”International Conference on Eritrean Studies: different research papers presented

Asmara, 21 July 2016- Different research papers with regards geopolitical, cultural, literary, historical as well as social and economic developments in Eritrea are being presented at the International Conference on Eritrean Studies that is being held at Asmara Palace.

The research papers are being presented by internationally renowned scholars from European, North American and African Universities as well as Eritrean scholars from the different colleges and public institutions.” …..end quote

The propaganda machine of PFDJ mafiossi gangs is in full swing with its empty as usual rethoric. It is telling us that the “ICES is  Putting Eritrea back on the Map,Bearing this in mind, over the last several years Eritrea has sought to correct its tarnished image. Global change is happening and creative solutions to abate the pressure on Eritrea require a new paradigm for development and a roadmap for stewardship of the country. Human activities are partly responsible for changing the country’s image and giving rise to other, globally- and locally-critical changes. This has major consequences for the development agenda at both local and regional levels. Solutions will require the application of Eritrea’s best minds, as well as debate and interactions among a broader group than the Eritrean community alone. International scholars are also critically-important players. To this end, the International Conference on Eritrean Studies is vital. It had adequate representation, not only from local Eritreans, but also many from the Diaspora, as well as from international scholars. The conference is also important for several other reasons:  May be as a white wash to its ilegal and unwarranted system of  governance“..……………..  wauw~!

Israel’s Deportation Policy Forces Asylum Seekers to Choose
 Prison and Persecution

According to Newsweek’s Jack Moore Israe, continues to reject Eritrean and Sudanese asylum applications in the country. The findings come in spite of the Israeli High Court of Justice and the Attorney General’s Office criticism of the state’s lack of urgency in dealing with the requests, of which 15,000 remain. Israel reportedly has the lowest asylum acceptance rate in the Western world, with less than 0.15 percent of asylum claims accepted since 2009.The Israeli state routinely an initiative that would deport asylum seekers to third countries, specifically Rwanda and Uganda. But Israel has reported thousands to their home countries instead of these “safe” third countries, according to another Haaretz freedom of information request in August 2015.Some 42,000 Eritreans and Sudanese live in Israel, with many traveling to the country for better economic opportunities, but also to escape persecution and human rights abuses in their home countries, rights groups say.

Human Rights Issue:

Statement by Mr. Mike Smith, Chairperson of the Commission of Inquiry at the 32nd session of the Human Rights Council:
In concluding statement Mike Smith, the Chairman of COI said…..

We presented our first report to you 12 months ago, documenting a multitude of human rights violations in Eritrea.

The Human Rights Council unanimously approved – without a vote – a resolution – and mandated the Commission to determine whether these violations might amount to crimes against humanity and to address the issue of accountability.

The Commission has concluded that Eritrean officials have committed crimes against humanity. The crimes of enslavement, imprisonment, enforced disappearances, torture, persecution, rape, murder and other inhumane acts – have been committed as part of a widespread and systematic campaign against the civilian population since 1991. The aim of the campaign has been to maintain control over the population and perpetuate the leadership’s rule in Eritrea.

On 8 June 2016, the Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in Eritrea released its second report.

On 21 June 2016, the Commission will present its second report to the Human Rights Council. In October 2016, it will present an oral update to the General Assembly.

But the regime in Eritrea is engaged on false propaganda to its own audiance. Who else can believe the usual and repeating lies from Forto Baldissera.

EXODUS: The unending Militarey Services in Eritrea and the  shoot to kill policy of the regime drove thousands of young Eritreans out of their country leaving their families behind. How dangerous is the journey?

According to the IOM, more than 3,770 migrants were reported to have died trying to cross the Mediterranean in 2015.

Most died on the crossing from north Africa to Italy, and more than 800 died in the Aegean crossing from Turkey to Greece.

The summer months are usually when most fatalities occur as it is the busiest time for migrants attempting to reach Europe.

But in 2015, the deadliest month for migrants was April, which saw a boat carrying about 800 people capsize in the sea off Libya. Overcrowding is thought to have been one of the reasons for the disaster.

Isaias june2016

Obsolute dictatorship in Eritrea that will never change by itself but by the power of the people only!

Def.Dictator:
A dictator is someone who has absolute power — or who at least behaves as if they do by bossing others around.
In government, a dictator is a ruler who has total control over a country, with no checks or balances to prevent abuse of power. Dictator can also describe someone who acts like that on a smaller scale. When your sister is getting married and your mom makes her order roses instead lilies for the table arrangements and yells at you for addressing the invitations too slowly and insists that all of her coworkers be invited, she’s acting like a dictator.

We shall Overcome

It depends who is doing the researching and presenting, there is nobody who knows Eritrea better than us-Eritreans.However,even us have a biased, eclectic, polarized views of our nation and its history, but there is one glaring, urgent fact today- to dump HGDEF into the garbage of our history, give the Eritrean people the power to democratically elect their leaders and establish rule of law, sound governance, solid constitution with its unshakable appendage of civil institutions and a revised and retooled modern armed forces which its only responsibility is to defend the sovereignty of the county when it is threatened. If we have the common sense, wisdom, patience, tolerance, good conscience, smarts, guts…to accomplish this feat together, the dark cloud that’s been hovering over us for awhile will dissipate, the confusion will clear up,there is no need to lie anymore and the road ahead would be clear far as the eye can see.But with HGDEF in the way,the Eritrean people cannot see beyond the tip of their nose, and that’s how they gonna keep it.

The Regime shamelessly claims that students got their diplomas in different skills. But the problem in Eritrea is not lack of skilled people. Eritrea has countless of them. The basic problem that has become the source of Eritrea’s destruction is the endless national service or slavery. People cant use their skill because they must always cleaning their weapons, drilling and never ending tours. If people cant use their skill for the construction and development of the nation the result will be fleeing the nation in their thousands and they have been doing that and are doing it. But Isayas, instead of solving the cause of the problem claims that it is the CIA or western countries that are his problem. While we were in the liberation struggle the EPLF used to teach the rank and file that the determining factor of everything is the internal factor, the outside factor is only a secondary one. Now the evil Isayas is telling us it is the Woyanes or the USA that has become the cancer of Eritrea’s problems. What a stupid opinion. In 1994 when asked if what the Arabs say about the presence of an Israeli base in the Dahlak islands, he replied laughingly: “ኣዕራብ ወላ ሓደ ተመሃራይ ኣብ ጀነራል እንተ ተሪፉ ብሰንኪ እስራኤል እየን ዝብላ” Now he has become an Arab himself. Even if the rains are late he will blame the Woyanes and the Americans!! As for the so called conference in Asmara, it is just a farce, image improving exercise. What amazes me is if the so called scholars ever feel shame while they sat there heard the lies of the regime.

Mr Temolso, you write beautifully and correctly in English as well as in Tigrigna. Please continue your positive contributions on Assenna as well as on Asmarino. You and Mr A.Eyasu would be great journalists and politicians in future new and democratic Eritrea.

Ti was shameful conference that has nothing to reality. To be realistic should have addressed the real problem face eritrea as (PUNT LAND) far more than ETHIOPIA declaration. This great and been civilised on old time, Now! dumped by HGDEFIST and fake prof’s.

    • Samson July 27, 2016

PH, you always don’t make much of a sense on your comments! Please clarify as to what you are trying to explain or compare on similarity or difference on Puntland, Eritrea and Ethiopia declaration “what”? However, I do agree with you the conference is a shameful act and a farce.

      • PH July 28, 2016

Samson, I admit my comments are not clearly put in but since you seem interested what I say! Put a question on your mind what I mean not what I write. Also you asked me to clarify the similarity on ” punt land, eritrea & Ethiopia declaration “? . I said only Ethiopia’s declaration claiming the entire horn of Africa saying the land of habesha. In my point of view eritrea is most reference to PUNT civilisation as I said, forgotten all the way on that shameful conference our heritagewas not addressed. Thank you! I hope you got me.

  • Gobo July 27, 2016

The only true conference Eritrea needs right now is – Human Rights – conference. The prisoners, journalists, ex tegadeltis, sex slaves, the slaves of Hgdef, the Eritreans under Arab slavery Abidism, the starvation, economic deprivation, Eritrean refugees, national slavery … all are crying for justice.
Anything else a worthless and farce
