እቲ ስርዓት ንኮለጅ ቢዝነስን ኢኮኖሚክስን ሓልሓለ መናበዩ ስታላታት ምግባሩ፡ ነቶም ተማሃሮ ጥራይ ዘይኮነ፡ ድሕሪ ዕረፍቲ ክራማት ሓደስቲ ተማሃሮ ክቕበሉ ንዝጽበዩ ዝነበሩ ኣመሓደርቲ ናይቲ ኮለጅ ከይተረፈ፡ ተማሃሮ ከሰልጥኑሉ እናተጸበዩ፡ መስብሒ ስታላ ኮይኑ ምትራፉ ኣርሚሙዎም ከምዘሎ እቲ ሓበሬታ ብተወሳኺ የረድእ።
ብሰንኪ እቲ ስርዓት ዝወሰዶ ሃንደበታዊ ስጉምቲ፡ እቶም ኣብ ኮለጅ ሓልሓለ ክመሃሩ ዝነበሮም ተመሃሮ ናብቲ ኣብ ዓዲ ቀይሕ ዝርከብ ኮለጅ ማሕበራዊ ስነፍልጠት ከምዝኸዱ ኳ እንተተገብረ፡ እቲ ናይ ዓዲ ቐይሕ ኮለጅ ንገዛእ ርእሱ ነቶም ዘይተጸበዮም ተመሃሮ ክቕበል ምድላዋት ስለዘይገበረ፡ ኩሎም እቶም ተማሃሮ ተታሓሒዞም ካብ ትምህርቲ ካብ ዝቦዂሩ ካልኣይ ወርሖም ሒዞም ከምዘለዉ ተፈሊጡ።
ምልካዊ ስርዓት ኢሳይያስ ተማሃሮ ኣስመራ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ኣብ 2001 ዓመተ ምህረት ሰፊሕ ተቓውሞ ድሕሪ ምርኣዮም፡ ንፖለቲካዊ ስልጣኑ ዝፈታተን ተመሳሳሊ ምንቅስቓስ መታን ከይድገም፡ ኣብ ማእከል ኣስመራ ብዝሒ ዘለዎም ተማሃሮ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ክህልዉ ስለዘይደለየ፡ `ላዕለዋይ ደረጃ ትምህርቲ ኣብ መላእ ሃገር ንምዝርጋሕ` ብዝብል ሸፈጥ ደረጃአን ዘይተሓለወ ኮለጃት ኣብ ፈቖዶ ዞባታት ከፊቱ ነታ እንኮ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከምዝዓጸዋ ይፍለጥ። ይኹን`ምበር፡ ንሓንቲ ካብተን ከም መተካእታ ከፊቱወን ዝንበረ ኮለጃት ብኸምዚ ዝኣመሰለ መደብን ስርዓትን ዘይብሉ መገዲ ሃንደበት ምዕጻዉ፡ ብቐደሙ፡ እቲ ህዝቢ ንምትላል ኣብ ትምህርቲ ተገዳስነት ከምዘለዎ ንምምሳል ብቐጻሊ ዝዝርግሖ ፕሮፖጋንዳ መሰረት ከምዘይብሉ ዘመልክት እዩ።
ምዕጻው ኮለጅ ሓልሓለ ነቶም ተመሃሮ ካብ ምዝንባል ሓሊፉ፡ ነቶም ኣብ ከባቢ ጽልማ ዝርከቡ ሓረስቶት፡ `እዚ ስርዓት ነቲ ንዘበናት ዝተናበርናሉ ግራውትና `ውን ከይመንዝዓና ኣይተርፍን `ዩ` ናብ ዝብል ስግኣት ኣውዲቑዎም ከምዘሎ እቲ ዝረኸብናዮ ሓበሬታ የገንዝብ።

Asmara University was an internationally accredited University, because of efforts done, mostly, by nuns of Santa Familia (a Catholic Church institution). Even at when Asmara was under siege people used to learn.
The regime of Iseyas is against education. They are openly against higher education. Under the auspices of EPLF/HIGDEF the administration of the University was engaged in divisive politics that divided Eritreans along ethnic and regional lines. For instance several minorities were completely excluded. Even after scoring well in high school exams they are not allowed to go to University. Instead they were channeled to TTI to become teachers of elementary mother tongue schools.
There was no a single student from Afar, Kunama, Beni Amer, Hadareb etc. There were a few Saho (less than 10 out of around 850) who complained of mistreatment. They suffered from atmosphere of hostility and hate. Despite all that the UoA could have been reformed, but Higdef did not want Eritreans to study and have a normal life.
