Congurats Ghirmay for your achievement!, you make us proud!! I am sure if there is opportunity there is a talent in our country! With the right facilities, there is no reason why you can`t be like the Ethiopians or the Kenyans. But if they hire a Bergader General as a head of the sport commission, then the progress will be slow…ofcource unless we find someone like you and Zeresenay who become winners against all odds!

Wonderful achievement , a young dynamic courageous man puts single handedly his nation on the map of the world. I was so proud again to be an Eritrean so soon after the recent cycling success. This achieved despite the FASCHIST PFDJ, can you imagine what we can achieve, when we get rid of them.

If one wants to Bo honest this Victory comes with mixed feelings. While you are glad that young Girmay’s efforts has paid of and it is going to change his life for the better you are left to wonder with sorrow how many would be young champions there would have been had the situation at home been better.We must not forget that some of the tens of thousands who were forced to flee the land are would be champions.
