Tadese, You are just creating non existent issues to fit to your topic of regionalism and tell us that the Akeleguzay people are the one suffering. This will not serve the benefit of uniting the people to oppose DIA. It only serves PFDJ policy of regionalism and havoc.The problem is with your mentality. You are now in a dire myopic situation. You only see and believe any issues the way you want it. This is serious health problem. You need to consult your Doctor. When PFDJ is introducing this the new regions, many of the government offcials that were convincing the people by having conferences and TV interviews are guys like Mohamud Sherifo, Haile Drue who originate from Akeleguzay. I wonder when people say many Government officials are from hamasien. But the once who have power in todays Eritrea are the national Security. They can do what ever they want. they can arrest any General or minister and spy any Eritrean.This institution is made up of Akeleguzay origin, starting from Abraha Kasa, Simon gebredingil, Charlie, Hagos Kisha, colonel (head of president office) and many security officials.Mind you, the wife of Isayas is also from Akeleguzay. These are the main decision makers in todays Eritrea.

Do you know the word ‘hamassein’? it seems that you do not because you have forgotten to mention it and its people. You just said ‘asmeran zoba maekeln’. you find it very difficult to say hamassie, don’t you. where do the people of hamassien live?From where to where does their land stretch? can you tell us please? Does hamassien extend 34Km north and 34km south of Asmara? what about east and west? And where did you get the ’34KM’ measurement/distance?

You raise very important issue which requires deep sighting. I salute you for that. however, those who like to see cosmetic change in Eritrea are whether they are beneficial of the upheaval in Eritrea or part and parcel of that evil system. mined you how many innocent Eritreans willingly or unwillingly had been criminalized during gedli and after. They don’t want to see the system completely decimated. they would like to hided behind its shadow. My advise to you is that it is hard to pursued them to change course. There is a good example for that Mr Keleta Kidane, is one of those who advocate reform. I don’t know exactly what is in his mind but I won’t expect such loud cry for reform from elderly man like him. May be he is in a mission. Everyone knew by now Eritrea needs complete change. HGDEf is rotten to its core beyond repair and any person with the right mine knew that. just take it easy kibur hawi time will come justice will prevail. I am sure of that. cheers

Are you telling us that Zoba Maekel are living in comfort? Are the people of Adi Segdo, Adi Abeyto, Adi Guadad, Qushet, Adi Nefas, Godayf … and many better off now after 1991?
The people of Asmara get their clean water from Himbriti, Embardae, Adi Nefas, Beleza, Adi Shaqa … but these villages get only poor bust services only four times a day. Is this too much for the water you draw from these villages?
For more than 100 years people from many parts of Eritrea came and bought Hamasien lands cheap to live in Hamasien from the government, and the people Hamasien died in tens of thousands in the name of Eritrera, what did the Hamasien people get in return, Zero, Zilch, nothing!

Very interesting debate. I was not aware that opportunities were given to certain sections of the Eritrean society in this way. Those who say that your assertions are unfounded, I would be very interested to hear their facts against yours.

I find this practice so shocking! I did not know Eritrea was that badly managed.
In the 1990’s I heard people complaining that opportunities were denied to those investors who wanted to invest beyond Dubarwa, Dekemhare, etc.That is to say that no investment was allowed beyond certain distance from Asmara. As a result of pfdj’s fraudulent policy, many investors left the nation for other countries such as Ethiopia. And we all know what followed.
A friend of mine was working in the town of Adi-Keyih. While he was there, a man from Finland, who had been touring the region stayed for some weeks in Adi-Keyih because he liked the town/environment. He spoke to the authorities and stated to them that he would have liked to contribute in his own way. He promised to send them 5-6 machines, and he did. But those machines never made it to Adi-Keyih. They were installed in the vicinity of Asmara because senior authorities would not let them pass to Adi-Kyih. My friend was very surprised and disgusted by what he observed. Local administrators could not do anything about that. This is one example.
Others reported that proposed clinics, schools, small scale factories were systematically denied in the areas of Mendefera, Areza,Adi-Quala, Dekemhare, Sagheneiti, etc.
If we want to improve our life in Eritrea, we need to create a system that is ruled by law, equality and justice.
