Provided this is not the antagonism that started in sewra..ie. Replacing one region’s crap with another region’s more dividing crap ,I believe we all should stand for it & attend ,however reality and some peoples’ obsession with region makes it highly suspicious, it should not be rejected right out ,however “even if a cat decides to become a nun ,it would never leave stealing someone’s milik”.
Is this replacing hashakas with sandays?.
Araya Debessay May 11, 2017
Dear “My Country”
The Global Initiative is grassroots movement that involves all sectors of the Eritrean society; Moslem, Christians, male female, all the various ethnic groups in Eritrea. There is no room for regionalism in this movement. It is an all inclusive movement.
BTW, I notice there is an error on the public announcement, May 20 is not Sunday. It is Saturday.

It should not matter if people are organised along regional lines or across regions so long they believe in democratic rights, liberty and dignity of the citizens or theirs. It is sum total of regions that make the whole country. I personally would support regional organizations and then each one sending representatives to the global one which coordinates all the regional organizations. That would close the loophole that agames pretending and covering themselves under the pretext of nationalist (hagerawi crap) comming to power and control us using regionalism propoganda. Be it national or regional what is important is organisation. We need to organize. It is only then that we can be effective.

pointed out ,,”It should not matter if people are organised along regional lines or across regions so long they believe in democratic rights, liberty and dignity of the citizens or theirs.”…I could not agree more with your statement ,however a region with obsessive regional identity at the exclusion of others would only abuse the democratic process ,democraqcy simply means majority over minority.
It would worry me if KKK s and NAZIs were to organize mthrough the socalled democratic process ,some regions are made with a single chip ,from the goat herder to the PHD holder are obsessed with regional power at the exclusion of others mlike I said mI would not trust a cat to guard milk ,even if it were a nun or a pentecostal one ,

I got ur point. If power is dominated by one region, then that leads to tyrany. All tyranies use clans or tribes or region to stay in power. Look at what we have. Iseyas, filipos, sibhat efrem, most generals- what do u see honestly? 5 or 6 generals just from adi nefas should tell u everything about iseyas. But if there is constitution, a powerful parliament and a president or pm all ellected by people tyranny or power domination by narrow regionalist has no space. Arrow regionalists would try but fail terribly b/s that leads to rejection by all others. However, it can lead to strong organization at regional level which may be important to fight the beast that is destroying everything in eritrea.

Alem ,
You make a good & honest point. Regionalism goes both ways. The problem is “the cure is worse than the disease”…If Isaias and higdef are the disease ,the justice seekes/the cure are worse in this issue. Whereas Isaias and higdef use regionalism as a means of prolonging their power, they would care less what region you are from ,but to be secure they prefer their karneshim area . But ,not to excuse the evil done by these assasins ,what feeds to this is the regionalism that is the trade mark of the socalled justice seekers. For the justice seekers regionalism at the exclusion of others is their objective and it has always been..from the goat herder to the PHD holder seem to obsses with regionalism ,they always have. This is not to say one is better than the other ,but the justice seekers would create civil war , as they would not even include some token leaders from other regions ,their nature would not let them ,that makes the situation worse. I am not prescribing to tolerate higdef’s dirt for ever ,I am merely pointing out the situation in almost every non zoba debub person’s mind. I want us to have a clear solution ,because the justice seekers have no clothes and nobody is willing to say it..for fear of being termed anti zoba debub. But, we can not put a lipstick on a pig and pretend she is a sexy girl. It is a viscious cycle.
I hope you understood my point..

The chance for a single region to come to power and stay in power is almost zero. We are not in 1960-70. If one says do not ask who comes from where, we know what they are upto after being deceived by iseyas who said he was going to write his autobiography and we will know where he is from after reading it. The solution is clear, people (villages) should own their land and elect their leaders. The term limits should be agreed and never changed by any one. If an elected member dies, they should be replaced by the people of the region electing another one and not by the leader. These will gaurantee fair distribution of power preventing tyrany and nepotism or narrow regionalism. Think about it, if we respect and empower our intellectuals they can craft a well thought well designed system that can serve as solid foundation for the country and the future generation. Narrow regionalism politics is helping iseyas stay in power but can not succeed and eastablish a root in eritrea. It can not.
