Security cameras show a man brutally beating an Eritrean man; police claim man is mentally ill.
A man was caught on tape severely beating an Eritrean asylum seeker at the Tel Aviv Port on Sunday evening, in security footage shown on Channel 10.
Security cameras show a man, apparently deemed by the police to be mentally ill, hitting an Eritrean man for almost an entire minute for no reason.
In the video shown in the Ch. 10 report, you can see a third party eventually intervene and stop the attack.
The victim was evacuated to Ichilov Hospital with multiple injuries, including fractures to his face.
The police detained the assailant, who claimed he attacked the man because he felt his life was threatened. The police transferred the suspect to the Abarbanel Mental Health Center for examination.

I feel utter shame and humiliation to see a fellow brother being beaten to the ground. He allowed himself to be beaten because he doesn’t feel it is his right to defend himself, when he could in fact have. but I think all Eritreans should fight back when attacks like this happen. They should be shocked and angered by attacks like this, and demonstrate loudly on the streets. Then the government will be forced to prosecute the Criminals who do this.Any government wants order! they can prosecute him if you make your voices heard. But if your quite the Police are happy to dismiss it as a “Mentally disturbed”, as I have seen in many repeated cases.
