We can’t discount Tadess’s concerns. Let’s not forget Mesfin Hagos was a contender of PIA. Correct me if I am wrong, but Mesfin received a second majority vote for party leader contest during the 3rd EPLF congress in 1994.  I also heard Mesfin is liked by majority of EPLF veteran fighters.  The majority of Isaias die hard supporters hail from Zoba Debube (including the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations of Eritreans of Tigray origin). Given Mesfin popularity among fighters and where his root (Mebkol) is traced, imprisoning him would have ended up creating division among the ranks and files of EPLF; ultimately slashing Isaias supporters into half.  The safest choice for crooked Isaias was to evict Mesfin to exile.

There are some people who claim future head of Eritrea needs to come from Akeleguzay region. Some people question why another Hamasien should rule Eritrea considering the close affinity of Eritrean people with their respective regions and ethnics and religion.  I believe our short term goal should be to root out those thugs purposely destroying Eritrean fabric before general Philipos Woldeyohannes and Isaias’s henchmen continue to carry Isaias’s torch.  I am assuming Mesfin’s group and alliances to have a fair representation of Eritrean people including Muslim, Christian, veteran fighters (ELF/EPLF), Warsi and women and a concrete agenda of transferring power to next generation once a rule of law established in Eritrea.

The Ultimate party/leader of the country should get majority votes from Eritrean people through a fair election. The demographics we have in Eritrea require political parties to seek coalition with other regions and ethnics in Future Eritrea to get a majority votes.  A political party with majority members from a single region won’t survive in future democratic Eritrea. Due to external colonizing forces for the last century, native Kebessa’s people mobility was restricted in a village and cities were occupied by immigrants and settlers.  I would like to see an Eritrea where land can be sold and bought (exchanged) freely at the will of the people so as we live and do business wherever we want.  I repeat what someone mentioned in this thread there never a war among regions, ethnics or religions. All these issues could have vanished or become less relevant had we had a good constitution, elected government and a free market economy.

      Adulis,
You contradict yourself few times but I didn’t know you are an inventor or should I say an inverter. The majority of die-hard of isayas followers are from where? Did they change the district naming, again? Or you are using brand new statistical data – may be from Dr. Gidewon?

Good catch Simon G. Sorry, I meant to say from Zoba Meakel.

    Thanks.

    Reposting with correction.
