You guys never cease to amaze me. Wedi Tkabo is making a tour. It has nothing with our struggle for justice and democracy. Yet you keep advertising for him. He is doing is business, that is what all entertainment people do!

    • Ahmed salih October 19, 2014

I agree with you but we have to use his name to show that he is not hgdef again even though he is not doing anything for us

      • ahmed saleh October 19, 2014

If for sure that is your real name , I think
you mispelled the last name . But it was
better if we can avoid identical names
        not to confuse readers .

If you are looking for justice and democracy, you do not lie. You tell things as they are. He is using you. Nothing more and nothing less.

Eriteans in diaspora finally found a famous singer
to choose at their events . Let them enjoy his presence .

To elevate people’s consciousness music is very important means, so popular singers such as Wedi Tekabo’s roll as a musician is extremely important in the Eritrean political awareness development. Wedi Tekabo is making money off course so what, as far as he charges fair prices because he supports the cause…….but he has to be paid why not?

    • Mehret October 20, 2014

      Selam,
At the moment what Eritrean people need is freedom, justice and food. not music!!! He does not support any cause except the cause of money!!!! So far he has not come out to support and refugees in any camp. He is taking and giving nothing!!!!

Listen to music at home and give the entrance fee to the Eritrean mothers and children languishing in the refugee camps.
You do not need Wedi tikabo’s for your ‘Eritrean political awareness development’. His songs have nothing to do with awareness.

      • Zekaryas October 20, 2014

Well said sister Mihret. He has to come out and state where he stands as well. He has to show that he is on the side of the suffering people of Eritrea.

  • Simerrr2012 October 20, 2014

He has to earn his money to pay his bill like you all do. We have to support him by going to his concert and boycotting all artist who work closely with higdef. We have to show them that you can make money with out being higdef slave. I am happy to give my money to private concert and fund raising concert. Go wedi Tikabo go… God bless you.

    • Mehret October 20, 2014

      Simerrr,
you don’t ‘have to support’ him. You ‘have to support’ the young children in the refugee camps!!! He is already rich. He does not need your money!

    Hello All,

Regarding Wedi Tekabo going on tours and making money, some of you are not making sense. You can’t legislate love, generosity, etc. it has to come from the person. Some of you preach what you don’t practice. The guys that are saying he should donate his earnings to refugees in Ethiopia are not realistic. The ones that are saying this; are they sending money to refugees? probably not. You see it’s always easy to say so and so should do this or that.
As for wedi Tikabo getting paid, of course he should get paid. Just because he left PFDJ doesn’t mean he shouldn’t eat, get for real guys. Whether he donates or not it’s up to him. Let us say somebody who happend to be an Accountant defects from PFDJ and comes to America, would you say, he should donate money he gets from accounting work to refugees, of course not, you would probably say: Inkwaa Helfelu Nabruu Eriyae, same thing for Tikabo.
By the way I’m not related to him by any means and I don’t even like his songs too long & too propaganda filled for my taste.
    Peace
    –end-of-rant——-

Shame on you Assenna. This is not the first time to be complained on the addvertisment of Wedi Tikuabo’s show. Why? This is a complete ignorance to deleyti fithi. Wedi Tikuabo tells you on his first interview that he is not against HGDEF. In fact, comparing to his contribution to HGDEF, he did nothing till now. Once again shame on you assenna.

Listen guys everyone does a little of what they can till this demon leaves our country. We have to support people that needs work. You know he made a big statement by leaving hgdf. He slowly will play full but we have to support him, he can’t just work at a gas station, he earned his fame and now he denounce hgdf and we all should welcome him. When he satisfies his basic needs he will joint and do more. Let’s think clearly before we talk poison to someone that can play big in our cause.

I think we need to focus and redirect our attention to what each one of us can do to bring change to damage being done by PFDJ. Critiquing an individual for making a living is waste of time. We should ask ourselves how much money is each of us sending to refugee camps in the Sudan, Ethiopia (excluding any $ sent to rescuing relatives) before we expect someone else to donate their time and dollars. Each one of us should ask ourselves ” what am I doing to bring change..”. In fact an event like this could have a positive impact in bringing individuals to open up and openly discuss the cruelty back home. Finally event like this could be healthy for the mind and soul to go meet people with similar value systems and avoid hanging out at coffee shops with very unfortunate individuals or groups brainwashed by the regime enslaving it’s own population.
