Two families from Somalia and Eritrea who had fled from the Libyan crisis last year and were subsequently given protection in Malta, left the country this afternoon to start a new life in Germany.

The German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees will assist the six persons in the coming months to integrate in Germany, a process which was initiated in the past weeks ahead of their departure from Malta.

The migrants were seen off by the Minister for Home and Parliamentary Affairs Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici.

This reallocation of these persons falls within the framework of a commitment made by Germany in 2011 to give an opportunity to relocate there to persons who had been granted international protection by Malta. Today’s departure follows another one to Germany of around 150 asylum seekers which took place in November.

Other European countries have also committed themselves to relocate beneficiaries of international protection from Malta, as part of the European Union’s Reallocation Project for Malta (EUREMA), or on a bilateral basis. These include Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland and The Netherlands. The EUREMA Pilot Project was set up in 2009 by the European Union specifically to deal with the high pressure that Malta was experiencing on its asylum systems. The project was extended in April last year following the start of the Libyan crisis.

Everyday we hear sad news about our people, our mothers and sisters keep crying with the
families of the victims and here some people show the courage to politices our misery. Last
week there was a mourning in one our sisters house of her brother death at the hands of those
Bedoweens in Sinnai, the sad part though is the family members already paid the ransom money to save their loved one. Those who repeat saying propoganda are acting worst than the
enemy and it is not worthy to give them attention. Brotherhood, affection, love and respect
comes on both ways, show me yours and you get mine as simple as that. Otherwise you are free to entertain on the agony of our mothers and sisters because that is what you are not
different from those who put us on this miserable circumstances.

I am talking about Eritrean youth life lost, brother. No human being put himself on
that kind of dangerous journey. But you can not deny the forces which are causing
to all these sad consequences. If you believe in God the only think I can expect you
to do is just to pray for these innocent brothers/sisters. That is not the end, one day a member of your family may fall victim too, but I do not wish that to happen for you
and to nobody else. We all know the truth of HDGF policy who is the main agent who
weigh all these competing factors on creating surpressing environment to chase away
some of our most productive citizens. We are opposition not enemies, so stop hatred.

So go to GAHANEB. easy short cut.

        • Ahmed saleh February 14, 2012

Gahaneb is the destiny of our deeds, remember God do not like evil doers and it’s followers. Eritrean mothers poured tears
will hunt you one day , MERGHEM dema ybahal. For now go ahead and laugh on people sufferings.

Wedi tukul made excellent song. even the best one from his songs since 1991.
really great job. i was really satisfied by this song. because this song has great meaning which is very hidden and which cannot be discerned by stupid guys like you are. wedi tukul’s song was a wake up call to eritrean people. he is rereading eritrean history and he is crying for the betrayal of the dictator and his group and for the current fate of Eritreans indirectly.
    MISLI KEDEMKA AMTSA’ALEY
    KESTEW’EL KELELI
    KIDAN ALENA FIKIRI ARIGHU ZEYBELI
this three phrases have very insightful meaning. they are narrating what was the vision of the eritrean heroes during the armed struggle and what is wrong with the dictator to betray our martyrs in particular and the eritrean people in general.
    IT IS DULCET SONG.
I LOVE AND LISTEN IT FOR THE GLORY OF ERITREAN HEROES, ERITREA AND ERITREAN PEOPLE.
