The advertisement neither indicates who the executives are nor the board members.

What has been happening to the Eritrean detainees in Libya?
The Eritrean government is behind what is happening to our people in Libyan prisons. They really want to take back those who left the country, and punish them. The tragedy of many of those who try to leave Eritrea with a dream of a new and decent life in other countries is that they end up in a Libyan hell-hole where they are imprisoned incommunicado, raped and otherwise tortured, and then, if they survive this inhuman treatment, they are sent back to Eritrea for more of the same.

And nothing strengthens and unites more than our readiness to sacrifice personal gains, fame, and yes, even power, in the service of the greater good that spurs us to create a decent social order where there is no hunger, no slavery or tyranny and where all are treated with dignity and respect.

When Meb Keflezighi finished the New York City Marathon in two hours, nine minutes and 15 seconds the morning after Halloween, he became the first American to win the race in 27 years. But some spectators apparently missed the three red letters on his chest as he burst through the tape. Keflezighi is only “technically American,” argued CNBC sports writer Darren Rovell. He’s “like a ringer who you hire to work a couple hours at your office so that you can win the executive softball league.”

The controversial Brussels Conference(BC)is now over. This conference was regarded as a success story by its organizers and participants while it was criticised by other who were left behind closed doors. Conferences are democratic instruments where people assemble and discuss issues of interest. The impact of the BC can not be estimated at this time but will be assessed later in the process of our struggle for democracy.

The Association of Eritrean Journalists in Exile (AEJE) would like show its gratitude to the Swedish PEN for presenting the Tucholsky Award to our compatriot, Mr. Dawit Isaak who has been in Eritrean jail since September 23, 2001. This award is another remarkable addition to the serious of tireless efforts and achievements of Swedish human right groups and NGOs to take up the cause of freedom of expression in Eritrea in general and the case of Dawit Isaak in particular. It can be recalled that last month, Dawit Isaak had been honoured to be a finalist for European Union’s Sakharov Prize.
