INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED ERITREAN ARTIST MICHAEL ADONAI HAS BEEN CHOSEN AS THE RECIPIENT OF THE AFRICAN-AUSTRALIAN EXCELLENCE OF THE YEAR AWARD.
The award is aimed to honour, recognize and celebrate the contributions of Africans to all spheres of the Australian society. It’s also to establish honorarium and present Awards to distinguished, highly influential and outstanding African Australians.
The competitive nomination/application process focuses solely on evidence and merit of past outstanding achievement and advancement. It is an open panel review conducted by nationally recognized professionals in each discipline ensuring that only the most exceptional individuals such as Artist Michael Adonai receive the CAAI award.
Michael, a former Eritrean refugee, who has only lived in Australia for nearly two years, has had four successful exhibitions since 2012.
Among his most famous works is his solo exhibition entitled “I did not choose to be a refugee”. His original, creative painting style and the force of his humanistic ideas has wowed both his critics and viewers.
In addition, Michael generously shares his vast, unique knowledge of the ancient Coptic Art painting style with fellow Australians by giving lectures, seminars and Master Classes.
The CAAI organizers believe that “artists like Michael Adonai provide the creative foundation for the cultural vitality of the greater Multicultural Australian society”.
In the past, Artist Adonai has won several awards and prizes including the “Raimok award” one of the highest national prizes given to an artist. He was also nominated by an international art’s jury to represent Eritrea in the United Nations sponsored Global Art Exhibition, 2001. In addition, he was the participant of the 3rd International Arts Camp – ANDORRA.
Michael was selected to be featured in Dictionary of African Biography, 2012. [DAB is “a major biographical dictionary covering the lives and legacies of notable African men and women from all walks of life.” (Published by OXFORD press in, 2012).

Guys this is his professional success, and we should be pride him!! but what he was doing back, he should be asked for it, if he has regretted of his evil actions

Lets take the positives out of this news. Just one Eritrean Artist has got some recognition ‘well done’. I appreciate those of you who are disgusted of his recent past. But lets not forget almost all SAHLAWYAN meaning so called TEGADELTY were evil infected beasts. If we manage to cultivate their beastness in an appropriate way we can benefit in producing some kind of a vaccine to cure the nation. Like the tigrinya proverb goes: ZERANYO AYTEZAREBUNA BELET GUBUTSH. Lets learn to forgive but not to forget.

Hi brother Amanuel Iyassu
as what many of us are informed you were in the ministry of Information , while Beraki was a minister. and i am quite sure you are aware of the conspiracies that Ali Abdu (the walking dead) was doing at the final days. Ali Abdu, wedi kasa and yosuf saiq and the like were putting salt on the sore of the Mother Ertra at that time. Ali Abdu was given a new knife to slaught , to belittle, to undermine the roles of those who are now Eraero, including Beraki. Mikiel Adonay, Solomon dirar and others were behind the screen to feed Ali riesa with poison which can kill and defame the great Eritreans who are behind the bars currently. you know Ema….i remember one incident while i was working in Zoba Debub administration. Mustafa the coward and Ali Abdu talked on who can make the sketch in the entrance gate of Zoba debub Admintration office. Ali told Mustafa to give that asignment to Mikiele adonay. there is what he calls the abstract or some thing , cliche in world painting. he sketched it and he was paid 400 thousands nkf. this is a monthly salary for the whole abalat tewagae serawit in Eritrea. if you ask what Ali political prostitute in bahlawi gudayat and Ziena , in cooperation with Mikiel adonay…..you will cry. So mikeiel means Ali the chicken head. these two dwarf pseudo liberators sucked the public money while my own people is dying of poverty. the children of Meles Nuguse , Berekhet Misgina, the derams of Yirgalem Fisehaya are crying and hovering over the future of these two idiots. there is a day……..jailers will be jailed and innocent prisoners will be freed. but Mikeiel doesnt deserve publicity here in MY ASSENNA. i am here to hear voices of justice but not pretentions

I just wonder if we are going to rediscover the forgiveness and reconciliation attitude that we all lost. Everybody needs to develop a forgiveness road map deep in side the soul, so that we can live at peace with self. May justice prevail in Eritrea.

Not the authentity of your comments but rather the purpose
to use strange pen names to conceal identity creates suspicious
environment in here . Sorry I can’t grade your voice.
Bielo November 12, 2014
Dear Ahmed saleh
as to my understanding , the message is more important than who is saying it out . I guess u r one of the active participants in assenna , at the same time u r opposing the tradition of using a pen name. It also implies , I have been using different pen names and this makes me a kind of questionable character. So are u sure , I have been hiding behind different pen names? But Ahmed saleh, don’t rely only on what I m saying about both Ali guahaf and Adonay up here. You confirm it with multiple sources from Eritrea. Brother kiflom is also talking about forgiveness . It is good to look at it from philosophical point of view. How ever, it also irritates to forgive for some one who made others cry and live in grief. But it is civil to forgive some one after he/she confesses for what he did to others.
ahmed saleh November 12, 2014
My respond wasn’t mean directed to you in particular
but from my experience in this forum of non trustworthy
participants . And that is why I said respectfully I prefer
to withheld from grading your voice .
You read comments effort to question Amaniel integrity
and they come with various pen names playing their
dishonest games .
If we use the same pen name using only our first or
middle or last name , we can easily know who is who
to identify the unwanted strangers .
Bielo November 13, 2014
Dear Ahmed Saleh …..I could sense your concern . It is right some times. However don care who saying what. Just focus on the theme and message.
ahmed saleh November 13, 2014
Dear bielo
Do not forget we are in a political struggle consumed with inner
and outsider enemy forces to disrupt our journey . If we acted
vigilantly on questionable issue we might save the country from
ruin . Any way , thanks for understanding .
NB : Still I have a problem though why conceal name if you want
approach your own people . No required full name but one name is
good enough to feel on talking with follow Eritrean .

I am sure his good side weigh more than his bad side . If we can give
a space to everyone who joined justice seekers fellow nationals than
rebuffing them we can set a good example for forgiveness and reconciliation.
We have many who have a blood in their hands to worry about not about little
men to make a big deal wasting energy . Like those two Doctors statement
in the interview with Assenna ” we should focus on common reasons which can
unite us not on differences which divide us ” . Recognize the urgency which
needs prior attention .
DOESN’T SOUND GOOD ENOUGH ADVICE TO FOLLOW AS A PRINCIPLE ?

dear Ahmed saleh
i was using the name of my father some time ago, Bekhit. but i was bounced by the web master i guess. i think i commented some thing which contradicts with his ideals or principles of struggle. i did not feel irritated by that , coze i did not expect him to agree with what ever i say and on that specific day he might had a bad mood. but he is my mate….we are in the same wheels. no worries. but don hate this pen name also…..it is the name of my son
