Anyway to fulfill his hidden plan because ignited the war, within short time 24,000 innocent citizens was exterminated, thousands disabled, millions displaced and finally late our territories to be occupied. Should Bitweded like hero because defended his nation interest to be imprisoned? Actually from the place where i live was observing the Eritrea port as was functioning only for Ethiopia benefit and businessmen, even more than during Derg time, until i wonder and asking, where are the Eritrean businessmen? Why after independence all business is only going to Ethiopia? So i can understand Betewode´s frustration. Normally after independence if we have had real Eritreans clever government, we should have to ask for 30 years war caused destruction, for wasted Eritreas labour and knowhow that waste to build Ethiopia, for the wasted time to construct Eritrea, for destructed all industry and since Eritrea inforced to federate with Ethiopia time, for 42 years Ethiopia used unpaid port tax, and exploited other wealth, all in all at least 77 billion dollars as compensation Ethiopia should to pay us. The clever late PM Meles warned Ethiopians with Interview brother Amanuel Iyasu i think, if a claim about compensation mater raised, indirectly emphasized Ethiopia as hardly will be great loser. This actually exposes Shabia’s dishonest behavior. Nations negotiate and agree on different economic terms, that is why Eritrea and Ethiopia negotiated and agreed on how to use the facilities in Assab. But as mentioned in the letter, Shabia, including Betweded, were not trust worthy. He mentioned on No 6 that he and his colleagues stole 10,000 barrels. Everyone knows how the Shabia officials in Assab during the 90s were corrupted, Betweded is also not innocent. They stole a lot of drinks which was imported by the Ethiopian Tourism. A lot of containers were taken from the port to the camps around “salasagna”. No one was accountable except those people who were there like Betweded. As mentioned in the letter a lot was taken to Massawa but where did it go? The same was also happened in 1998, the cheap behavior of Shabia again overflown and they took a lot of goods from Assab. In political economy security and trust is crucia,l this untrustworthy behavior of Shabia will obviously harm Eritrea. To me all Shaiba are the same “men kemukanka kinegrekas mis men kemtikeyd nigereni eyu negru”. He mentioned the agreement regarding Assab Refinery was not fair; the plant was so old; in fact the deal was in favor of Eritrea. As we know finally, Ethiopians also stopped using it and it is now a pile of rusted steel. Assab port is similar. The cranes will soon fall to the sea and that will be the end of the port. As for Ethiopians, they are importing everything they desire.

what surprises me always about some Eritreans is, they blame the imprisoned officials of the Front/government from zero. what do they know about what the imprisoned are saying? do they hire a lawyer to defend them in an open court system? what we hear is ”Mr, who and who betrayed the people”, mr so and so stole this much money, mr who and who spoke against the security of the country. what are these allegations after all? are they innocent accusations? are we sure that Petros and the like were really betraying the people? on what bases can Duru’e, Sherifo, birhane and others can betray their people? do we think they can have certain grudges which can make them walk against the interest of their families? how can they betray their martyred siblings? and do we , as a people hear their complaints about HGDEF? how do we trust the side of those in power only? where is our common senses as a dignified people? i am not judging, but at least we have to demand bringing them to the court. if the side which is accusing them substantiated its stand infront of law and justice , that is all. how ever which court told us they are traitors? as to me , i do not get any proof wether they are guilty or not. the same with that of Bitweded.
is that all about our response to such incidents? if so, where is the national values by which we claim that we are dignified and heroic? i do not mean every who is in the prison is innocent. but i want to highlight , no body is authorised to label any body guilty except the high court and its codes. shame up on us, the people of Eritrea! heroes of yesterday turned to be enforced submissive.

Our failure started from our own emotional reaction concerning social and political issues which has no
base on truth . That is the reason why “HOPE” from Eritrean atmosphere began to diminish from the people
expectation for better future . We experienced how some fundamentally irresponsible and opportunist group
keep pretending like patriots to defend the country sovereignty while they ignore the dangers on the ground
from the harsh , twisted situations and other unshakable reality of Eritreans lives inside the country .
The hardest part of our country have to do with the absence of judicial system .
