Recently we have learned about three Eritreans who were living in Tel Aviv who were kidnapped by some Israeli Arabs whilst they were in search of work.  The criminals took all their money and other belongings, and then forced them to cross into Egypt.   Once across the border, the Egyptian army started firing at the Eritreans, and one of them was hit.  We later heard that he had died.

In another case, in the last couple of days, a group of Eritreans, including four young women, were kidnapped from Tel Aviv and are being held by the criminals for ransom.

We who work in the Middle East are very shocked about what is happening to Eritreans in Israel and we are calling on the Israeli government to take action to stop these crimes and protect Eritreans living in Israel.

In the light of this, we urge all Eritrean in Israel to take great care while in the search of work, and also encourage those who care to pray and to help our brothers and sisters, to do all they can to support them.

    It is very sad to see Eritreans being treated very badly inside and outside of their own land with their basic rights, freedoms and dignity trampled. The saddest part is that this is not mostly happening in European nations and definitely not in Ethiopia, Uganda or other sub Saharan African nations. Rather, this abuse of human rights and cruelty is taking place against poor Eritrean asylum seekers in the Arab world, be it by the Sudanese, Egyptians, Libyans and now in the hands of the Arabs in Israel.
    Two weeks ago more three hundred and fifty Eritreans escaped from Rashaida Arabs controlled captivity “slavery” which included about ninety women and young girls, not far from the Sudanese town of Dangola.
    Anyone out there who can help us to explain, why are the Rashaida, an Arab tribe, or other Arabs treating very badly to Eritreans and other sub-Saharan black Africans?
    What kind of sovereignty or liberation is this, where the government does not protect or speak-out about its own enslaved citizens?
    The Amharas have a saying: yewedeqe zaf; meTrebia yebezabetal/ a fallen tree becomes a victim of several ax hits.

    May Allah protect us from evil.

    The problem is not with just the Arabs, but with the government we have back at home. All these horrendous realities are the consequence of total failure of the PIA and his ill advised policies.

    I know that Eritrean youth in Israel will write history. You will repeat your elder brothers’ herois once again. This is a historic time for all of us and I hope that all other youth who reside all over the world will follow your example. We will overcome the enemy and throw him into the dustbin of History. Isayas is a Trash and will die as a dog. Bzgeberkumo amena ina tehaguisna zelena! AGOKUM!! AJONA!!

    All these alleged crimes are on the head of the criminal despot Isyas. This criminal and his advisers will pay dearly in due time. The Eritrea ‘opposition’ groups are no bargain either. These senile clowns are doing nothing more than arguing with their own shadows. Hope the Eritrean military wakes up from its’ self induced deep sleep and bring along with all his puppets to justice….

    Sinai = Guantanamo

  • Yigermenalo October 15, 2011

    Since Sinai has been the “Eritrea” Guantanamo, it is pertinent to call it ” a declaration of Arabs war against Habesha”. It is then up to us how to handle such problems – ex. exercise the same torture over arabs everywhere they are in the world. That will be the only relevant answer to the organized and elongated hands of DIA.

      If you r man enough to revenge for our bro/sis you should start from woyane instead of putting hand in hand with them against your ppl and nation.

      It is wise to control our emotins when we say something. What is happening in the desert of
      Sinai and surroundings is painful. Be carefull don’t generalize and accuse the whole Arab population.
      Naturally we have the bad and the good everywere. These poor young Eritreans are abondoned by their
      government like a shepherd who abondon his cattle to be the catch of evil doers and the beast.
      To say ” declaration of Arabs war against habesha” is irresponsible and dangereous word. Do me
      a favour we have things to take care, we are done with wars.

    @Ahmed,

    You are right with my emotions, but the Bedouins/Rashaida &Co.(=traffickers or smugglers) must confront the DICTATOR in our country, that the sayings – ‘The traffickers are commiting the unthinkable crimes’ upon helpless refugees. In reality I am aware that the doers behind the barbaric acts are known to everybody. And this in the 21st century !
