We can’t sit idly by folding our hands when our mother land is bleeding, the cemeteries of our martyrs are crying loud for justice, our hero veteran fighters are rotting in jail, our national sovereignty is in peril. What do we need now? Mass uprising both by the people and the army. I call on all patriotic fighters in the Eritrean defense forces to repeat the insurrection of May 20, 1993 that forced the dictator to walk to the stadium to answer veteran fighters question. He got away with it back then because conditions were not ripe. But this time around let us ensure that he is toppled. For those of you who have forgotten the insurrection. here is a short reminder of the insurrection: Some fighters from the Kagnew Station recruited to the front in 1989-1991 rose up spontaneously and occupied the airport and the banks. That was soon followed by other fighters all over the country. The Asmara movement gathered momentum and thousands of fighters including veteran fighters from the mechanized unit joined the uprising. The conditions are ripe for an insurrection of this nature to topple this unelected oppressive regime once for all.

You can’t even spell ‘Asmera’ correctly! You seem to be stuck in the 1950s, it is simply a lot better to have black African brothers and sisters of Amhara/Oromo than your 1950s where ‘Asmera’ was full of foreign Italians and Arabs abusing and using our people as servants and as second class citizens, do you see the differences? Wake up and smell the Oromo coffee!

If you don’t know what is happening to Eritrea the country which be came independent nation, after thousands, thousands, and thousands of lives lost, is in danger of losing her identity and unable to identify and protect her border, you need to ride the short bus to the slow learners school. Hidat, Eritrea is heading back to 1950s. Asmera is full of Amhara/Oromo.

I think you missed my point. 1950s and 1960s was, when Eritrea was annexed by Ethiopia. I am an Eritrean and I care about my country first and most. As you are caring for Ethiopia. You are in no position to tell me how I feel about my country that is being sold without any precondition.
Regarding your statement of African brothers and sisters, why don’t you try to go to any other African country and try to live, because you are black? There is no country without a border.
You are not an Eritrean, so stop saying our people. gone and drink oromo coffee all you want. I don’t care. just wait, they will cut your head with what ever they have in their hands.
One more thing, if it is better to have black African, Amhara/Oromo, why were Eritreans people in a concentration camps in Ethiopia? So much for loving black Africans. Such a hypocrite.

Geneta,
We are where we are because of:
1. Of this kind of people (the Teklay’s and his never end nicks)
2. They think HGDF is their govt. They really believe it because they are brainwashed.
3. DIA somehow figured out to morally bankrupt our people and in stead of fighting back they prefer to run away, far.
4. Probably should be listed #1, Woyane leaders are in this game (it is a game to them). Woyanes from both sides of the border united to kill Eritrea as a nation.

This is indeed more than a wake up call. This is similar to the exodus of Cuban nationals following Fidel Castro’s coming into power. He officially announced for those Cuban wishing to immigrate to leave the island from the port of Camarioca. It was widely believed that Castro’s move was aimed at letting go the part of the population likely to oppose his communist ideals. The exodus of the Cubans did not stop for decades.
Isayas and his cronies also seem to follow the same policy towards Eritreans when they left the border wide open for everyone to cross. He has no intention to change his policies nor can the institutions he intentionally paralyzed, made dysfunctional and left broken can handle what is to come. By letting people leave Isayas will have less resistance or demand and would act undeterred.
If you look closely, that will give him the opportunity to crown his son to the throne as the present government officials would prefer him than anyone else, because the status-quo will remain the same. Consider the opposition Fillipos or any other official is likely to encounter from his ranks and file if he was to come to power, Or consider how their ethnic background would playouit if Hagos Kisha or Yemane Monkey were to succeed Isayas. There would be a rebellion straightaway and all those who are benefiting from the current structure would prefer Abraham as a successor as they would remain unharmed and unopposed doing what they are currently doing. Look at the Syrian or Korean story where fathers were succeeded by their sons. .
