Urging for all fellow Eritreans in Canada to take part

July 20, 2018

TORONTO, ON – “The Eritrean-Canadians Festival for Unity and Peace” is scheduled to be held on August 4-5 in Toronto, Canada.

The goal of the festival that is being held for the second time annually is, to build a community of Eritrean-Canadians that is committed to contribute, in a unified and sustained manner, towards creating a united voice, that will advocate for social and political empowerment of Eritreans in Canada and of course for the establishment of rule of law and democracy in our beloved country Eritrea.

In the festival there will be:

workshops regarding the recent developments between Eritrea and Ethiopia, and how would that influence Eritreans in general and Eritreans refugees in particular.
Panel discussions on how to establish a Canada wide committee of Eritreans that will lobby in behalf of Eritreans in Canada.
Group discussions on how to overcome divisive ideologies and develop a national identity

The Festival will have three components.

Saturday August 4, 2018 Panel Discussion/ Work Shop from 1:00 Pm- 8:00 PM at 847 Dovercourt Rd.
Sunday August 5, 2018 Panel Discussion/ Work Shop from 1:00 Pm- 8:00 PM at 1573 Bloor St. West. (Lithuanian House.)
Followed by live Musical Concert with Noted Eritrean Artists, ABRAR OSMAN, Sami Mebrahtu, and Others.

NB: this is way bigger than just a concert and it’s happening in a very critical time in the Eritrean politics so please help us spread the word.
