The Eritrean government allocates a big sum of its estimated 300-million US dollar-worth of Diaspora taxes to propaganda and news media structures to misinform and suppress the people. In contrast, democratic Eritrean media outlets often face financial hardships making it hard to continue waging effective media offensive against the unbridled despotism and tyranny in Eritrea.
This is a call for a one time support for Media and Democracy Research Project as it campaigns together with you to bring change to Eritrea by asking questions. Even unanswered questions may have an impact as in Michael Abraha’s recent unsuccessful attempt to interview Ambassador Girma Asmerom in Addis Ababa. Please see: Is the Eritrean Regime Holding Nation Hostage? The primary objective of the Project is to make the most effective use of local and global media in the fight to build Eritrean Democracy, Stability and Unity in Diversity.
