Your Excellency,
On behalf of all Peace and justice loving Eritreans we would like to thank you for siding with justice and truth. The decision to expel the Eritrean Government Consul General in Toronto has solidified Canada’s values that we all consider self-evident
We know that your patience has been tested when the Consul General ignored your several diplomatic notes telling him to stop collecting the 2% tax . We know what your decision was made on solid undisputed evidence and followed strict diplomatic due process, two virtues that the Eritrean government is adamantly refusing to follow.
The Eritrean Canadian Human Right Group never doubted Canada’s principled stand and we have been proved right. We thank you for making Canadians proud by doing the right thing for all Humanity.
Yours respectfully,
Getu Tsegai.
Eritrean Canadian Human Rights Group (ECHRG)

Who the hell is Getu??? We don’t have such Eritrean name.
TwoWayStreet June 12, 2013
I know a lot of Eritreans with Arabic name,
I know a lot of Eritreans with Hebrew name,
I know a lot of Eritreans with Italian name,
I know a lot of Eritreans with Ethiopian name,
I know a lot of Eritreans with Eritrean name, which is also used by people in Tigrai,
A name is just a name, that we did not choose to be named by, but decided by our parents.
So please focus on the issue and not on the writer.

If you don’t like the sound of Getu, it is also pronounced as “Get you”. Maybe you like that.

Canada has sent a strong and unequivocal message to the Eritrean regime that in Canada only Canadian and International laws are applicable and NOT PFDJ’s law. For far too long the Eritrean diplomats not only have they been operating in contravention of the Vienna Convention but also conducting their business as though they are within Eritrean jurisdiction. Hope other countries will flow suite of Canada. To my compatriot Eritreans just remember that the 2% tax is not just about the money but it’s also about asserting the junta regime’s control over Eritreans regardless of where they live. Here is another point to consider – why would unaccountable individuals should be given uncontrolled power to collect money on behalf of the embassy? Do you also know that a lot is left to the discretion of the collectors into how much a payee needs to pay? Seriously, this is so sickening when you think of it. But hey what can you expect from a mafia regime whose diplomats are notorious for smuggling cash.

Job well done Getu.
I think all Eritrean opposition in the civic and political organizations around the world should send similar letters to the Canadian Government and thank them on behalf of the Eritrean people back home. Because the regime use 2% to destabilize the region and destroy the lives of ordinary Eritreans at home. Lets follow Getu’s foot steps to applaud the Canadian Government’s action and use this momentum to push similar agendas in other western countries.

Mr.Getu Tsegai,
I would like to thank all of you for your contributions for the expulsion of this ruthless, mafia individual who has no mercy to the people of Eritrea. He was representing the worst dictator of Africa ever seen . This is a significant achievement, and my thanks to all of your hard working efforts to achieve the goal. Mr.Getu it would be better if you organize a petition so all of us can sign a thank you message to Mr. John Baird we all have learned a lot that if you have evidence, truth, you can bring the 1000 higdef supporters( empty vessels) to silence with one single paper with one Eritrean .Now the next move should be to the individuals who seek asylum and abuse the asylum right, to the people who secretly collect money to the mafia regime who work as mobile ATM machine. We can report them to Air Port immigration officers when the leave the country.

You do know “smerrr paltalk” is run by “ማሕበር ትያትር ትግራይ” right?
Pay attention to the message of anti-EPDP, anti peacefull means of struggle, the carefully chosen akelle, Afar, seraye nicknames, the admins, the participators and how they react to dissenting points of views. The “Bayto-ENCDC” is infiltrated and run by Woyane cadres.
Try the slogan “Eritrea for Eritreans by Eritreans” and see how they will react 😉

What has been achieved is the expulsion of the Eritrean Government Consul nothing less nothing more did the 2% stop? No, probably now it will be collected in Eritrea.

Get!!! Thank you very much for the letter you sent to the FA Minister of Canada. I would like to admonish those hose who doubt about the name Getu. It makes no different whether you consider him an Eritrean or not. You are far more behind the reality and couldn’t get out of the EPLF inculcated racialism. It is embarrassing to find such sorts of people still with no clear head. Don’t you know you have MEKURIA as the department head of foreign languages of PFDJ’s information ministry in Asmara. Better catch up with the time and situations.
