This is an unusual and touching scene where a mother who lost her son after a shooting in Brazil, meets his murder.
After one year of his death, Maria Nice knew the murder, Alisson, was arrested and she decided to visit him at the police station.
She was followed by TV cameras which captured the very touching and surprising moment when she said: “You are forgiven in the name of Jesus. I am a Christian, and I am forgiving you!”
Alisson was visibly stunned by her words and only tried to look away from her eyes. But she urged him to keep looking at her.
“I will be praying for you. And you will find the God that I serve.”
“I don’t hate you.”
She then prayed for him before she left. “Lord be with Alisson wherever he is. Don’t leave him even a minute, Lord. Touch his soul as you have touched mine. Comfort his mother, Lord, who must be suffering as much as I am. I thank for all Lord, in the name of Jesus. Amen!”

If this woman can forgive the killer of her son, why not all Eritreans and Ethiopians get along. The so called border issue which killed more than 100 thousand people from Ethiopia and Eritrea could have been avoided if we have applied the principles of forgiveness.
We need to invite Jesus to our homes. Jesus is about forgiveness.

Forgiveness is a core religious and ethical value that help embattled societies to move forward. That said, a durable peace is built on justice. The latter should not be denied nor it should be taken as revenge but an equally important lofty human value as forgiveness when spontaneousely expressed by victims or their families. Do you think Iseyas should be forgiven ?

The mother forgave him..that is an amazing story. He killed her son !he still faces justice of this earth! This is not possible unless the almighty helped her! She learned it from the cross of Jesus Christ–when the apostle stoned to death by the Jews He said “father please forgive them since they don’t know what they are doing” . You forgive to free yourself . You do it for yourself so you don’t live hostage of anger!!!

This great story reminds me of the following three stories about the last messenger (Peace Be Upon Him):
1. A lady used to throw garbage at Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)
Daily an old lady used to throw garbage at Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) when he (Peace Be Upon Him) used to go to the mosque to offer his morning prayer and ruined all the clothes with filth but Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) never used to get angry at her. He (Peace Be Upon Him) used to quietly go back to home, change the clothes and then again head towards the mosque to offer the prayer. One day the lady didn’t came out to throw the garbage at Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He (Peace Be Upon Him) went to her house on his way back to home after offering the prayer. He (Peace Be Upon Him) knocked at the door and after taking permission he (Peace Be Upon Him) went in. He (Peace Be Upon Him) came to know that the old lady was ill and lying on the bed therefore she could not throw the garbage that day. So Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) did all the house work of the woman and helped her and took care of her. That old lady was so inspired by the attitude of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) that she accepted Islam and after that she never threw garbage on Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and she proved to be a very good Muslim.
2. Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) helped a woman carry her bag
One day Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was going somewhere at noon and it was too hot in the desert when He (Peace Be Upon Him) saw an old woman carrying her luggage on her head. Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) helped her and took the luggage from the woman and carried it for her.. Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) asked the woman that where she was going and why? She said that I am leaving this town as I have heard that a magician named Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is in town. As Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was very patient and kind, He (Peace Be Upon Him) didn’t say a word and kept listening. The old lady kept complaining that why she was leaving the town. In short the basic reason of her to leave the town was her misconception about Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), who was walking beside her and she didn’t knew it. When they reached the destination, Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) put down the bag and was about to leave when the old woman said, “O, kind person! Atleast tell me your name!”. Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) replied, “I am the person because of whom you left the town.” The old lady was amazed to listen that and said that such a kind, helping and true person can never be wrong and therefore she also accepted Islam.
3. A jew went to the city of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him)
One day a jew went to Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him) city and saw that all the shops and markets, which comprised of even golden jewellery shops, were open and there was no one at the shops. The jew was very amazed to see such a sight. He thought that where is everyone and arn’t they afraid that their things can be stolen? He went a little into the city and saw everyone in the mosque offering their prayer (salat). When they had offered their prayers, the jew asked the muslims that arn’t they afraid of their things getting stolen? The muslims replied that Allah gave us wealth and we were offering His prayer, so He will take care of our things. This jew was also so impressed that he accepted Islam.
