November 18, 2011
H.E Mrs. U. Joy Ogwu
President of the Security Council
United Nations
New York, New York
Excellency,
As the UNSC approaches the final hours of making the historic decision, on the basis of the recommendation of the Somalia and Eritrea Monitoring Group’s July 18, 2011 report to the Sanction Committee, we, the Diaspora based Eritrean Civic organizations, make a final appeal to the entire Security Council to approve a strong and firm sanction on the leadership of the State of Eritrea, PFDJ, all entities and individuals that facilitate and advance the illegal policies and actions of the Eritrean government contrary to Resolution 1907.
We would like to bring to the attention of the UNSC members that the last minute maneuvering by the Eritrean President to appear in front of the Security Council (SC) is a delaying tactic. The Eritrean government had plenty of opportunity, from December 23, 2009 to present day, to prove to the SC that it had fully complied with the unambiguous demands enumerated in Resolution 1907.
For almost two years the government of Eritrea has been creating layers of excuses to avoid its responsibility of addressing the demands outlined by resolution 1907. On the contrary, as the Monitoring Group’s extensive and detailed July 18, 2011 report demonstrates, the Eritrean government has increased and expanded its support to groups that are determined to destabilize the entire Horn of Africa region.
The Report is the work of experts designated by SC. The SC has the legal responsibility of basing its decision on facts collected by its experts. Compliance not other tangential issue is the agenda of the SC.
Excellency,
Had the Eritrean government been serious about its respect for the international body- the UNSC- it had three distinct opportunities to come clean and inform the UN and UNSC that it had complied with Resolution 1907:
- When H.E. Mr. Osman Saleh-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Eritrea made his statement before the United Nations Security Council Informal Interaction Dialogue on July 19, 2011.
- When President Isaias Afeworki addressed the 66th. Session of the UN General Assembly on September 23, 2011.
- When the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Eritrea presented Eritrea’s Response to the Report of the Somalia Eritrea Monitoring Group Report on October 17, 2011.
Unfortunately the pattern of behavior of the Eritrean government and its top leadership is advancing the rhetoric of absolute denial in the face of overwhelming concrete evidences. The underlining question is simple: Has the Eritrean government complied with Resolution 1907 or not. The SC mandated experts report says: it has not complied. Since that is the case we feel UNSC must adopt and implement the entire recommendation of the Monitoring Group based on the expert’s report.
The Eritrean government request for President Isaias to address the Security Council should not be taken seriously. What is it that the President can explain to the august gathering that his Foreign Minister and top advisor have not said to the UNSC when they were given an opportunity on July 19, 2011 to engage the SC in an Informal Interactive Dialogue or on the Eritrea’s Response of October 17, 2011? No other sanctioned leader has ever been given the opportunity to further consume the time of the Security Council. The SC cannot afford to create a negative precedent. President Isaias’s request must be denied as a matter of principle.
The Eritrean government leadership has both in its internal and external policy, behavior and actions a total disregard to the fundamental principle of rule of law and accountability. We take this opportunity to remind the SC that this is the only government that has no constitution 20 years after independence. To us Eritreans its illegal and adventurous regional and global behavior is a mere reflection of its draconian internal lawless authoritarian “governance”. We base our appeal on this fundamental understanding.
The UNSC owes the people of Eritrea and the Horn of Africa region a resounding confirmation that it stands with them by expanding and strengthening Resolution 1907 with additional stronger sanction.
Excellency,
Should the UNSC fail to act and deliver a stronger sanction that could send unequivocal message demanding that the Eritrean government and all its entities must comply with all aspects Resolutions of 1907 and stop being a regional sponsor of terrorist elements; the SC will be responsible for the probability of another devastating regional conflagration.
It is time to act and stop giving an irresponsible government a breathing space.
Sincerely,
SeyoumTesfaye

It just makes one wonder what do the sadistic woyanes feed these idiots to become such a damn azz’s. They open their letter as a ‘final appeal’, followed by ‘we would like to bring to your attention…’ Then after brief insult of the readers mind, the sternly tell them what the SEMG is and what their ‘agenda’ should be. After, ‘clarifying’ how the UNSC and PIA should have scheduled meetings, it is back at sternly telling the UNSC what ‘questions’ it shall ask and how it shall ‘process’ it. It counsels how the UNSC should conduct ‘ethical business’ tell them how to do it, ‘deny the request’. Having indulged on a bit more ‘insulting the reader’s intellect’ they go for the kill… Should it ‘FAIL’ it will be ‘responsible’ for some kind of probability (shudder’s one’s spine!). And after telling what ‘Time’ it is, the make a short shrift exist by calling the Secretary General aptly ‘just with name…no title no sh!tting) and referring the addressee ‘representatives of SC (not their stupid home countries)’ And guess what … as you scroll down the woyane implant Seyoum’s name comes up…err time to look the other way.

Your argumentation lacks maturity. As zemen beraki said it, you are realy a guy who “has not paid with the blood of a brother, a father, a sister an uncle or an aunt in the struggle for freedom.” Please switch at least the left brain side if you have a brain at all – God gave presumably eyes and ears, but you seem to be deliberately blind and deaf as well. This is by the way the nature the DIA followers.
What do you think where the origin of the sinai-drama is? It is the Agame & Co ruling in our father land Eritrea. But all Agames will see what soon comes , at least after the investigation, that the ICC (International criminal court) is making, is concluded.
zemen beraki November 17, 2011
Qozami like your name are a qozami because you are pretending to be an advocate of the eritrean people whereas u r a stooge of Isayas. For your knowledge the Eritrean people are already under sanction by the Isayas regime since 2005 when he banned all importation and consrtruction work by private companies or individuals. Dont you know that like medieval times you can not take a kilo of coffee or 10 kilos of mesheøa from Teseney to Asmara??? You may also be a person that has not paid with the blood of a brother, a father, a sister an uncle or an aunt in the struggle for freedom. So, it is natural that u want to have it the way it is now. Very miserable for us Eritreans but excellent for you and your cohorts. Stop being a thug and a puppet of the regime start thinking as an Eritrean. The Regime forbade the Eritrean youth to lear by shutting the only university, but Ethiopia opened it for them. What a paradox!!!
Kozami November 17, 2011
PIA is a hero and bigger than life in the heart of many Eritreans. Woyane paid mercenary of your sort wouldn’t even be worthy of licking the dust off his size 9 sandals, let alone call him on first name basis. Let alone the hardship you salivate about, Eritrean’s have shared a single ‘kolo’ to get by. When time comes and you get off your empty bravado, you will realize it takes perseverance to advance oneself. Just running to the sadistic woyane for meager stipend doesn’t cut it. Tell woyane to give education to the 1 million street dweller Ethiopians. Tell it to give it to the young teacher Yenesew Gebre (29) who set himself ablaze. Tell it to the multitude of Ethiopian intelligentsia rotting in woyane jails. Tell it to the people of Ogadien whose villages are raised to the ground, tell it to the Oromos whose land is confiscated and leased. Tell it to the 200 young students gunned down in the streets of addis ababa. Who you trying to kid here, you are a sold out renegade who has become the eyesore of the Eritrean people for woyane cramps. You can lie and lie about our beloved nation but nhna nsu nsu nhna was what you gotten after your useless decade long lying, for which the woyane would ask you for their mony back…ms’om tetsebtseb
Fetawihaki November 18, 2011
Kozami stop kozaming and stop supporting PIA, instead try to help your fleeing tens of thousands eritrean bros and sis from their beloved country, if you are really an eritrean.
Kaddis November 18, 2011
Kozami – I have been reading your comments lately and found it defensive all the time. You are a victim of Shabia’s world of denial. Denial is not helping Eritrea at all. You are making it easy for the judges ( UN, AU ..) When the accused deny; all the judge have to prove is the event only happened. It doesn’t have to look for a motive like self defense or so. Kenya and Ethiopia is going in and out of Somalia but they lobby a lot around the cause ( whether justifiable or not). And they are going away with a chunk of support. But Eritrea, invades and deny, sell weapon and deny, lock G15 and ask to forget others and more. 2009 sanction was lavied while Eritrea was denying. The looming one may happen while denial is brought as a defense.
So, Gash Kozami – denying and trying to indicate others crime doesn’t make Eritreas fault right. You are too smart to fall for Shabia.
PFDJ(Popular Front for Dictatorship and Jail) November 18, 2011
Kozami … idiot
Are you trying to teach us that Your regime is better than Ethiopian regime?
what a mad man! go to school and make your head to think, your brain is already stuck.
you always use the same fashion, why dont you see your home before you are trying to figure out others problem.
do you forget Eritrea becomes open air prison?
do not realize that thousands of Eritreans are fleeing to every direction? do you forget that your regime has shoot killing policy on these who try to go out of the hell? don’t you know that Eritrea is 2nd in the world in refuges next to Somalia?
then are you try to accuse all these who flees to Ethiopia everyday for not helping your tyrant boss? you always teach our people by saying that Ethiopia is our enemy, Tigraians are our enemy, but u r liar, for sure just it is about time, you will be a victim of the hgdef mendef even these who are in power like Haile durE, Shirifo.. and so on just became a victim of the blood sucker of ISayas cancer of peace.
@last,why you always barking to woyane,Ethiopia, USA…AU…?you know all the truth, but even if you know it, you get it hard to talk it !
what a crazy are you? think for mass rather than feeding yourself from the money of our people.
you love it or hate it your number is counting, like father like son, like gaddafi, isayas will follow him.
stand up for the right of our people, not for the tyrant cancer of peace regime?
simon haile November 18, 2011
Are you competent to making your point without using foul words? Just be civilised. Been polite or well-bred dose not cost you much.
Abdi November 20, 2011
@EPDJ
you must be deaf and blind to compare Ethiopia govt to Eritrea, you should read the genocide committed in Ogaden, the crimes on oromo, the sale out of the fertile lands while kicking the indigenous out with no alternative shelter, the arrests everyday from oromos and others under terrorism.law, you idiot Agames are the only people who happy with the govt in Ethiopia others already reached the level of burning themselves, but the unjust western world turn blind eye on the crimes committed there to keep their puppet meles in power.thank god we don’t have these pains in Eritrea, and our people are happy with the gov’t of Eritrea
daniel November 21, 2011
The west is not angry with PFDJ because the human right abuse and atrocities in ERTRA ,but they are un happy because Isayas’s involvement in Somalia , they don’t care even if he kills 100,000 Eritreans ,that is the sad thing about this whole issue , because of that PFDJ can avoid sanctions ,but if ERTRA was rich country like Libya ,Iraq or Qwet , they would have removed him from power long time ago ,so I don’t have any confidence or hope on the west or UNSC to bring any kind of change in Eritrea!
so all of you PFDJs and supporters you don’t have to stress too much . the only thing you should fear is not the diaspora opposition ,not USA , not UN ,not Ethiopia, but when the men and women IN ERITREA who had enough of your crimes and misery explode in rage and anger resentment and grabs you by your throat that is when you are finished it is a matter of time but I don’t know when!
sador November 18, 2011
change cames through struggle why the eritrean opposition groups need change through UN ?????????? Therefor if the opposition groups can not bring basically themselvs chance never happens for ever

For your information, do you know Ethiopia is the highest reciepient in finnancial assistance from the
west comparing other African countries. Don’t you think they receive funds to accomodiate the Eritrean
refugees.
Abdi November 20, 2011
Oh!do you think they are accommodating, funding and educating the refugees because they love their eye color?wake up they get paid for everything they helped them with from the UNHCR and from USA for organizing and training the opposition to overthrow PIA,
Eritrea is accommodating training and feed ethiopian oppositions and refugees from its own pocket,i don’t understand why Eritrea doesn’t claim her expenses back?any one knows why?bzey tserfi pls(eti Ebud si dehan, natey ele hizeyo eye)
ahmed Saleh November 18, 2011
For too long PIA’s arrogance and rigidity sentiment against political reforms has been tolerated. On the past he had
refused to play a role as a partner with international group on world’s politics as a leader. True enough many have
begun to doubt this is the case after observing the HGDF political nature. Nowadays PIA ends up in a position to
become a player in political arena at U.N. alone. I guess he made the choice on insisting having his own way how
to govern and not to make any political adjustments. Not surprisngly but unfortunately under these circumstances
the UNSC may plan to execute a stradegy to highlight the leadership of HGDF by sending a strong message in
seeking to end their behavior. You will see, Security Council will you this sanction to expose the increasing
diplomatic isolationof the regime regarding power abuse, surpressing its own citizens and violating human right.
As a leader and a politician one thing is certain, you can not recover from something bad credibility, that is the
sad fact. PIA always count on his constiuency the HGDFwian which is not smart move. You earn what you deserve
in this political era of the century. Flexibility is a power in the game of politics.
HGDF November 18, 2011
Who could be surprised if a Jihadist, who can show no mercy on innocent people and kills them by planting landmines or suicide attack , calls for more sanctions that may starv innocent people ?
Who could be surprised if a regionalist, who cares only about his tiny district, calls for more sanctions that may starv the entire country as long as he can find way to save people from his district?
Who could be surprised if a Tribalist, who cares only about his clan, calls for more sanctions that may starv Eritrea as long as he can ask the UN and “friends” that people from his clan are victimes and should be treated specially?
Who could be surprised if a Jebha warlord, who cares only about his liberation era fame, calls for more sanctions that may starv the entire country as long as he can find a way to retaliete on Shabia and get to power?
Who could be surprised if a opportunist, who cares only about his individual well-being, calls for more sanctions that may starv the entire country as long as he and his relatives are not touched by it?
daniel November 18, 2011
Eritreans are already starving there won’t be any change there!! as far as Eritreans are concerned, imagine it will cost u $40 nakfa to buy a killo of tomato the same with onion and the average income for working Eritrean is $500 nakfa a month , if you go to restaurant for one dish it will cost between 50 to 100 nakfa, how could any one think it is affordable ,inflation out of control ,yes that is “self reliance” that is the bullshit propaganda that TV Ere is on about, but the sanction will hurt WEDI AFOM and HIGDEF as a whole, if it is targeted at them, hope fully that is what will happen, but the UN is not doing this for us Eritreans ,they are doing it for them selves ,if it was for us they should have done it long time ago back in 2001 when WEDI AFOM went mad and unleash his evilness on his comrades and on our maryters and the country.
You HIGDEFS are very sad ppl ,Ethiopians don’t actually have to do any thing at the moment, whether there is sanction or not ,the nation is headed for distraction with the way this HIGDER is ruling it ,if young ppl keep fleeing in masses who will defend ERITREA and who will Take over!! WEDI AFOM doesn’t care about the country as long as he is in power.
HGDF November 18, 2011
Can you imagine what the prices could be if the UN puts economic sanctions on Eritrea? What do you mean economic sanction targeted at wedi afom? Stopping him from buying toyota 4wd? lol.
simon haile November 18, 2011
The living cost is going up all over the world. I don’t know in which planet you live on. ‘’ You said inflation out of control,’’
Why is Eritrea different from the rest of the world. The Euro zone is going out of the control country’s are going bankrupt left and right. The mighty USA is pleading CHINA. This all would affect our people.
Self reliance the only way going forward. Just think for the next 10 or 20 years not only for now.
Thank you

Why the letter of Daniel is not posted in this web?
Thank you
HGDF November 18, 2011
Hey! if you are asking why, there are so many why’s. Like for example; why Assenna posts defections and defeats by Eritrean players but no victory like the cycling team victory? Do you think Assenna likes such questions? He is a smart “free press” guy. That means he is free to choose what he has to post. And don’t forget that his scanning equipmet only scans bank cheques like that of “PIA account in China”. Scanning Daniel’s letter will produce too little $ or no $ at all for Assenna. Infact it will make him lose his Meles fund. This guy called Daniel has just got trapped because he was not a smart “free press” guy like Amanuel.
In the 40-year-old Eritrean opposition history, too many unsmart opposition members have been thrown away. The smarter ones have survived. You must be smart enough to shift positions from communist to capitalist, from jihadist to crusader, from regionalist to democrat, from traitor to nationalist, from journalist to politician, from cvic society to political organization, from human rights activist to a politician, from a human traffiker to Refugee rights activist and so on.
daniel November 18, 2011
Who cares about Sport any way I hate sport, sport is one way of diversion of people’s attention it is over rated ,sport doesn’t do any thing for a country, sport may be good for individual to keep fit that is all
this tactic is used in the west and in a lot of country’s for the government to divert attention of the ppl
and to stir up a nationalist feeling in a nation and to prevent them knowing what is really going on in their country .
sport is another part of the Media like music and all the programs u see on TV these days entertainment and controlling of ppl,s mind with their Corporate propaganda
I would have been happy had Eritrea won the war against Ethiopia and regain our territory which is occupied since 2000 ,But this Dictator almost lost the whole country , almost ordered the troops to withdraw from ASSAB ,thanks to Haile Wedi chaina, told him over my dead body and saved Assab from Ethiopia, if it wasn’t for him, this Dictator would have handed over Assab and now we would have been at war with Ethiopia to capture it again, he is good for nothing ,he is not good for war time leadership and peace time leadership, he should just leave our country alone before he hand over the whole country to Woyane ,I don’t trust WEDI AFOM.
simon haile November 18, 2011
Daniel,
Take it easy, just come down and think. We didn’t lost the war. Infect we have won against 80 million Ethiopian people and believe it or not we won against the Americans. Under the leadership H.E President Isaias. That is our history thanks to the Government of Eritrea and the Eritrean defence force period.
Thank you
simon haile November 18, 2011
HGDF,
Very good point.
Victory like the Eritrean cycling team the web master Mr. A and his Bosses from south of the river they want be happy if he reports the good achievements of our young eritrean sports man and woman.
This proves as there is no such thing called free speech and free journalism.
