Yoftahe Dimetros is a unionist like his father and I respect his person right and probably did not vote in the gallantly earned REFERNDUM and if he did not he would say “Aifal” no to free Eritrea…..One should ask then why he is conniving with Issayas and medling in Tewhdo relgion….He was instrumental in removing from an anointed position of our Patriarch. The current Patriarch is not recognised by the Tewhdo community globablly because he is a stooge of the president….It is a shame and blasphemous to remove a living Patriarch unless he has dealt with worldly events…the rest is between and his god which he was anointed infron of ….the reason even a new name is given to his Eritrean name that give meaning to his Patriarchy.

These are shameless souls that will meddle politics with religion and they are not going anywhere.

While the reporting of the event in Milan is correct, the characterization of Abba Dioscors as “patriarch” is utterly misleading and wrong. The Eritrean Orthodox Church has only one canonical Patriarch – His Holiness Abune Antonios. He was forcibly dethroned in 2005 and imprisoned since. Abba Dioscoros is the illegitimate creation of PFDF, recognized by none of the other Orthodox Churches. He has not been able to set foot in any gathering of Orthodox Churches, pan-Orthodox conferences, etc. He is as illegitimate as PFDJ. I hope that Assenna will never refer to him as “patriarch” in the future.

The main problem on the issue is the governance of the country and the awareness of it’s people
Everybody is sick and tired of never ending social crisis and injustices. Eritreans are suffering on the
hand of the man who once prided himself as their savior . They beleived on him and yet some still do,
on leading the country to peace and prosperity. I see them as brainless sold out souls. It is saver to
      flow toward masses than individuals.

Eritrea is ruled by people who have never being comfortable to be called Eritreans.
The new Patriarch is an Ethiopian who was calling Eritrean martyrs ‘wenbediye’ when he was in Khartoum. Because of that Eritrean families who had a martyred member used to go to Egyptian Orthodox Church in Khartoum to get service.
Youftah a close relative of Iseyas, like his father he is a Unionist Amhara who hates to be called Eritrean.
Iseyas and a number of his close associates are people with identity crisis.
They are all smart people who want make a good life at the expense of a country they feel does not belong to.
The stupids are the those who believe in them and are ready to follow them to even when they are carrying their country to hell.

    • Senait November 5, 2011

      Kalighe, you are absolutely right!
Issaias’ grandmother, adey Medhin MaEgebai and Yoftah’s grandmother on his father’s side, Megdelawit MaEgebai are sisters. Megdelawit MaEgebai is Qeshi Dimetros Gebremariam’s mother. Qeshi Dimetros was a well known unionist. His father hails from Gojjam.
Issaias’ father, Afewerki Abraha and his uncle Deja. Solomon Abraha were known unionists too. It is an established fact that they hail from Tembien, Tigray. If it is true that the new Patriarch hails from Ethiopia, then it is a complete circle. I can see Issaias’ futile attempt to completely control the Eritrean psych. You may call them smart people, but this is deception and treason of the highest order. That is why Issaias has surrounded himself by such characters. It is eternal fear of retribution for their cumulative crimes against the Eritrean people in the passed forty years. I think it is going to ultimately backfire and consume all of them.

      • Zekhtam Eritrawi November 6, 2011

        Senait,

As much as it is intriguing, it sure is fascinating as well as you spill the beans where the rest of us are left with mixed feelings and marvel at the extraordinarily interwoven family pedigree of a minority cliques who are not only assuming the political power but permeate in every life line of the nation as well. Allow me to indulge you or should I say bore you for a bit as I put a sort of intellectual torque or spin onto your otherwise clean cut debunk. With in the classic Marxist dogma, the forces of history are described as a perpetual conflict between the haves and the have-nots where thesis and antithesis morph into a synthesis as history propels onto a new class. In recent years however, the time tested Marxist theory has been challenged when a new ground breaking idea emerges where the most powerful minority in a given society are at a loggerheads with the disenfranchised and marginalized majority in a society. As much as, the new theory is appealing and incredibly compelling, the mention of few citations suffice. The prevalent powerful Chinese minorities in South East Asia (Philippines, Singapore) and most glaringly the minority Alawi tribes in Syria where Hafez Al-Assad hails from. And as we happen to witness history, Syria is on a verge of implosion as the majority takes on the minority where the age old resentment and bitterness is climaxed beyond one can possibly tolerate.

        • Senait November 6, 2011

          ZeKtam Eritrawi Hawey,
I completely agree with your statement. The classic Marxist dogma may have been appropriate for the 19th century Europe and America.
The minority within the current Eritrean context is not really minority. It is a crime syndicate. A crime syndicate cannot survive and sustain itself in an open and transparent host society. Everything, minute or gigantic issue is planned and executed in a secret manner. The crime syndicate usually provides a bogus or alternative side shows to cover and hoodwink the naive and trusting.

          • Zekhtam Eritrawi November 6, 2011

            Senait,

I couldn’t agree more. As you’ve aptly put it, the mafia cartel in Eritrea has gone beyond family affairs as it spreads its tentacles in a bid to suck the life out of the nation. As much as I respect your judgment and look forward to get educated (learn), how would you have described Isaias if one was to ask you about his strengths and weaknesses as he seems to pull off a scam which seems to remain afloat undetected for over four decades. If I could put it differently, what is it that he has where he fools his peers and contemporaries as he keeps consolidating power and stashing money incognito?

          • Senait November 8, 2011

            Zekhtam Eritrawi,

I do not have much time left to compose a long response to your interesting inquiry. We are here to learn from each others experience as opposed to a learnt and a learner.

Using my limited knowledge of simple logic, let us take the following argument.
Would someone with clean mind or in other words (non criminal-minded person) end-up becoming a heinous criminal? And people surrounding him does not suspect or question his motive. Is that possible? Is that real world? I do not think so. Therefore, there must be a system to cover it up or portray it as something that is noble or bigger than all of us.

Or, if his intent was not to commit heinous crime how did he end up being heinous criminal? I and you agree that the end product we have in, is a crime syndicate. How did it start, evolve and grew up or matured to such extent may be a contentious issue, but the fact it started, evolved and matured is crystal clear. If we can agree on the conclusion and have some rudimentary understanding about the premise, the intention, then the analysis of the details of its evolvement and maturation may not be as complex as most of us think or imagine.
As such, his strengths and weaknesses are governed and/or constrained by and within the parameters of the premise and the conclusion of the arguments. Of course, all possible conjugations of our weaknesses and strengths or virtues would be exploited to the umpteenth degree.

      • Senait November 6, 2011

Thank you Solomon. You showered me with five responses where only one response could have served its purpose.
On a much serious note, it is our naivety and trusting nature and add to that the cancerous Gedli culture of comformity that had blinded the whole society’s conscience. There are always few people who can pierce and see into the darker side of the organized minorty or in our case organized criminals, unfortunately they do not survive to make a dent because they are easily identifable and eventually eliminated under various pretenses (Kidane Kuflu, Woldai, Tikue Yihdego, the MenKae, Solomon Woldemariam, the Yemine, Ibrahim Affa & Captain Mebrahtu, many brave & able military commanders, the G15 and many of the enlightened are ample evidence) .
The elimination and disappreances of the above and many is not a random act.

        • Solomon November 7, 2011

          Snait:

Sorry senait I am not clear with your response (You showered me with five responses where only one response could have served its purpose) whether you are happy with my comment or not:

You use a little bit heavy words, so please tray to use , as possible as you can, simple words in order to understand you all of us, and to come to one concrete idea or agreement. I am too eager to know more on our situation; of course we should pay time.
          Thaks!!!!!

        • Senait November 8, 2011

          Solomon,

I am sorry that my message was not clear enough.

I am happy with your response to my brief comment. In fact, when I say you showered me with five responses, I meant I am more than happy. I am very delighted that your response was more than what I expected. It is like saying five times the happiness I would normal feel, if happiness can be counted. The reason I am saying this is, because you took the time to write five messages in response to my comment. This shows you care and appreciate my comment. I also understand that you may not be comfortable where to write appropriate response to specific comments. May be that is why you have written five responses to my comment.

My other comment is about our Eritrean value. The majority of us are naïve and trusting by nature, specifically to our tegadelties (freedom fighters). We used to accept what ever they say as if it is God‘s word. Partly, because they are our brothers, sisters, uncles and aunts who volunteered to give up their comfort and life to liberate us. We never thought they will betray us. I am sure you will agree with me that the majority of us never thought that our liberators would be our future tormenters.

        • Senait November 8, 2011

          Part II

During the thirty years of liberation war where life is in a constant danger by enemy attacks, secrecy was the most preoccupying factor that governed every movement and livelihood of the liberation fronts. Keeping every aspect of life secret meant, keeping even all the heinous crimes committed by the leaders against their own. If one dares to expose or challenge the leadership that would cost him or her life. Naturally, there were few brave ones who rose to the occasion. But they were all eliminated. This culture of the Gedli or liberation era created a culture of conformity within the larger society out fear of reprisal.

Trust is a good virtue or value. Nowadays, you see many PFDJ supporters parroting whatever the ERI-TV pumps out. Trust may have been a good virtue. Unfortunately, trust and conformity to what is pumped out of ERI-TV propaganda has its disastrous effect. That is why I say the culture of conformity learnt in the liberation era, is what I call liberation era (Gedli’s) cancerous culture. In addition to being naïve and trusting, the majority of us are conformists. That is why we are, where we are now. It is like we are all blindfolded and deaf.

I hope you understand what I am trying to explain. I like your attitude.

  • Concerned Eritrawi November 5, 2011

There is no new Patriarch in Eirtrean , abuna Discorious is not a Patriarch. The only Patriarch the church has is HH Patriarch Antonius, who is in house arrest by the Regime for speaking the truth and insisting that the State does not have any right to meddling church’s business. HH Patriarch Antonius is the only person in the our time who is under house arrest for wanting to take care of his Godly duties. Per the scripture and orthodox cannon, This regime with take ouir country to the drain as his adventurists policies.
May God Save Eritrea and the People from the current crises!
    Amen

    • Huluf November 5, 2011

      Concerned Eritrawi,

I submit to your definition in my use of words “current Patriarch”….we have one Patriarch , Amen and I will pray for religious leader HH Patriarch Antonius.

Thanks for putting the fact of points correctly my brother.

I wish to see Abune makarious ( the Abun who is at Tv Assena in front page) to be my next Patriarch. I love and respect all his speach specially regarding those lost Eritreans in Mediterranean Sea what he has spoken. God is truth! He loves people who speaking and preaching truth. And he hates those who says our people wounds is only scratches everything is well, when all is not well. (Jeremiah 6; 14)
