Dear readers:
Can you believe it, among us there are some Eritreans with little or no emotion at all saying, ” I don’t want to hear bad news… uffff…such as the tragedy in Sinai, Egypt, Libya and Lampedusa.” Who else besides us [Eritreans] do we want to hear about our OWN tragedy?
This shocking incident which has claimed 357 lives has had a very big audience. Thus, for a week it became a headline news all over the world. It touched humanity as a collective.
Yesterday, in Germany, Signora Grazia Migliosini a resident of Lampdedsa was given the Bambi 2013 Award. She courageously signaled an alert to authority on what she had seen in the coastal waters of Lampedusa. By her single action she saved 47 Eritreans from losing their lives.
It is a rare recognition awarded to an individual in such a circumstance. Her involvement was crucial and timely. The board of directors who chose her knows and understands very well Grazia deserves the honor. There is a message they wanted to convey behind this act as well. As for us [Eritreans] indifference is killing our inner spirit! Can we do our share to redeem this nation of ours which is hanging on the edge?

ዓመታዊ ኣድማሳዊ ጉባኤ ቤተ ክርስቲያናት ካብ 30 ጥቅምቲ ክሳብ 8 ሕዳር, 2013 ዓ.ም. ኣብ ቡሳን ደቡብ ኮርያ ተኻይዱ። ብኣቶ ዮፍታሀ ድሜጥሮስ ዝምራሕ ምምሕዳር ጳጳሳት ኤርትራ ድማ ኣብቲ ጉባኤ ንምስታፍ ብኣሸበሸብ ንደቡብ ኮርያ እኳ እንተምርሐ ድኻም ጥራይ ኮይኑ ኣብቲ ኣድማሳዊ ጉባኤ ከይተሳተፈ ከምዝተሰጐጐ ተፈሊጡ።
ብመሠረት እቲ ዝወጸ መምርሒ፣ ኦርቶዶክሳውያን ኣብያተ ክርስቲያናት ሓደ ሓባራዊ መግለጺ ሒዘን ክቐርባ ይእዘዛ እየን። እቲ ብኣቶ ዮፍታሀ ዝምራሕ ምምሕዳር ድማ “ንሕና ኦርቶዶክስ ኢና” ብምባል፣ ኣብቲ ጉባኤ ኦርቶዶክሳውያን (confessional meeting) ክሳተፍ ፈቲኑ። እንተኾነ፣ ሕብረት ኦርቶዶክሳውያን ኣብያተ ክርስቲያናት፣ ሓደ ቃል ብምዃን “ፓትርያርክ እንጦንዮስ ኣበይ ኣለዉ? መን ልኢኽኩም? ንመን ወኪልኩም መጺኹም?” ዚብል በዳሂ ሕቶታት ምስ ኣቕረበሎም፣ ኣቶ ዮፍታሀ ንፓትርያርክ እንጦንዮስ ብፖለቲካዊን ሃይማኖታውን ክሕደት ከጸልሞም ፈቲኑ:: ቀጺሉ ኣቶ ዮፍታሀ፣ ፓትርያርክ እንጦንዮስ ከምዘይተኣይተኣስሩ፣ “ሕክምናኦምን መነባብሮኦምን ባዕለይ ይከታተሎ እየ” ዚብል ካብ ሓቂ ዝረሓቐ ምስክርነት ሂቡ።
ኣቶ ዮፍታሀ ዝሃቦ ምስክርነት ግና ምስቲ ኣብ ባይታ ዘሎ ሓቂ ዘይቃዶ፡ ብሽርሕን ጉርሕን ዝተማህዘ ሓሶት ምዃኑስ መራሒ እቲ ጉባኤ ሊቀ ጳጳስ (Metropolitan Gennady) ኣይሰሓትዎን።
ኣብ መወዳእታ፣ ኣቶ ዮፍታሀን ሰዓብቱን ካብቲ ጉባኤ ብህጹጽ ክወጹ፣ ፓትርያርክ እንጦንዮስ ናብ ሓዋርያዊ መንበሮም ክምለሱ፣ እቲ ብዮፍታሀ ዝምራሕ ምምሕዳር ኣብ ዝኾነ ናይ ኦርቶዶክሳውያን ጉባኤ ከይሳተፍ፣ ካብ ሕብረት ኦርቶዶክሳውያን ኣብያተ ክርስቲያናት ምሉእ ብምሉእ ክንጸል ዝብል ውሳኔ ኣሕሊፉ። ብተወሳኺ፡ ጉዳይ ፓትርያርክ እንጦንዮስ ዕቱብ ምክትታል ክገብረሉ፡ ሕብረት ኦርቶዶክሳውያን ናብ ኣድማሳዊ ጉባኤ ቤተ ክርስቲያናት ለበዋ ኣቕሪቡ።
እቲ ዝተዘርበ ኩሉ ብቋንቋ እንግሊዝኛ ብምንባሩ፣ እቶም ምስ ዮፍታሀ ዝመጹ ጳጳሳት እንታይ ይበሃል ኣሎ ምንም ኣፍልጦ ብዘይምንባሮም ነቲ ጉባኤ ኣሕዚንዎ እዩ። ብስሞም ናይ ፖለቲካ ሰባት ይብለጹሎም ከም ዘለዉ ድማ ኣብቲ ጉባኤ ንጹር ነይሩ።
ሎሚ መንበረ ጵጵስና ሰሜን ኣሜርካ ከመሓላልፎ ዝደሊ መልእኽቲ ብዛዕባ እቶም ካብ እምነት ሓላፊ ሽመት፡ ካብ ሓቂ ሓሶት መሪጾም ኣብ ጌጋ መገዲ ዘለዉ ‘’ኣምላኽ ዕርቂ ንብኡሳት፡ ንስሓ ንጥፉኣት’’ ሰሪዑ ከምዘሎ ብምሕባር፡ ነታ ምድሪ ተስፋ ዝወረስዋ እቶም ጽኑዕ መንፈስ እግዚኣብሔር ዝነበሮም ካሌብን ኢያሱን ምዃኖም ዘኪሮም፡ ምድራዊ ህይወቶም ከየብቅዐ እንከሎ ካብ ንሰብሲ ንኣምላኽ ክእዘዙን ክሰምዑን ሓደራ እብል።
