ICER Action Alert:130 Eritrean refugees sold to the Bedouin Arabs

*Earlier this month 130 Eritrean refugees enticed by John (unsure whether John Meharay or John Dinsh notorious human smugglers) were handed over to Mehari Wedi Colonel in Egypt who in turn sold them to Bedouin Arabs in Sinai. It is also known that the refugees originated from Libya and not the Sudan or Ethiopia as usually is the case. At present they are kept in underground dungeon and tortured mercilessly.
*An indictment was passed by Isreali court against an Israeli citizen, Yusuf al-Kirnawi, for belonging to a human trafficking network known for holding hostages, torture and rape of Eritreans and Sudanese refugees for ransom in Sinai. Kirnawi was charged with four crimes: conspiring to commit a crime, hiding a captives, extortion by force and extortion by threats. The complaint was filed last week by Hotline Migration, an Israeli NGO and an affiliate of ICER against the Israeli citizen, Kirnawi would call Israel-based family members of Eritreans and Sudanese who were held captive in Sinai and demand money from them. Kirnawi received 450$ from the smugglers in Sinai for each captive whose relatives managed to pay at least $ 20,000 and $350 if the relatives pay less than that. The indictment against the collaborator was made possible by a testimony given by Salah an Eritrean national who informed the police that he passed Kirnawi 35,000 USD transferred to him from relatives for the release of his brother and another unknown Eritrean hostage. According to the NGO more indictment is pending after thorough investigation by the Israeli police is complete.
*It is to be recalled that 4 Eritrean female who just crossed the border on their way to Ethiopia to join their husbands fall prey to Rashaida kidnappers last month. Unfortunately, Sudanese police who were on routine inspection in the neighborhood found the Rashida and the women hiding in the room with cache of weapons. They and the kidnapper were accused of terrorism and thrown to jail pending court appearance. Up to the time of writing the Alert they are still kept in prison without due process of law.
* The court hearing of 27 Eritrean refugees and their captor, the Raishada human smuggler is postponed for April 5, 2012 simply because the Sudanese prison officials failed to present him to the court. Likewise the UNHCR officials who supposedly is on the side of the defense failed to appear during the court proceeding. It is not unusual that Rashaidas fail to appear in court because of the corruption involved. According to a reliable source submitted to Dr Burhan Ahmed, the situation of the 27 refugees in prison is miserable and there are no words to describe their lot.

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION ?
We fought for 30 years and we lost close 100,000 lives but for what? For this.
Eritrean sovereignty started to miss it’s truth meaning. Eritrean’s became to
some sort of inferior humans to be sold to those backward uncivilized Bedowins.
And by who, by their own brothers. What is going on, guys ? I blame GOD to
drop me in this mess comparing others beautifull places in the world.

We fought to be enslaved, to be famished, to be a people without dignity, to be a people with no vision. Alas my country! To this day independence has no meaning to the majority of the people. They made us incapable of leading our life by restricting us not to do anything in any domain. They are heros in destruction, but unskillful in building. Even Satan would never administer people like this. But solution will come one day. There is time for everything, a time for destruction and a time for construction.

I am not able to get the radio programme since the 19th. Could I get some information. Thanks
Cambo March 27, 2012
Gebela,
you need to click on the “Radio Assenna” icon on the right side of the screen. Assenna has made a separate website for its radio.
I urge you use Firefox browser than Internet Explorer. For some unknown reason, the Internet Explorer browser is not functional with Assenn’s radio link.
Hope, this helps.

HAGERAWI March 26, 2012
Mr.Ahmed the solution in opinion is : to kill the criminals of Rashaida and the PFDJ gangs. If there is power there will be a balance in every thing. Till now I still recommended to the Eritrean opposition a necessity measurement to Issaias’s regime as well as his blind followers. I never seen till today anyone from the blind followers killed or abducted or at least hit by the opposition. For instance, the Eritreans in diaspora why don’t you hit to the blind followers of DIA? what are you doing? They are still killing our people and we are just watching as if we are handicapped. Look to the other nations in every where especially in Palestine and Iraq. They never knell down only to God. Why? what is our problem? Why don’t we crush them?? They are going to finish us and we just looking until they come with their knives to kill us one by one. It seems that like the regime saying: Stay here without moving till I bring the knife to kill you all.
Lets start to kill the blind followers before it is too late!
semere March 26, 2012
Hagerawi,
I perfectly understand your frustration and helplessness. But if we do as you suggest, we fall into the same ditch of lawlessness. And that is exactly what we are fighting to uproot. It is really sad and our desolation never ends. Honestly I don’t have any solution except crushing the head of the snake, as many suggested. And who can do that? That is the real challenge. We in the Diaspora have no direct outreach, except encouraging and mentalizing our youth at home and exposing the names of those who are trafficking and maiming our brothers and sisters in the desert. Some names are already known to the public and a day will come when they will be brought to justice. Otherwise it is shameful and disheartening. Our consolation can come only from God and I hope God will intervene on our favor one day.

it is all our own fault
we keep applauding Isaias by clapping (meteqaE) when he
killed Eritrean intellectuals – MenkaE, Yemin or xegam whatsoever
when he killed our war veterans the disabled on wheel chair for asking for adequate food and clothing
when he killed Eritrean muslims by terror squad
when he killed university students in WiA
when he persecuted pente followers
when he replaced our patriark by a Gojamie ykaalo colonel
we are simply pussies, nothing more or less, deserving a human respect, sorry for being honest

“The Sudanese and Eritrean citizens travel through the Sinai on their way
to Israel. In the Sinai there are families that specialize in smuggling.
They charge them money to get them across the border,” he said. “About a
year ago, these families decided to institutionalize the practice – they
started hold the refugees captive and demand ransoms from them ranging
between $39,000 to 40,000.”
“The refugees held by them are given an opportunity to call their families
and friends in Israel,” said Asor. “At a later point the kidnappers threaten
the kith and kin and have them listen to them torture their loved ones.”
“There is a well-oiled system of kidnappers from Gaza and Sinai, working in
concert with money changers in Hebron,” he added. “They reached Al-Qarnawi.
He was in transport and knew traders in Gaza, that how they found him. They
would send him to meetings in Tel Aviv to pick up the money. After the money
was received they’d free the prisoner. Al-Qarnawi confessed his part in five
cases, but we believe there are many more. There are family members that are
afraid to file complaints with the police because they are illegal aliens.”

What about those many Eritrean refugees crossed from libya recently and handed
to the guy called Wedi Colonel who sold them to the Bodewins in SINNAI DESERT.
My understaning about Wedi Colonel, he is an Eritrean national who lives in Egypt.
But If you see the whole scenario it looks even Egyptians officials are suspects in
this criminal activity. Because how come one person transport such number of
people by himself alone without help. If he is real the son of Colonel, the officials
in Eritrean Embassy too are suspects in this case. Remember any citizen who tried
to cross the border used to get shot to be killed by their order. I think they change
the tactic to catch them alive to sell them for profit because they are condemned to
death by HGDF regime anyway.
HAGERAWI March 27, 2012
Ato Semere that is not frustration rather it is true and real solution. I think hitting and killing the criminals is not a crime and God the almighty aware of that. These people are still killing and jailing on daily bases to the innocent Eritrean. If you want to crush the head of the snake as you said, you have to kill first those who are in the front. You will never reach to kill the snake until you crushed all the crocodiles. But according your opinion the DIA and his gangs would be happy to see such idea that can’t move towards even a single inch.
If you are afraid of being killed, we excuse your case, but there are people would like to do so. Therefore, Mr. Semere you are not going to beg to the DIA and his renegades to throw from the power with out taking any action.
God the almighty help them to free their people from the black snake.
Peace and freedom to the Eritrean people!

I am with you and i to fight these criminals. trying is best then nothing, going to the criminal Rashaida places and teaching them once who we are, then they probabely will not repeat their high breach of hunan life.
I think we need to organise those who are living outside and fight them again. That is the only solution and respect our diggnity as Eritrean and humans in general.
only 100-150 comands would have finish them.
Wedi-Hhilo March 27, 2012
i want to add, i can be the first to go and even comand or do organise,
