG BARKS ”””””” do u get it?????
